Also im aware the drive is broken. The files were lost and outdated anyway. You have to copy vanilla files to your mod that are necessary to prevent crashes, and clear them as shown in the video. And replace path over files you wish to use your mod files over base game. Its alot of work but mapgen generates alot for you
7:07 I consider the boundary I put the most important phase of my maps cuz I don't like random borders, and the current mod im making has specific borders, it says 1 Pixel whide but I just slapped a 4 Pixel whide line and it works lol, all provinces get aligned but I need to manually edit states in nudge
It hapened to me once, u might need to create new one in mapgen, or search for a file "heightmap.bmp" If u have it, idk, if u don't have it, create new one

I cannot find the file on my drive. I have the replace paths.txt still saved but not the rest I apologize. Unfortunately it would be heavily outdated anyway, if y wish i could scrape one together but no promises it works. Then again AAT dlc drops shortly and itll all break again. It requires copying over necessary base game files, and clearing them as in the video, and there may be templates u can find on the modding server but no promises. I would wait until aat drops, as the new market and new mios and balances will require u to recopy files and stuff over to ur mod again. Debating making a new video once aat is out, but no promises. Uh... Is the converted colormap DDS supposed to be fully transparent...? Every BMP-DDS converter I've found so far creates a fully transparent output, without an actual map in the image.
@@brandoninglis8671 then idk, I followed other tutorial and now I know to do it by head, just the map part, if u wanna create countries, find a tutorial So basically u wanna generate a mod with mapgen, well made one, every single file u drag to mapgen needs to be 5632 by 2048 pxls and 24 bit images, terrain map must coincide with land input (the first file u drag inside mapgen), with same size and stuff I reccomend, unless u want random states, creating biggest state size with less variation of states. You can, but I strongly reccoment to generate them, cuz HoI4 is very picky with rbg code in rivers, if u thought terrain was hard, just try to make a river

U won't get to the point creating a map mod, it's a complex process, and the slightest error causes map to be unusable and need to repeat all over again, better to see one 30min than 5 times the same 10min
