I put a BakFlip cover on my 2016 F-150 shortly after I bought the truck in March, 2016. Mine was covered with a flexible vinyl sheet, but folded just like this one. It was great for about five years, but now two of the panel edges have been deformed, causing sagging of two panels at the panel joints. I have never put anything in the cover, but I do go through an automatic car wash regularly, and I think the spinning roller that does the top of the vehicle might be the source of the load that’s deformed the panel edges.
Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Rear Windshield for your 2019 Can Am Maverick Trail 1000 DPS
I just wanted to thank you for this series. I plan to do the same with my 2016 Avenger. I am a single lady and the bunks just waste space that I could be using.
Yes, it has two rods, one on each side that lock in place with two locking mechanisms which prevents it from falling down. It also has the ability to be opened part way and lock in place with two strings straps that click into place.
Thank you so much for this! We're fresh empty-nesters aiming to embark on the RV'ing leg of life. Most trailers are "Sleeps 6!" etc -- we want one that "Sleeps 2 - with an office" -- which means we need to renovate -- replacing the bunk room (similar to yours) with a desk area for 2-3 monitors creatively spaced, and removing the dinette to make into dual-chair area (where one chair will double as the office chair -- because again, we only want to accommodate 2-butts total -- and going to remove the existing sofa, and replace with an extended L-Shape countertop, for cook prep work, or can double as a table to eat -- along with more storage underneath. 2- butts! They don't sell many trailers to suit the "golden age couple wanting to travel the states for just-two". So thank you for this video -- I'm only semi-handy, and work slow -- so always great to see someone like you with more tools/experience, showing us the way. Bless you, and thank you!
Great job on the build it looks great! I am planning to build one the same size here in Michigan - a few questions: - Floor system - 6x6 posts and 2x10's? I was considering only doing 3x 6x6 posts to span the 24' but 2x12 boards instead of 2x10's - Roof Trusses - After you made the jig how long did it you to build all 16? trusses and what was their OC spacing? Thanks for documenting your build and providing some help/inspiration for others!
Thanks for the video, this is the type of video that makes coming to RU-vid a joy. These look like the Premier cabinets. You might want to change your title to include Premier. There are very few Premier installation videos so this will be easier to find for people looking for it.
I don’t think planing is the best solution. It cupped because water got into the surface of the wood and dried out faster on one side. A simple solution is to wet the opposite side and let it dry with that side up. Corrects itself without any machines or much time invested. Reseal wood when it has flattened out.
Absolutely, have done that in many cases over the years. In fact, tried that with this one. Once I did get it corrected and resealed, I did let the owner know best methods of cleaning and storing.
Great information. Much appreciated. One question: I have a diesel sub-compact tractor that I use year round. I've been considering using Hot Shot's 'Diesel Winter Anti-Gel' during the coldest months, and 'Everyday Diesel Treatment' the rest of the year. Do you have any thoughts or advice in that regard? Thanks.
I just cannot see where you have extra Bathroom space with all due respect. The only difference I see is you removed the Bathroom door and added a sliding door.
The bathroom door used to sit at an angle. I brought it out and ran a wall straight across giving a decent amount of additional room next to the sink and toilet to where you could actually stretch out your arms and dry yourself off. Also, I cut the back wall behind the toilet by about 6 to 8 inches. Additionally you can now walk into the closet area to dress where before you had to bring your clothes into the tiny bathroom and try to get dressed in a very small space. Much better now than it was before. Maybe the video just doesn’t show the difference in space as it really is when you see it in person.
The main reason I watched your Video is for the fact I have a similar issue. I have a 2007 Pioneer Fleetwood with 2 bunks behind the Bathroom and no room at all in the Bathroom. I was going to remove the bunks cut about 10 inches off the Bathroom wall behind the toilet and put a sliding door on the exit of my entrance outside of the basin.
My seasonal campground is closed until May 15th. Can not wait till it opens again so much work to do on my Trailer. I took the Dinette set out of the kitchen area and replaced it with a small table and 2 chairs. It really freed up space for the 2 of us.@@LivinginAlaska
That lubricity is all the more important on that Ford Super Duty behind you which uses the Bosch CP.4 HPFP. WIth the change to ULSD in 2007, lubricity was reduced in diesel fuel so that it doesn't meet the wear scar ratings Bosch intended for the CP.4, which otherwise isn't an issue in Europe because they take diesel more seriously and mandate a better overall quality of diesel fuel. However, in the US, you have to restore that lost lubricity and an additive like HSS EDT is an excellent way to do that. I've used Stanadyne and Optilube products and they were great, but what I like best about HSS EDT is that a little goes a long ways. While not a fan of biodiesel, B5 can go a long way of restoring that lost lubricity, as well, but that wouldn't be the preferred way to restore your lubricity. Also having a cetane boost means a more efficient combustion resulting in less soot deposit in your EGR and DPF. This translates into less frequent DPF regenerations and that means a longer life out of your SCR system. HSS EDT also helps clean and protect your expensive diesel injectors, prevents corrosion in your fuel system which can destroy your engine, and demuslifies water that may be in your diesel so that it goes into your water separator/filter rather than your engine. HSS EDT also helps stabilize your diesel for longer periods of time which can be crucial if you are forced to run any level of biodiesel because biodiesel is hydroscopic and tends to absorb more water than petroleum diesel.
Bears are real. I have a cabin and land. Worked my entire life to get it. Now it;s mine. Was sitting on the east side of the cabin drinking a cold one and listening to the radio music. And then like the snap of a finger, out popped a 400lb black bear. he was big. He looked me eyeball to eyeball the entire time, he never blinked. He walked back into the woods like so-what. But he came back...!!! He came back to check me out again. And this time he was all about closing distance. A dead giveaway to an attack, he was not afraid, he was curious. Curious is what gets you killed. Bears are extremely aggressive when curious. A fat bear is a calm bear. A curious bear is not a fat bear. Bears are not built like a dog or a human . A 300-400-500lb bear is like a pitbull a lion and a hog all in one animal. Quick as lighting. So fast it will memorize you. Like slow motion. You ever see a bear near or far, you best be pulling your pistol or loading your rifle and taking the safety off. If you can see him, they know about you too. Depending on what they have eaten lately is the gauge of an attack or not. Believe it or not. Peace.
I measured where I wanted the juice groove and used the measuring guide on the router table and actually just stopped when it reach the correct measurement. Now that method leaves a lot of room for error and so I don’t actually recommend doing it that way. All it would take is just one slip and you ruin it. I have since got a juice groove jig made up that allows you to hold your router and do the groove from the top.
I sent your question over to Hot Shot and this is their response: “Over treating, while not recommended will not result in any harm to the vehicle. We have tested our formula at 4X the recommended treat rate. Overtreating results in diminishing returns. The current performance dose for EDT provides the most economical, and highest performance to cost ratio”
I've had the exact same model of the Bak Flip on my 2017 Silverado for the past 6 years. I highly recommend them and I will most definitely be buying another cover for my next pickup truck, whenever that may be.
I am getting ready to put out another update on it. The only issue I have had is recently one of the strap clasps came off the cover. Other than that, it’s been doing great so far.
I don’t think so, at that point you would need to have service completed to correct the problem. I think it would help to prevent the issue to begin with since they have done research that indicates it does help reduce regeneration frequency.
Nice video. I have the 2021 version of this. I've added floor boards, Barnett clutch cable, different grips, sissy bar, crash bars, and punched out the 1st set of plugs in exhaust. I came from a couple of HD's, and do not tour or camp any longer, so this was a good fit for me. Just ticked off 10,000 on odometer, and have not put a wrench to it yet, besides regular maint. Enjoy the ride.
No, the DEF injector is in an isolated system which only ever comes in contact with DEF fluid. No additives should ever be added to your DEF tank. DEF fluid is sprayed into your exhaust which lowers the nitrogen oxide emissions in diesel engines. DEF is never mixed with diesel and never injected into the engine.
Nice video. Thank you. My dad being 75 years young is looking to get back into riding. He taught me how to ride when I was 12 years old. This is one of the bikes we are looking at for him. Also Honda Rebel 1100, and the Harley Nightser. I've ridden the NIghtser and the Rebel, but not this bike. Going out to an Indian dealer demo ride next week. Looking forward to riding this bike.
I just removed the bunks from my wolfpup 16bhs. - very similar to your bunk plan as the bunks attached to the bathroom wall. I’m told that doing so has compromised the integrity of the structure. The platform was not that sturdy and very easy to remove as it was just screwed in. Do I need to put some sort of brace from the outer wall to the bathroom wall? I don’t get it.
Not sure exactly how yours was laid out but mine had the buildout that housed plumbing and my water heater so that provided stability. Additionally, I had a shelf going across the top that I put in and with the wall that is there that separates the area from the living room, there is not structural integrity issues. Most travel trailers do not make the bunks themselves as structural bracing as many allow you to delete bunks for offices, many use the same layout for the outer shell for many different models that also do not have bunks. I do not know personally if doing the removal voids any warranty or not which I would always recommend checking with the manufacturer.
Just bought a new gmc baby duramax 3.0l. I want to run an additive and narrowed my research down to using hotshots. Do you think it will help with the whole DEF system? That seems to be the weak spot on all modern diesel’s reliability. Thanks for the video.
Sorry for the late response. The DEF system is a totally isolated system separate from Diesel fuel and never comes into contact with the diesel or the engine and is only sprayed into the exhaust system. They do not recommend ever adding an additive to the DEF tank.
@@LivinginAlaska I guess I should have rephrased. I know it can’t be added to DEF. Hot shots advertises that the additive will help reduce soot and the amount of regens. I was just curious if long term it helps overall with these modern diesels. Reduces soot etc which can cause emissions issues down the road.
