People do this at my local lake and still don't catch them. I use mice tails with trout attractant and tiny hooks with 2 pound line ill catch trout before you do any time of any day. Had people come cast literally right over the top of me and not catch them while i walk away with my limit lmao.
I've not tested it, but please research your local laws. In some places, throwing anything, other than your line, into the water to attract trout, even pebbles, can mean a potential fine or confiscation. Thanks for commenting. ~ Trout Ninja
I do have a strategy for catching stocked trout in a pond. Put something hook shaped on the end of a string and throw it, pull back toward yourself, throw, pull, repeat.

See what i did with your info: Could very easily attach a coke can to a reed or stick, whatever, using 2 cable ties, a plastic bottle head + cap, 20 mm conduit or rolled plastic cut from a plastic coke bottle and then box taped. It's a Carolina rig your using. You can also use a small hypodermic needle to put a bit of air into a piece of worm, wax worm, or small minnows and the bait floats above the bottom on top of the weeds. Use the smallest needle you can buy. And a little air and FISH ON!
