I know it really doesn't matter, but a NAPA 1795 oil filter is taller/longer and will do a little better job of filtering the oil. They fit just fine. I've used them for years. Nice 200, good luck with it. I can tell it has been split at one time because of the "Hose" connection on the hydraulic suction tube just behind the rear oil filter. Mine's the same way. There's no way around it when splitting.
@SilverGleaner
@SilverGleaner 4 месяца назад
When I worked at the Allis dealer a few years back in the early 90s, we never cut that tube. Honestly, I don't remember how we split them, but we never cut that tube. I'll have to take a look to see if I can remember.
@SilverGleaner

BTW you can use the same filters as the 7000 series uses that are longer. Both are listed in the book, and I've used both. AGCO filters are Wix, which are what NAPA filters and AGCO is cheaper to buy.
@SilverGleaner
@SilverGleaner 4 месяца назад
I forgot, I've dissected several filters a while back. Some NOS filters from Cenex, some Baldwin, Wix, Fram, AGCO, and Purolator. Baldwin and Cenex were best built with Baldwin being best, IMHO. Wix wasn't far behind. Fram was the poorest, but I didn't have the high-end filter from Fram. Anyhow, Baldwin had more pleats than the rest. It's just a very good filter.

I've got the same exact set up on my 200. Only moved the wedge once in 50 years and I lightly drove a tapered chisel in the expansion slot and it immediately snapped in half. Found one at a salvage yard. Mine is a 74 model with year-a-round cab with heat/air that still works great. I'm 70 now, so I've spent 50 years on my 200 tractor. I see yours has the gated PD control., so it's got to be a 74 or 75 model. In my opinion the 200 with this PD control is the easiest manual shift PD control AC ever made. Also, one of the few models they made with the throttle in the right place. I still farm a little in Kentucky near Lexington. Thanks for sharing the video on a great old Allis.

Hope it serves you well.

@steveogden1829 Yep. The 7010 that was initially supposed to be introduced along with the 7030 and 7050 would have been a bit more modern but I'm told that AC thought it was too expensive at the time. I believe there is a picture of a maroon belly 7010 in one of my Allis books written by a former AC employee. BTW it's no treat to change the batteries out on a 4020 when it has a cab. BTDT.

Nice tractor, how much horsepower is it rated at?
@SilverGleaner
@SilverGleaner 5 месяцев назад
@raymiller9391 Allis advertised the 200 at 93 hp. They didn't test it at Nebraska Test facilities, I think because the 200 was supposed to be a short-term production, and it was basically a beefed up 190XT, which tested at 93 hp. From reading about Allis Chalmers in books written by a former employee, the 200 tested closer to 110 hp when tested by Allis Chalmers itself. When I worked at an Allis dealership back in the 90s, the older employees told me that they never tested a new 200 that had less than 110 hp with the exception of one that somehow gotten a 185 pump installed on it. Allis Chalmers quickly rectified that situation. The 7010 was supposed to start production in 1973 to replace the 200 but that was delayed because of costs, and the 200 was produced into 1975 and then was replaced with the 7000, which was an updated 200 with new tin. The 7010 didn't get produced until about 1979.

Is that a grassed waterway? Well done. I work with farmers for our local water resource districts. So many farmers are unwilling to give a square foot to grassed waterways or our new law of having 6feet of grass between field and ditch, usually the farm into the ditch and every spring go into the ditch yo recapture their top soil eroded away. Interesting you have tiled fields but a 10,000 tractor. Old tractor wony hurt your yields but drain tile will really give you a headstart, and protect your crop from drowning
@dennislindquist1379
@dennislindquist1379 Год назад
Yes, thank you. It only makes sense to have that waterway or there would be a 2 foot deep rut in its place. The field could use a bit more tile because the hills get a little wet. It was tiled in 1973 and some more added a couple years later but the hills were left untouched. The land doesn't belong to me so I just have to live with it for now. Some people don't realize how a tiled field is better for the ground water because tiling limits erosion and keeps your fertilizers and chemicals towards the surface rather then letting the water pull the nutrients and chemicals into the ground water.

I had a custom harvester one time show me. how to cut some of the flighting off the auger, so that the flighting space in the center was the same width as the feeder house opening , and it made the crop not have to bunch up so much in the center. If you look at draper heads, the center belt is the same or about the same width as the feeder house.

Interesting...... I notice my auger flighting is cut back some so the flighting isn't so tall in the center but there is still flighting there. From my observation, the bunching is happening just behind the knife until the bunch is big enough for the auger to grab it. It was worse this year than any I have ever seen due to the green stems being greener than I've ever had before. The neighbor could only go 2 mph with his 9600 Deere and 30 foot head and my other neighbor was going pretty slow with his 2366 and 20 foot head and he waited almost 2 weeks longer before he tried it. My one neighbor could only go 2 mph with his 9600 Deere with 30 foot flex head and a friend of mine could only do about 3 mph with his S680 and 35 foot draper with an air bar.
