My definition file does not work and is only generated with 46 empty provinces. I have tried many ways and I can't solve it, does anyone know a solution?
Hey, I wonder how to make map height actually. Because in the video all the map is flat and no heights, just terrain paints like mountains but nothing 3D
Hello guys if you have a problem where you load into the vanilla game rather then your own custom map make sure to have atleast 1 river because i had this problem where i went as far as to remake my whole map just to find out in some old post that atleast 1 river is required so if you don't have a river that would be a great place to start. I have a problem, after creating the mod, in the "definition.csv" folder I have only 46 provinces, not several thousand as you have in the video, which may be the problem, I did everything as you did, and downloaded Map Gen from your link.
Hey, this was really helpful, but for some reason (at least for me) I had to literally put in every single province, not state, inside the strategic region file for it to work. Wasn't hard to fix (check crash logs for total provinces) but just thought I'd put it out there.
before this video my mod has been crashing at initializing game, afer you told me to add more replace_paths, I followed your entire instruction further and now my game is crashing at creating checksum. If you helped me to get over the initializing game crash I hope, you can help me to get the game running again.
You once saved my mod, it was crashing all the time and nothing helped. But then you found out that the tutorial.txt was missing. If you would know how much time you saved me and how many other people I could help knowing this is a cause of error💥💥💥

probably shouldve said, but if u have the same strat region error, keep in mind after saving in the nudger, it does not save directly to ur mod, but to: "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\map\strat regions", or it may be "\history\states", if u edited states instead. then u must copy those files over to ur mod. i still dk why that happened, ur mods hopefully should be fine though.

Also im aware the drive is broken. The files were lost and outdated anyway. You have to copy vanilla files to your mod that are necessary to prevent crashes, and clear them as shown in the video. And replace path over files you wish to use your mod files over base game. Its alot of work but mapgen generates alot for you

I cannot find the file on my drive. I have the replace paths.txt still saved but not the rest I apologize. Unfortunately it would be heavily outdated anyway, if y wish i could scrape one together but no promises it works. Then again AAT dlc drops shortly and itll all break again. It requires copying over necessary base game files, and clearing them as in the video, and there may be templates u can find on the modding server but no promises. I would wait until aat drops, as the new market and new mios and balances will require u to recopy files and stuff over to ur mod again. Debating making a new video once aat is out, but no promises. so this video gets a dislike, so i would like to say the discord was complete garbage, i asked for help and i was told if i cant figure it out then map overhauling isnt for me i was told this by a mod burgerkinghotline, they were very unhelpful and in some aspects rude. if you have questions or need help reach out to me and i can try my best to help you, just ask your question here and i will reply, i have notifications on so dont panic i will return. goodluck gents
@@nikfis4038 highly unlikely, it is easiest to just use nudger, if youre unable to use nudge, you can still technically edit your mod via the sublime text /notepad++ and other software. there may be alternatives somewhere on google, but my trust in them would not be too high. this is tricky because nudge is the main go to for this, many mods relied and still do rely on this tool, buggy in which aspect? crashing not functioning properly, laggy, states and provinces can be adjusted in many ways. nudger is the best however its not impossible, you should come over to the iron workshops discord, we have great mods who can work with you consistently and help you on this more in depth
