Hi im converting a new 8550 to dtf with a ciss , i want to add the ciss before even turning it on for the first time , do you think this posable , what do you recommend ?
I just purchases this and did the setup. At 1st most colors printed except magenta, now magenta is printing, but gray isn't. What should I do.? Brand new out of box. Did cleaning and still showing marks
Great video, thanks! If I installed the chipless firmware with my laptop, is it possible to connect another PC to the chipless printer? Or can I only use the laptop I used for the chipless firmware installation?
Bonjour, la vidéo est très détaillées, merci. Mais j'ai un problème avec la mise a jour du micrologiciel, la mise a jours ne s'effectue pas. Peut tu m'aider ?
OMGGGG!! if I was around you right now, I would KISS YOU!!!! I purchased this printer a few days ago and it converted nicely. However, 24 hours later it notified me that an update was needed, I updated not knowing I shouldn't have. The printer wouldn't recognize 3 of my cartridges afterwards. I have googled for 3 days now trying to find a way around this. I tried all other hacks, but it still would not recognize the new cartridges. I ran across your video about an hour ago, did exactly what you have, and VIOLA!!!! THANNNNKKKK YOU!!! I'm in the middle of a huge T-shirt order and I was about to purchase another printer, just to finish. (Knowing I couldn't afford to) DYNAMITE!!! (in my JJ voice) lol
I want to thank you for making this video. I have watched so many video's about converting my ET 8550. This video is amazing. I really wish I would have found this one first so I would have had a different idea on how to disassemble my printer. Too late but I did enjoy this. I really like the idea of the white ink in the separate tank with the auger. I have not done this one yet but I sure am going to do it now that I see what and how to do it. So thank you again. I am kind of curious as to the brand of ink you used. I am torn as to which one to use because everyone tells you to use theirs if you watch a video and since you didn't, and your prints looked good, I would ask you this. Thanks again Karen
7-14-24, HELLO, I JUST BOUGHT THIS PRINTER, I DON'T SUBLIMATE SHIRTS A LOT, THIS WILL WORK, I DO HAVE AN EPSON SC F170 SUBLIMATION PRINTER, IT GOES UP TO 8.5X14. I CAN USE IT FOR MY MUGS AND TUUMBLERS, PLATES. I WILL SET THIS PRINTER UP MAYBE TOMORROW. THANKS FOR YOUR TUTORIAL, YOU ARE VERY THOROUGH AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. QUESTION CAN YOU REFILL THESE CARTRIDGES BEFORE THEY GET LOW WITHOUT TAKING THEM OUT?
I have successfully updated the printer firmware to a chipless one. But the new chipless firmware does not support A3 format printing, the properties of the updated chipless driver only support A4 formats and smaller. What do you recommend for printing A3, A3+ formats? Where can I download the corresponding driver? I asked this question on the site's forum - but they don't answer.
@@nikkih7638 you can.. you’d have to have chipless firmware installed before you initialize the printer. To do that you’ll have to install the firmware in update mode out of the box.
I downloaded the chipless firmware. After it was finished, I put my new ink cartridges in with my dtf ink and the printer is telling me to "insert ink cartridges" like they aren't there. Need help?
Took off the chips from the original cartridges but I got them mixed up I put em on the new cartridges with the dtf ink but the printer keeps givin me maintenance error
The printer fresh out of the box, I removed tape, plugged in power cord & USB, installed the provided ink cartridges (but skipped the steps of initialising + nozzle check & alignment - 2:20 to 2:30 of the video. 0ops). I went through the steps installing the Epson printer driver & the chipless firmware successful up to 11:50 time in this video. I stopped there and did not proceed to the activation download file so it is not yet extracted/paid/activated. Can I still use the ink cartridges that came with the printer including the chips attached to them just as they are inside the printer without having to retrace steps back to default firmware settings?
No. They asked me to send it in for repair. They said they knew what it was and the only way for them to fix it was for me to ship it to them so they can fix it. I would have to cover the cost of shipping it to them, return shipping, and the repair was $125. I literally used the machine 4 times. If they have a fix for a known issue, then it should be available for the customer to implement, or be covered by the company. I don’t want to spend any more time or money on this machine right now. I may buy another machine in the future but it don’t be another cameo plus.
Not that I know of. You may be able to set up a VM and load it that way but I’m not sure. Or just borrow a windows laptop for the install and return it. Once the firmware is loaded to the printer, you can hook it back up to your Mac and print as you normally would.
Thank you for creating video! I don't know what you mean by "running chipless firmware" though. Knowing that firmware "updates" are nothing more than the manufacturer snooping to see if one is using third party ink and they remotely "kill" the printer if so, I have "firmware updates" turned off (for obvious reasons... I grew sick of having to buy replacement printers because of snoopy assed manufacturers remotely killing my printers because I don't take out a third mortgage to purchase their ink). Is that what you mean by "chipless firmware"? BTW, my collection box has said that it's full before and I've spent a bunch of money replacing them and when I pull them out they look brand new to me. I've never seen a bunch of ink like I see in your video in the collection boxes. I've never seen any ink at all in them and I've changed them three times in my existing WF-4830 printer. I can't help but wonder if, in many cases, this is the manufacturer generating false information in order to get people to purchase collection boxes as they are quite pricey. Obviously, yours were quite full of gunk and ink but mine always perfectly pristine looking when I have been prompted to change them. Thank you very much for any feedback that you can provide! You do a great job with your videos, BTW. They are very informative and easy to follow. 🌞
Thank you so much. Ive been all over youtube searching for this type video. So happy you came up in my search. I havent tried it yet but Im crossing my fingers. Again, Thanks!
Great video, many thanks for your hard work. I followed your step by step instructions with my XP-2100 and finally we are up and running. I couldn't do it without your help.
Make sure that the vent plugs are removed from the cartridges. If not it will print blank. Also make sure that the cartridges are primed. There should be a little ink inside the center circular chamber of the cartridges.
I followed all your directions everything is set up right. My problem is my black ink will not come out and purge sheets and nozzel checks are not working. The other colors are coming out, not fully. They are muted and lines are in it. What do I do? I can not find any videos with issues and resolutions for this printer or one like it.
