Happy Birthday, Shang En. That's also tremendously cool, that you're like, a Fatherly figure to your students, Shifu. You can tell you actually care about your students, & that's great to see. Transformers totally badass. Autobots roll out. That's also a really big Bday cake. All the kids even got him presents. That probably made his Birthday. That seems like, a good family atmosphere, I would want to truly be part of havin' had a rough childhood, & home life my self. God bless you guys, hope you have many awesome days training.
Extraordinarily good vid. Thanks for putting English subtitles, & speaking some English on top of Mandarin, Shifu. Great job on Board breaking, got have some precision, strong focus, & Iron Palms I assume. Plus, the body conditioning is always really cool to see, gonna make you tougher like, a man of steel. Can't wait to come.
Student's gotta get over that initial fear of being hit, I can't speak Mandarin, just yet, but it seems you're tryna teach them stay more composed, mind over matter, be a little more determined, aggressive to kick more ass, while obviously teaching more technique. Great video.
Shifu Xu, I like the phenomenal coaching, & hands on approach you're doing, with Sanshou, big time. Good way to test our might, & put our skills to the test, too.
I used to live in mainland China. It’s good to see that the young people are learning how to do martial arts. One sad point is that the old-fashioned traditional martial arts barely exist in mainland China today. Because of the cultural revolution, martial arts were changed to be more acrobatic and for showmanship. The old-fashioned traditional combat oriented martial arts ended up going to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau. There are still a few traditional old style kung fu teachers in China I was very fortunate to meet with Juan and train with one. He told me that his teacher had to go into hiding to keep his traditional praying mantis kung fu. That was because at the time during the cultural revolution they were getting rid of anything that was considered traditional an old style to be replaced by what Mao Ze Dong would allow. Who knows as time goes on with more cultural exchanges between the mainland, Hong Kong, anti-won the old style traditional martial arts will reemerge in China
