Thanks for your ❤ to my comment & I hope to find a “stormin normin” cone system if I’m lucky to find it, your video truly inspired me to obtain what I have because of the “packability” into the cook pots that I use & I was going to & may still diy that cone (toaks ti windscreen) cut to fit, wrap around but it’s too thin lol but I have 3 at $10-$12 each, it’ll need a pot stand I use it in my motel room to cook my food, people are amazed at other areas where I fix my meals…Thanks!
@@WildCamper WOW & Thanks! Very nice option & I can purchase individual pieces, I truly like the burner it’s better quality material than my diy aluminum cap with carbon fiber cloth, able to use fry pan on 1/2 screen mode which I have to prop up my burner for flame contact, 10% discount really helps also…Thank You!
@@WildCamper Ok I sure will very soon I’m hoping & it might work as a wood gasifier using 1/2 inverted inside my stainless steel Bobcat stove system & as a second stove for 2 pots to cook at the same time for 2 people or more complex meals
@@fighting3209 it barely fits the jungle hammock it's made for . I have frontline standard size and would say not so XL not in my opinion. Better off with a tarp.
@@fighting3209 no worries, not sure if they still make them but DD do a super light tarp which I also have , personally I find it just big enough for the hammocks but not quite large enough for a "proper" camp if the weather is inclement. I recommend a DD 3x4 tarp.
Just found your channel as i have just bought an adventure plus to have some advetures with my boys aged 7 and 10. It was great to watch! I Grew up around the river and i dont want my kids to miss out on those memories as i treasure those huckleberry finn type days! I know the stretch of river you're on as i am a little up stream. Quick question is it a better paddle with a kayak type as you are or a canadian type paddle? Loved the video!
Cheers mate. I hope you get as much fun out of your boat as I have had out of mine over the years. Re your question on the paddle, I've never tried a proper Canadian type one so I can't comment on that. I'm afraid. I've never had any trouble with the ones that came with the boat, but I'm very very far from being an amateur let alone a professional!
Menu 10 looks great. I ordered one last week and cannot wait for it to arrive. What other menus can you recommend? Only thing is the cannot be pork or vegetarian. I’m taking MRE’s as I’ve broken my ribs so trying meals ready to heat but take very take very little to eat but give me plenty of energy.
Fun fact: The 360-degree Furno (the first cheap Chinese stove you've tested) has a pretty good review on Australia's outdoor shop. It is only 59AUD, and it comes with a pot set, stove, and canister stand. Most importantly, it just works. What a bargain. I was also curious about what Chinese brand it is since I have never heard of this "360 degree" thing in my life. So I did a bit of searching on Taobao(Aliexpress), and I realized this 360 Degree Furno stove is the exact same as a Chinese brand called "Bulin." The Bulin is an outdoor stove brand that has existed for many years(at least more than two decades). It has many good reviews from those 2000-2010s hikers and overlanders. But their product design didn't look so great compared to brands from Japan and the US.
Paul messner has recently publicised a kick starter company that’s now making these, but currently only for a Toaks pot…. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-thKSJLd7kCs.htmlsi=Li1CxueZl57mOI7W
Great Vid! I'm rather envious of your cook set and want to recreate the tonic water stove; does the base just push up into the top or is there a technique to making the two parts fit together?
Truthfully I have no idea , it came with the stove and I have lost it since this video . I still have the cone part , it's awesome, for the bottom head to outdoor gear essentials and tell Colin there I sent you he sells them for next to nothing. Great bit o kit!
I love my Bobcat jr stove, it basically wind proof, it fits rolled up into my 600ml pot & works with 2 other pots 900ml of a different shape that are wide not too tall for a better heating of the bottom I have a Vargo triad using the stand & starlyte diy burner using a X titanium pot holder & they both work great without needing another “cone” Or a TOAKS Ti windscreen to wrap around it if it’s not very windy!
And clearly a puppy at the time of filming, so needs to refrain from too much exercise to avoid damage to he joints. Also distances involved mean the trailer is handy for me as she would not manage those let alone along the busy roads where I live. Some may have dogs with disabilities or senior dogs that can't walk .
@@WildCamper I made that mistake of letting my now 15 yrs old collie run too much when he was a puppy.. now he also needs a buggy as sore and stiff with arteritis :( I just was young and not aware at the time
Point is to show the good and bad, other mats are not so difficult to fold away plus not everyone has a pump like the flextail but appreciate the feedback
Nice to see you out mate, you'll have to come back down here for a camp soon. Nothing wrong with a trangia, better than those noisy gas things any day of the week.
SOTO Windmaster is my favourite. The micro regulator, low noise, build quality and good wind resistance make all the difference and compensate for the annoying height. You know you're designing good stoves when MSR steal your design!
Trail Designs makes something they call the caldera cone. I used an online truncated cone calculator to get the numbers and went ahead and made my own cone out of aluminum. The source for that was a cheapo turkey pan from the supermarket that I flattened out, made a template, traced & cut it out, etc. 2 cups of tap water (50-ish degrees) boils in 3 minutes 23 seconds (rolling boil was 3,m 44s). Your results may vary, but my usual boil times are 5 to 6 minutes (I use Yellow HEET).
I think you did good on the review. We can pay for RU-vid and not have any commercials at all. Details before purchasing can prevent regrets later. Well done...
I rarely use the stick pegs that come with tents as 99% of the time they are crap so have a separate stash in the garage which I forgot to bring along .
I could do with one of those for my rifle, it'd make hunting small game a lot easier. Never tried airsoft, paintball a few times but never airsoft. Always seems to be a modicum of honesty required in it, looks like fun though.
Hi mate, thanks for watching, genuinely, it's a cracking bit of equipment for the money. Airsoft, it's good fun but you're right, there are some cheats and not everyone is honest as they should be when calling hits I find a couple of rounds to their head wakes them up 😂
My old school mate has been a very active airsofter (is that a word....?) for about 20 years. He goes to weekend camps around the country to take part in big sessions. Airsoft is a fantastic "sport" if that is the right way of saying it. Enjoy! Cheers, Warren
@@WildCamper 58 pattern was the opposite….not enough room to squeeze the kit issued in to it….and it shrunk when it got wet!😂….( designed by a woman…sssshh!)👍🏻
I have a Klymit uninsulated pad with the same fitting that he showed. I thought the combination he used was pretty loose. I had an old cpap hose that I took the end off of. It made a nice tight adapter.
I have both tragia burners but not triangle. It a stealth cooker, simular idear but slid aluminium goes in pocket very sturdy. Hlpe to try it soon. I hAve a trangia 28
