I'd love just to have just one of those drawers of tools..any drawer. I remember when at 17 yo in 1981 me+neighbors pulled the engine from my 69 GTO w/only pawn shop, yard sale+Cheap Pep Boys tools along w/tthe back yard tree limb. If we didn't have a particular tool we made do w/what we had!! Good Time in the Sizzling Summer Heat. We didn't know what we was doing but we all learned on the fly!!
Being 25 in this field it pains me to see how much more money im gonna have to spend as time goes on lmao. I did get somewhat lucky being a 4th generation mechanic ive got hand me down snap-on, craftsman usa, and proto tools from the 60s to the early 2000s
I’m 40 and I’ve spent a little over $91k in tools. But I run a service truck and build engines in the shop so I have a little bit of everything and some duplicates because I’m not taking tools back and forth. Good luck
You’ll spend it like I have but those tools will always be there for you. Don’t limit yourself to just however much per hour someone thinks your time is worth. Do something great.
