Hola Amigo! I’ve just binged watch your San Juan playlist.. As my family & I are possibly planning a cruise next year w/RCL~Rhapsody of the Seas..that embarks directly out of the port there…Very well done! I can see the pride of the island/ppl a lot more through your vlogs & have a more appreciation for all the love they show here (mainland State side). As in my city, it seems that they ‘showboat’ themselves over other Latin celebrations (Mexican Americans).. but now I see it in a different light. Puerto Rican pride runs deep & I’m here for it! (My wife is Mexican, which created some bias … but no longer the case 😎🤟) 👍
Just subscribed! Awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to give so much useful information, all while utilizing great footage. Will you have a PR West Coast video at any point soon? Would love some great hotel and restaurant recommendations! 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words, and for subscribing! I have a video on my channel about Rincón and stops along the way between San Juan and the West Coast on the North Route. I also have a Video following the southern Caribbean route of the island all the way in to Cabo Rojo. I have so many experiences, and great footage of the island, I just need to put it all together🙌 I have recently been visiting the bioluminescent bays around the island, and will have a video for that soon. Thanks for watching!
Te quiero PUERTO RICO mucho 🇵🇷 ❤ I used to live there in the 90s as a little girl and I’m doing all I can to move back with my 2 daughters asap! Such a beautiful place to enjoy life, nature, people and food 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hello, I will stay in that hotel this month. Is the breakfast that the hotel offers hot? If not I have to go looking for breakfast options nearby. thank you
Saludos! The hotel offers a wide variety of hot and cold options including eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, etc. The best part is the breakfast is complementary🙏 Thank you so much for watching my video.
Love the Luquillo and Fajardo area, we stayed in La Loma condos on the hill in Fajardo. May have to stop by the Fairfield next time and check it out! Thanks for the tour 🤙🏾
Great video. Gracias. I was born in NYC and was sent there to live with my grandmother to attend elementary school, and later returned to NYC. They were some of the best years of my Life. As an adult, I returned to live there, but the high cost of living, combined with the lack of jobs, made it difficult to stay. Sadly, this is the economic reality of many, that want to live there but can't. That building at 21;22, simply clashes with the surrounding architecture. But developers have their ways of getting them approved (wink...wink...). At the very least, it should be painted to match the area.
Such a fantastic and educational episode. I thank you, sir for I did not know that Puerto Rico has the third largest cave in the world. That’s very impressive. Thank you for posting and sharing.
Refreshing to see someone doing a video of the greatest walking tour. Most people will do it and then politicized about how bad it is the history of this beautiful place. Thank God for someone who is smart enough to expose the beautiful experience that is Puerto Rico... very grateful and sincere best wishes to you who narrated a very enjoyable experience.
The place I stayed was the Casa Costera, an apartment by Marriott (so Marriott/Bonvoy discounts available and points earned. You can see the room/hotel at the 9:41 mark in the video. You can also check the link below. Thanks for watching 🙏 www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/sjutj-casa-costera-isla-verde-beach-apartments-bonvoy/overview/
Puerto Ricans 🇵🇷 are American 🇺🇲 who fought in America's major wars since 1917. Dont spread misinformation. The Island speaks Spanish and English. Get your facts straight dont disrespect Puerto Rico like that. Good day!
I had to watch the video to see what I may have said that would be disrespectful towards Puerto Rico. Are you referring to the part where I said “most places I go around the island I feel like I am the only American, which I love”? I have lived here for four years, and married to a puertorriqueña. Myself, and others that are originally from the United States are referred to as Americanos, and locals refer to themselves as Puertorriqueño, or Boriqua. No disrespect intended. Even though English is widely spoken here, Spanish is definitely the predominant language, and not all Puerto Ricans speak English. I am also aware of the many brave Puerto Ricans that have fought in the military. I have many friends here that are veterans, and current military service men and women. I appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching my video🙏 All the best
I'm from Toronto and I'm DYING to go to Puerto Rico. I have a few friends there I have met online but just seeing videos such as this and photos, its one of my top destinations I want to check out.
I have traveled many places, and Puerto Rico is unique. I love it here. I’m guessing being from Toronto, your warm weather season is relatively short🥶 Here we enjoy 80s and 90s year-round (Fahrenheit). The air temperature rarely dips into the 60s unless you are in higher elevations. Ocean temperature is usually between 80° and 85°F. I hope you get to visit soon. All of the best🙏
A tour guide from the department of tourism told me that originally the Spanish called the island San Juan, and the port Puerto Rico. I also found this online. “On November 19, 1493, during his second voyage, Christopher Columbus arrived in Puerto Rico. The indigenous Taíno culture dominated the island.[1] The Taíno called the island Borikén (Spanish Boriquen), “the land of the brave lord.” Columbus named the island San Juan Bautista in honor of Saint John the Baptist. The settlement relocated to a nearby coastal islet, named Puerto Rico (Rich Port). Sometime during the 1520s, the island took the name of Puerto Rico and the port (Puerto Rico) became San Juan.” From gsp.Yale.edu gsp.yale.edu/case-studies/colonial-genocides-project/puerto-rico#:~:text=On%20November%2019%2C%201493%2C%20during,of%20Saint%20John%20the%20Baptist. Thank you so much for your comment!
We'll be visiting in September. I've been enjoying your videos as I walk the treadmill. Thank you for your steady camera work and clear pleasant voice. It makes my time on the treadmill fly by while I learn a little about this beautiful island. What would you say about visiting between christmas and new years? Is the water warm enough to play in? Or should we expect less of a beach vacay?
Thank you so much for your amazing comment! The holidays are great on the island. The air temperature is typically in the low to mid 80s in late December, and the ocean never gets colder than 79°. The water is always warm. That being said, during winter the currents are stronger, and the waves are bigger, especially on the north coast. Escambron Beach right before you get to old San Juan, has a nice protected beach area, and is typically safer for swimming in the winter. You can see this beach on a video I have about the Marriott resort in Condado Beach (Condado Beach itself has a reputation for being dangerous in winter but Escambron is just across the bridge). Depending on the winds, and currents, you may be able to find calmer Waters near Luquillo on the East Coast, or on the West Coast. Playa Buye in Cabo Royo is notorious for having calm waters year-round. Thanks for watching! All the very best🙏
So much to explore on this beautiful island. I’m happy you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for watching! All the best🙏 Next time, you may want to visit the rainforest, or the islands of the east coast like Culebra🏝️
Bahia Beach fan over Dorado, just because it costs the most doesn't mean it's the best. You can see this resort as you approach the airport for landing.
The St Regis in Rio Grande is amazing. I’ve been meaning to get back over there to play their golf course. Both resorts are fantastic. I think the spa at the Ritz is hard to beat.
Beautiful! I wish we could ever stay there. We used to go often to the Cerromar which was next to this one. Thank you for all the amazing videos of my Island 🇵🇷
@@thebestofpuertorico it had an awesome water slide with a lazy river. We really enjoyed it many times. And the hotel was very pretty 😍 El Conquistador in Fajardo has one too but I think it’s smaller. Keep up the good job, my friend!😎🇵🇷👋
