Were these bags that floppy when new? I know this video is 6 yrs old, and your bags are 2 yrs old when the video was made. Im considering Kathys bag liners for my goldwing, but concerned that the material may be too thin, as there seems to be zero rigidity to them, assuming they are still made the same way today. The only liners ive ever had were oem yamaha fjr and although they were a soft side bag, they were definitely stiffer than these seem to be.
I would guess that your right handed because you have to assist your right leg with your hand. That would mean your left leg does most of the work and thats why I think your right handed. Now thats out of the way, that means your can lift your left leg higher than your right. Why don't you get on the bike from the other side. Its easier. The bike is leaning away from you which means you can get closer to the bike and lift your left leg higher and get on easier. My leg length is the same as yours and it is ALOT easier to get on from the other side. I think more people should do it simply because the bike is leaning away. Not to mention there is even less of a worry tipping the bike over cause its already leaning that direction.
Just tried these Ilium pegs (slightly different design) on crash guards for 2022 RT. Terrible!! When clamp is mounted on horizontal bar of engine crash guard, extended pegs are way too high, when clamp is moved to vertical bar of crash bar, extended pegs are angled too low. Can't get pegs set to proper angle when extended.
Great review. Sorry to hear about you're accident, and your wife's injuries. Hopefully there's been nothing since then (6 years ago now at time of writing). In Australia here and have tried many brands of jacket but favourite and what I believe to be the best are Vanson Leathers. Have tried all the typical name brand gloves of various types and while they've saved my hands a few times... really am over them falling apart after 3 or 4000 miles or so. Want to order some Lee Parks!!!! Thanks for your channel and the really comprehensive reviews. Maybe see you down under one day. Andy
You have no idea how helpful that was. I have a SAE plug on my bike now and am trying to figure out how to charge drone batteries in the tank bag. Your idea if having multiple charging connections in the bag was helpful as I also need to charge GoPro batteries. I charge my phone off the built in BMW GS charging point. Thank you!
Who is this dumbass going on about gloves but does not where at helmet> WTF!! Not to mention his arm is in a sling. Dude!! you should not give advice about any kind. NONE!! SHHHHH...
4:02 I got the same camera remote on my motorcycle for my Akasp camera, I strapped mine over the clutch master. Great ingenuity and build this guy got going 👏
I don't know what all the nagging and complaining over the nakedness of the bike is about. Get a fucking car already! Motorcycling is best done on a naked bike, yes, even extremely long stints. Greetings from freezing Sweden you lazy and spoiled yankee doodles, lol.
Very informative and helpful video. I just purchased the full line of Montana Pitch-Blend products after watching this. I also have a Vanson ProPerf jacket.
I know it's been a while, but thanks for the video. Anyone can "review" motorcycle gear when it first launches. Videos like this after time in the saddle and especially after crash testing gear is good for the motorcycle community. Thanks for the video and hope you and your wife have made a good recovery.
When you cut the cut the excess strap length off, cut on the diagonal not perpendicular. the angled point from a diagonal cut can help you re-thread the strap through the buckle.
Nice video, well demonstrated and explained. I'd add that on the 2017 and up K1600 bikes with the OEM engine guards, the newer Ilium pegs actually mount on the top portion of bar as opposed to the portion that is parallel with the bike's longitudinal axis.
