I always had a crush on Michael Landon, even as a little girl. I'm a lady, not a guy. It's funny, too, Charles' facial expression when Laura gave Almanzo her answer about the church social!!!! 😂😂😂
Michael Landon’s acting in these Almanzo scenes was beyond words. How he managed the most perfectly hysterical facial expressions every time… it adds so much to the scene. I miss this show.
I was just watching a reunion with the cast on another channel here,they were asking each person what their favorite episode was ,Dean Butler said it was where he and Melissa Gilbert’s character kissed for the first time,because they had to stop her mother was on set ,and every time it was time for the kiss ,Dean Butler said her mother would “ start wailing ,”i also heard that Melissa Gilbert was uncomfortable because of this age gap,but the kisses were always sweet and chaste in my opinion .
This is a sweet love story between laura and almanzo. They stick together especially when almanzo had a stroke and was bitter not excited about the birth of baby rose. He had to learn how to walk again. He made a full recovery and laura and almanzo grew even closer.
Do you think it would be possible to make a series such as Little House on the Prairie succeed on television today? People are so occupied by other things perhaps there would be an interest in going back to the past when times were simpler. Not necessarily easier just simpler.
Dean Butler made a perfect Almanzo Wilder. He went on to play other roles but this had to be extremely important to him as a young actor, only 21 and just finishing college. He obviously was good at what he did. His voice is pleasant always, and his recollections of his first appearance in little house was funny. Coming into a series. In season six had to be hard. There was at least an eight year difference in age between dean butler, and Melissa Gilbert, who play Almanzo and Laura. That had to be quite an experience for both actors. She was only 15 years old and he was already a man. with many more life experiences. She had spent most of her used as a young television star from the time she was nine years old and quite likely was thoroughly professional at the age of 15 I could easily handle anything. Girls grew up fast in that era and always got married a lot earlier than today. They often are school teachers, so it is quite realistic having a 15-year-old get her for school. in real life, my lesson Gilbert had many bad relationships. I think she is finally much happier today living on a very large farm area in northern New York State in the Catskills mountains. Hopefully she has found happiness now, even though her grand children and grandchildren are in California.
