Young, You're real. I was in the game as a flatbed O/O for 8 years late 70's, early 80's. Leased to 2 companies, one had their own trucks and one had no company trucks, only O/O's. Fact of trucking life: Companies will run their own trucks around O/O's, it doesn't matter how many children or a wife who depends on your income. Always, always, "Follow the Money." It's a timeless expression that never goes out of date. All of them will run their company trucks around you and O/O's get what's left. When times are tough, sometimes there's nothing left. The first company I was leased to made sure their company trucks were loaded first and then we O/O's fought over what was left. After a year, I learned the game and moved on. The second company, which is no longer in business, still loaded trucks according to their "favorites." I did okay with the second company because they learned I was dependable and would do what I said. However, it was still a challenge. That was back in the day when $1.00/mile freight (to the truck) was good money. JB, because they have thousands of company trucks and drivers, will always load around the O/O's. It's business and stock price. It's not pretty. I've been following you for a while. You have a great freight gig, one the best I've seen. But you need a hope, my friend, and that doesn't come from a job, trucking or otherwise.
yeah bro , they did that to me too and sent me the same email. if you go back you are saying to them you can treat me anyway you want to and im here for your business
I really can not be mad or none of that... from what I did not know... because I was able to learn and understand certain things for my self..... and my business, other's no bs
ive been getting alot of messages from jb hunt asking me to come back. from what ive heard they lowered pay on alot of accounts. so im guessing enough drivers left that theyre asking ic and former drivers to come back. theyre telling me as a company driver doing 4 days a week as a intermodal driver i should make 70k minimum. yet i got a friend whos still with them doing that and hell be lucky to hit 52k gross.. i dont think theyre an awful company but i def think a recruiter will say anything, be it knowingly a lie, or just uninformed. trucking aint easy and if youre not making what you should let alone enough to survive it takes an even bigger toll on your health. i had to take 9 months off last year cus of the bs. then another 2 thanks to how dirty prime was to me in 6 months. its a conflicting job for sure.
