Great video. Super informative. You mentioned about calibrating your testing tools like a refractometer and Hanna. Is it possible to recalibrate a Hanna checker?
Awesome breakdown on testing chemistry parameters! Reefability is launching soon with the most advanced AI technology to give hobbyists even deeper insights. Beyond just chemistry, we analyze how bioload, biomass, and microbiome interact to fine-tune your reef’s health and optimize nutrient export practices. Excited to see how Reefability will make testing and managing reef tanks easier and more comprehensive!
Im going to have to do some measuring, but am wondering if the smaller of these would work in one of the chambers in an AIO tank, such as the Fluval that i have... it might also be an option for a 29g that i hope to set up this winter.... cheers
I didn't see a way to mount it or hang it on the glass of a sump...that's kinda needed if you don't plan to sink it in a sump which I'd rather not do as space can be limiting
Hey Blaine! your educated opinion.. what is a better skimmer option for our new red sea s950! Either we purchase a Reef octo 200int or a Nyos 220. Will be a fowlr tank
In my opinion with the idea of a FOWLR system go big as possible! I will say I am a huge fan of the Reef Octopus 150INT that I am using in my system at home! Highly recommend! I'd also consider a roller mat as well for the system to help with nutrients levels and floating particulates. -Blaine
I got mine and i liked it..but it is a pain in the @s to install it. I mean doing trial and error to hit the perfect water level. I do not have the reefATO+ and been using the stock ATO but what i noticed is that it is not compatible with the NanoMat. The water level should really be low. I tried taking out tank water, the Nanomat works but when the stock ATO adds water, the water level will be high again…sadge
I know pulsing Xenia is a big no from many hobbyists because of they taking precious real estate but I do remember when I first got into reefing. How mesmerizing those corals were to me. How cool and nothing else like it. So I definitely appreciate them. They definitely were some of the 1st corals that got me into corals period. I used to be fish only. Thanks for sharing! 💯👏👌🙌🔥
Hard not to go back and appreciate the corals that first got you into the hobby. I know just the thought of an all Xenia nano is such a fun concept! Thanks for tuning in and leaving a comment! -Blaine
Really like these videos! Keep up the great work. Would be great to show the specific corals under different lighting like more white spectrum. I use this information to select corals for my specific tank.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Really enjoy the videos we make here in the Top Shelf farm, that is a great point! Something I will try and incorporate into our content for sure! -Blaine
@@TopShelfAquaticshow about a top 10 featuring tanks, equipment , testing, food, supplements etc. love the top 10 with livestock, just thought this might be something to consider
If I want to keep Xenia in an island, won’t it pop out a baby outside of the island eventually? That’s what happened with a Pally island I created. Great video!
All about making sure you are staying on top of it! Watching to make sure anytime matting gets loose that no patches are floating off! Thanks for tuning in! -Blaine
