Hi Peter, Unfortunately, I don't speak German (providing it's German). However, thank you for taking time to share your feedback. If you found the video useful, please like and subscribe for more similar content to be created.
Update to the video as of July 2024: I did go to a music store and played the Nord Stage 4 and I can confirm there's little difference in terms of action between Nord Stage 4 and Nord Piano 5, i.e. as a pianist it brings no benefit to go with NP series if you have the budget, as the Nord Stage 4's keybed is as good, if not better than the Nord Piano 5's keybed.
Hi Delanobersan, All the headphones I've used in the video I had them for a very long time some over 15Ys (like the Grado one) and that was enough time for me to be able to give an accurate feedback on them. All these headphones I bought them myself and as best practice I do Not recommend something until I've owned it myself for enough time to provide as objective feedback as possible to others. I didn't buy AKG K271, therefore, since I didn't test it, I cannot comment on how it sounds compared to K371 or the others. Will leave that decision to you. If you decide to buy the K371, feel free to use the link in the video describtion when ordering it, should you want to support the channel. Thank you,
Hi Pordermart, I'm assuming you're asking about the monitors I use. This question came up quiet frequently from other followers as well. Please, keep an eye on the channel as I'm going to create a video on that very topic since it's on a high demand from you/the community.
This is how you demonstrate piano samples. Other demonstrators should take note. We don't need a million notes, and even toy pianos sound good when when the notes don't have to sustain. Not only do you demonstrate the quality of the samples, but you play with thought and sentiment creating atmosphere. Beautiful.
Hi i also saw your video on the soft geand. In both videos, your sound is so much better than mine. What monitirs are you using? Im using nord monitors.
Hi Rexsplace, I will create a video on my thoughts on which speakers to use. I'm unsure what you meant by your sound is better than mine. It cannot be much difference unless you are using the small version of the soft grand sample. I'm using Large version.
Hi Rexsplace, I only increase the trebbles a touch for Soft Grand sample. Here's a video I put together where I explain how I use the Grand Piano samples ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HtiqNCyijVU.html
Hi Rexsplace, I think you are the third person asking about what speakers I use. Since this is a request from my followers, I'll do a video on that, however, number one usecase I bought them for was something else than the piano playing. I'm using headphones when practicing. There is a video I've put together explaining why I chose the headphones. I'm using these headphones amzn.to/3VhVTRp
It sounds nice actually, I was pleasantly surprised but it does way 20 KG and I perform on stage. Anything above 20 KG is a no go. Also, you play very well. I noticed one thing I think this Nord uses a synthesizer. Here is a test bro. Hold down the C key without any pedals and the. Hit any key say F. I notice that there is a longer from the previous note when you play, not your fault it’s a design flaw. That is what happens when you use a synthesizer. Only Yamaha uses hammer weighted so it’s not a synthesizer it mimicked an acoustic piano.
Hi Themusicalchannel, thank you for your feedback. That's appreciated. Providing you subscribed, I'm looking forward to see your thoughts from other videos I've put together.
Hi Relaxation, I must admit the feeling of the Roland RD-2000 is better at touch than NP5 when I played it. Indeed, I think it's great for everyone since it makes better products and more options available for buyers.
Eagerly awaiting your review of the new Grand 2 with the Kawai RH3 action. Other than the size, now you get the layering and the Kawai keybed so seems like it would be almost perfect for you.
I too have struggled deciding between the MP11SE, Fantom8, and Grand. In my research I came to the same conclusions as you, my favorite sound was Nords White Grand or the new Soft Grand, best keybed MP11SE, and Fantom for all the added features to grow into. Weight and size doesn’t matter to me as I have no intention of gigging, and sounds are less important I think because I also like a lot of the VSTs out there like Keyscape, Noire, Alicias Keys. So because of all of that I have been more torn between Fantom8 with the same PHA50 keybed as the RD2000, and the MP11SE. I really want to choose the MP11SE, but I just feel it’s old and in line for an update soon. Now this new Grand 2 has my curiosity piqued getting the RH3 keybed and the Nord Sounds is hard to pass up.
Hi Reltius, That's such a great and relevant feedback you've shared. Thank you for taking time to do that as it provides more data and helps other musicians who follow the channel and will read the comments. Appreciate it. Indeed, I'm curious on how Nord Grand 2 action is going to feel. I'm still to play Nord Grand 2 - asa I get to do that, I'll make some notes and put something together to share with the channel.
Thank you, Jonathan. I believe I've shared how I configure the touch settings in a different video comments. In general is in Medium and that was the setting for this video as well. Can I ask back why does it matter or what was that you had in mind that would require to know the setting for the touch? Thanks,
@@standavidson I always see your soft touch, and I try to do it with the same touch that I see in your videos, and I couldn't achieve the same dynamic. I come from Yamaha CP1, and I had gotten used to that touch, in Nord I have to make a little more effort. I normally play on HEAVY, to be able to better control the softer nuances of the performance. But when I need to get more Fortissimo, it's already a bit difficult for me, and I feel like I'm mistreating the keys. I feel more comfortable in MEDIUM generally, because I feel like I don't abuse the keyboard much, but for the softer nuances, I feel like I can't control them much either. That's why my question was in another video about the Rev B with DYN COMP, if it would have a lot of influence in this aspect.
@@JanoStudios I'm with you Jonathan and I agree that Heavy allows to go softer but it requires much more strength to get the forte (or even more for ff). Probably, the Medium should've been between Heavy and what Medium is now. Another thing that you won't get on a stage piano, at least I can confirm it isn't on Nord Piano 5 (I'm still to test it on the Nord Grand 2) is NP5's action ability to do a 'drop roll'. Play it on an accoustic grand you will see the difference in the sound. Play it on NP5, there's no difference. I've played a Yamaha (hybrid, not the stage piano) and they've got it in there.
Hi there. Great video. Loved your versions of Hear these praises and Worthy is your name. Amazing talent. Would you do a tutorial on your piano runs please? Thanks Rob
Hi Rob, Appreciate your comment - thank you. I'm glad to know you've found it useful. It's on my to do list to create a video with some weekly exercises for piano that focuses on making your/the pianist's fingers stronger and in control of the piano.
@@pobbob335Hi Rob, what I played in these 3 x songs were mainly arpeggios and it will be part of that exercise. Runs are scalar passages, and therefore they tend to move by step, however, I think you made a great point and I should look into some runs to introduce and also share with the community. Thanks for the idea.
Hi Bonny, I'm using a audio interface which converts the analog to digital and connects to the laptop where I capture it. At the right time, hopefully, I'd be able to review it and share a link where people can buy it from. Hope this helps.
Absolutely breathtaking playing! Because of what ppl say about the feel of Nord 5 keys I’ll probably go with a Roland RD, 2000. May the Lord Jesus keep you and bless you in all his ways! Thank you for doing this! The sound is otherworldly! 👏👏😀😉
Thank you for your kind words, Jacob. You might want to hold on for a while until you can play the Nord Grand 2 (just released) if keybed action is important to you before you make a decision. Rolland keybed is wood, thus, the feel is different the NP5 when playing, however, if you want to get the Nord Grand piano sounds as well, you need to consider Nord Grand 2. Let us know what you decided in the end.
The feeling is okay from the weight side, there are other aspects you should keep in mind which I've noticed and I spend more time on explaining these in the review video. Providing you've subscribed to the channel, keep an eye for when youtube engine shows to you the NP5 review video and watch that for more details. I've shared my thoughts in a reply to your other comment.
Hi Osman, Thank you - appreciate taking time to share that. There's no sheet I was playing that from as I've done it on the fly. I did look at the song structure on how it was composed by Paul Baloche & Glenn Packiam in terms of harmonies and melody and then I try adding my flavour on it. If you add the title of the song by by Paul Baloche & Glenn Packiam, I'm sure you will be able to find multiple music arragements. I usually do Not go for the most difficult one to save time to parse it. Once I've gone through it couple of times, I start making it my own. Hope you found sharing my workflow useful.
Hi Osman, Hope to be able to create some more videos sooner than later. As is, I'm still to get any returns from the time invested in this channel to justify the investment, however, I'm hoping to be able to create some more content with a better consistency at some point. Thus, if you stick around, hopefully, will be able to create and share more relevant content.
Thank you, TheCev. I'm glad you appreciated the interpretation - it is a beautiful song which Matt Redman has composed with beautiful lyrics as well. I heard this first time while I was playing tennis, somebody was singing it nearby in less than 200 yards away football pitch and it stuck with me. Thought to give it a try and add my spin on it in the arragement.
Thanks for watching! NinaboboUngke. I'm glad you've found this informative. Following and providing this kind of feedback helps for future content creation. Happy New Year!
Thankj you, Kindle. Appreciate taking the time to write the feedback. Liking and following the channel helps me create more content such this to shre back with the community. Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hi Karlon, It is indeed as mentioned in the video description under Music Attribution section. Providing you liked the video, consider following for more relevant content to be created. Happy Christmas!
Thanks, Okay. It would be good to get more feedback when you get a chance. What are your thoughts on the new soft grand sample and which one is your favourite from the combinations presented?
Thank you, Oluwaseun. I will create a video on the speakers I use soon and why as you are the third person asking for that information. Please consider following the channel to get notified for when that video is ready/uploaded. Thanks,
Hello Stan. I new bought nord piano 5 after i listened you several times. But i was not able to find it's music stand in Turkey. How can i get it? Can you help me? Thanks.
Hi Osman, I can help you, providing you are based in UK. For different region, I'd reach out to the dealer. In Turkey, it seems Doremusic in Instambul is the local dealer for Nord. The stand in UK comes both as part of a bundle or separate at different stores. Hope that helps.
I had completely forgotten that I had seen this video before, and posted a previous comment, but I so enjoyed it this time around, because of the song you played, cos it is one of my favourites. I love the chord substitutions you made, awesome and interesting. I see you are based in the UK. I'm in Wales. The image quality(lighting, colours, and focusing) and sound quality of your video are excellent, also the way you delivered the information, was very well paced, and not rushed. Just the way I like it. Calm and measured. I think I now consider things a bit differently to my earlier comment, where I expressed a preference for the Yamaha Montage piano sound. I think both of these sounds are wonderful and can co-exist, in the same music group or in a studio, if one can afford both, to provide more colours. Clearly the Nord Pianos have more "character" and sound far more realistic, more like a proper sampled piano. But above all, they have their own "Nord" piano sound that is not available in other instruments. Your video is very informative. Thank you.
Hi Okay, Great to meet you. We went to Wales this summer for a long weekend on the coast to a caravan park and it was beautiful. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Although, it takes time and resources for both pre and post production to have these videos ready with no RoI so far, it is great to see people find the videos insightful and I'm able to help others. Hopefully, if you decided to follow the channel, you will find other videos helpful as part of this community. I also appreciate you taking time to provide your feedback.
