This was filmed on a go pro chest camera! Check out other videos on the channel where we use a static camera and less movement! Thanks for the feedback!
What if there is one player is on tge offside but not involved in playing the ball but his teammate who was onside who scored a goal while his teammate was offside? Will it be goal?
Why are you guys calling yourself Catalan Football if all videos I’ve seen so far seemed to have been filmed in the UK? No polemic, just a curiosity. Thanks
About to start coaching some youngsters and I must say that your content has been very helpful… I already have a system in mind and I can definitely adopt some of your ideas and philosophies to improve it! Keep it up
The kids are told to sit on the ball. They are doing exactly as they are told and are extremely well behaved. They are 10 and 11 year olds who are trying to get better at football. Sorry if they don’t live up to your standards but we encourage kids of all ages and abilities to play the game they love.
Why is there a need to be strict if they already have the discipline to listen? By being strict will achieve what exactly? They are young lads learning the game they love and it is clear to me that they have a lot of respect for their Coach.
Ran this session this week and the kids LOVED it. I really saw them working together and communicating more. Even got the players who don't pass to pass more. Fantastic session and one i'll be doing more often. Cheers.
"I'm not saying anyone here is a loser. Your just want to make sure you're not playing like one." So true. Big difference. Love the positivity balanced with truths
Hi Ben, I'm a coach assistant for U14. I have a player plays as a winger and he usually gets distracted during the game and watching the game instead of playing or movement. (i.e. when he takes corner kicks he usually watch others after attempting kicks and he stuck next to corner flag instead of move into space just in case of a rebound). What tips to minimise the distraction? Thanks
That at U14 is worrying. He might have occupational issues that may require therapy. Naturally, a young player is supposed to gravitate towards where the ball is and seek to be involved in the action. Have you addressed this issue with him during training?
Big thumbs up for this advice. And the thing is, it could just as easily have been about classroom management (I'm a teacher), or any time you need to get the best performance out of a group of humans! Keep it focused, keep it moving, keep it positive. Also, I loved the moment when he said that we want to help form likable people, not just good players. Yes! And if we could only make their parents likable as well😂
Believe you me, I've watched many videos on the half turn but, none of them are as step by step detailed as yours. I'm currently giving my 9 year old boy lessons at home. Thank you very much! Super like and subscribed.
I find a lot of people understand the basic, most common scenario, but don't realize the part about the ball being onside if two players have moved past the opposition. I've seen so many cases (even a coach recently on the MLS, if you can believe it) of people pointing to the last defender when a pass is made to a teammate behind or in line the ball. Anyway, great explanation.
💯 and also true in the US. Boys between the ages of 10 - 14 grow differently. One kid might have a size advantage for a period of time, but they all eventually catch up. The bigger kids also have a disadvantage as they end up relying on their size rather than their ball handling skills
hi for u7 teams what would you say 7 children in a team more than enough? as my sons current coach is trying to add his friends son which would increase it to 8 players. This means my son loses 3 minutes of game time per game....just like to know peoples opinion would you give your childs minutes? or do you think its fair?
8 is fine for a squad size, it helps to have extra players available to cover injuries and absences etc. but for a match day 7 players is more than enough players for 4 outfield positions
Thank you for making this video. I learned a lot from it. I do have one question: could you create a video about how you are laying out the cones? Alternatively, could you recommend a website that explains the reasoning behind your cone layout? Once again, great video and keep up the excellent work.
I appreciate your videos. I’m a 10 year girls varsity high school coach, first year competitive club coach in Phoenix, Arizona. These videos have helped tremendously .
