Hi! Are those screws attached to the diffuser or the bumper? In other words, if I remove only the diffuser, will those exhaust tips also come off with the diffuser?
Gil, thanks for this but do 2020 SQ5's have any options for adding tips without replacing the rear bumper? You can't cut out area the same way you did? Rear looks like this i.imgur.com/AyVU52W.png
Hi .... 2 Questions: 1. What didn't you just remove the difuser and gain access through there ? Does this option work as well ? 2. Could you please provide the code for the chrome scuff trim ? Does it fit on the coupe version of the B9.5 ? Thanks a lot! I am also looking into exchanging these + that scuff trim
For reference only: I have a 2023 Audi SQ5 and purchased the ZAW071897EDSP exhaust tailpipes in an attempt to restore the authentic exhaust system. However, I encountered an issue during installation. The left side with the valve could be installed properly, but the right side had incorrect dimensions. The factory-original left side has a slightly smaller diameter, around 6.5cm in diameter, while the right side without a valve has a diameter of 7cm. I had to remove the new exhaust tailpipe, make modifications, and weld it again in order to fit it. The outcome after the modifications is quite good, although the edges of the plastic parts aren't perfectly smooth. Those with higher attention to detail might find it less satisfying. I am very grateful for this video and Gil's help, and I hope it will be helpful for others in the future.
Hi Gil! You have comments turned off on your recent videos. I’m looking to have my illuminated emblem painted black like you did. Is there a way you could provide more instruction or have advice on how I could get this done? Video I’m curious about: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TuFrV1IUaDU.html
Hi Gil from Mexico excellent video thank for sharing this .... I would like to buy the exhaust tips for my sq5 ... can you share ... the part or how we can buy them Thank for sharing Greeting
Hola Gil - I have a 2023 SQ5, from Mexico. I went to the El Paso, TX Audi dealership at the end of last year and purchased the exhaust tips. On the day of the scheduled service, they did not know of this process. In fact, they suggested buying the rear facia instead. I was really disappointed and, in the end, I had to return the exhaust tips… Is there a way I can connect you with the El Paso Audi Service department? It seems that the folks at the service department did not want (or did not have the knowledge) to do this service (I even shared this video, with no success).
Just for reference, in Mexico, SQ5 does not have the option for real exhaust tips as the US version. The extraordinary thing is that all SQ5 are manufactured in Mexico… imagine that!
parts.audiusa.com/accessories/Audi__SQ5/Sport-and-Design---Exhaust---Sport-and-Design.html Go here and you can order the parts you need. Not all dealer ships are aware of all Audi US offers
Muchas, muchas gracias Gil! I noticed that you refer to the SQ5 Sport Exhaust, Black… do you know if the chrome ones (80A071904) will fit? My SQ5 is black with black optics, and the chrome ones would standout more!
*I have a question does, can Audi dealerships customize your car too? Like upgrade a Q5 & make it look like an SQ5 upgrade the front grill, dynamic turning lights. Rims & side skirts ect.* 🤔
All dealer are independently owned. with that said if your looking to do something like that ....... its best to just go get a SQ5 sorry not worth doing all that in my opinion good luck you can also trey ECS Tunning they have many parts for sale .....
Your newer videos don’t have comments enabled. Is there a way to ask you questions about how you transformed the OEM illuminated emblem to black? Or possibly even a full video of this process would be amazing! Great videos btw.
@gilplasencia8638 Thank you for the videos. Do you happen to know how can I remove S-line badge from the front grill of the Audi e-tron. Or maybe you can help me with that? I am in Orange County. Please let me know
I’m sorry you feel this way. I was skeptical as well! However as time goes on, and I learned more about the product there is science behind this. it does add a different tone to the vehicle and performance. Now, if you are willing to spend the money to complete, your desire is entirely up to each individual. Everyone is an entitled to your opinion. Thank you for it.
I know i’m late and i hope you respond but i have a sq5 sport back 2021 and i wanted to do the exact same thing, you think you can lead me to a website that i could purchase this from ?
Hey Gil. Just put the black tips on my 2022 SQ5. I noticed the sound doesn’t crackle as much. Almost a more dull sound. Is there anything else that is needed or am I missing something?
Does a Dealership do a specific tune to obtain that crackle. Roommate has a 2021 SQ5 with the exhaust on it. Has a way better sound than my 2022 with me putting the exhaust on myself. Let me know! Love the video
@@nicholasuslar2115 no the dealer will not do the tune …… you would have to do like an APR or 034 tune ……. NOTE will black ball your car from warranty …….🫤 your call sucks
Unfortunately as much as I would like to say it will work it will not. As far as the functionality of the exhaust fitting to the exhaust yes but not for the cosmetic side on the bumper
Thanks for your inquiry here is a link or you can purchase them online along with the part number parts.santamonicaaudi.com/p/Audi__SQ5/SQ5-Sport-Exhaust--Black/109131021/ZAW071897EDSP.html?clickSource=relatedProduct
@@aaronbrown1758 they will not fit a Sportback……I bought them and went to a trusted mechanic and was hoping they could make it happen, but it’s impossible. As far as ai know Audi has not come out with a kit for Sportback……I have had correspondence with AWE and they don’t have anything for the Sportback, but was looking into it along with other projects……so no good news.
I have an A5 premium couldn’t afford and S line but I still want to put the black optics on the front bumper. What you recommend change the bumper so it could look like the S line? Or just paint the bumper?
Personally if you were to use paint, I don’t know where you’re located. However in the state of California we deal with rock chips quite a bit. I personally would use factory parts! I would try allocate them on eBay or see if you can even find them on craigslist or a salvage yard. Painting the parts the finish won’t last as good as the factory pieces. That’s my two cents. At the end of the day you have to do what you’re able to accommodate according to your budget.
@@gilplasencia8638 Thank you very much! I live in Texas and yes your right! I’ll keep looking I just wanted the easy way out LOL. But I do agreed and you make things look easy changing parts on Audis! The other thought I had was to order the grille aftermarket black and just swapped grilles because I have the one with chrome around it and just get the black one on eBay!
Thank you for your inquiry. The exhaust tips are no different from the silver tips on the current models that are coming from the factory. This is just a better appearance for your vehicle I feel
