Providing this work well enough, which they look like they do, this may be the best budget adjustable dumbbell by far. Everything else is $400ish if not quite a bit more for the same weight, and I was prepared to spend as much, was looking at NordicTrack or CoreHomeFitness ones, I'm sure those are "better" dumbbells but it's weight, as long as it works and weighs what it's supposed to weigh, that's all I need.
How you like it so far? I’m thinking about getting this as well. It’s a cheaper option than the fold up version and seems to be just as good of quality.
A little late but jist got this yesterday and i really like them. Great review and thanks for demoing them. I need a second set but I'll have to alternate for now. I musta missed the sale.
There is a single and double pack. It was costing about 99 dollars for one. They had a special running for bit about buying two, but not sure if it is still going.
I got one of these and i love it. Best dumbell ive had compared to the old school traditional ones. i love how fast it is to switch the weights out. replaces a whole rack of space. so nice
They are longer than a normal dumbbell and the weights rattle some, but never had a problem with the weights falling out. They have held up for over a year for me.
Here is walmart link if you want the stand and 2 dumbbells. Was only 219. A really good price. www.walmart.com/ip/FitRx-SmartRack-and-SmartBells-Set-Dumbbell-Weight-Rack-Stand-with-Two-Quick-Select-5-52-5lbs-Adjustable-Dumbbells/1916800591?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=222222222281916800591_14069003552_202077872&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=aud-2225087348867:pla-295289030566&wl5=9016050&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=1916800591&veh=sem&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwnv-vBhBdEiwABCYQA9i6lndJqP1ajShdBNC-nYJl8TQZUw2tqPrrAzNMUnq0iy0ndmvixhoCS00QAvD_BwE
Landed here for a solid review of these. Headed to the brick and mortor today to see how they feel. You might think about posting a "1-year update" at the top of the description or pinning as the top comment...(Edit: LOL, just went back to search results and saw your "1 year update". Again, maybe link on this page as this video shows up first in results.)
Thanks for the review I’m going to this Facebook seller with that one it actually comes with the stand now I got buying confidence that it ain’t no pos 🤙🏽
Your weights don't stay attached? I would totally send it back. Mine have been working great for over a year now. I would not be using them if mine kept falling out, so maybe they can get you a different set.
i'm having major issues with figuring out how to lock them for moving/storage. Mine didn't come with any usage guide or instructions (also bought from Walmart) so i used trial & error to figure out that the best chance is to slide the gear to between 52.5 and 0 but even then i've had the entire bottom collapse dumping ALL the plates almost crushing my foot twice and gouging a piece out of my floor. Is there some super obvious thing i'm missing on how to lock them? I can't even take them in and out of a closet before and after a workout without them spilling. I'm frankly scared to workout with them. I did skullcrushers my last workout and it was more suspenseful than a Hitchcock movie. Each rep i thought would make the move literal. Any help would be appreciated!
Oh no! You have a ton going on there! Be Safe! When I move them around, I usually put it at 52.5 so all the weights are connected to the dumbbell, and they slide around easier in the rack. If the weights are falling out, I would maybe reset the dumbbell. Since both ends work independently, they can get misaligned. There are two white buttons on the underside of the dumbbell. Put the dumbbell on 5 pounds so it has no weights attached. Then I would hold those buttons in, and adjust weight locks to make sure both sides are aligned-you can see the numbers moving on the handle as well. If they aren't, one side could lock in and the other would not be. Goodluck! Let me know how it goes.
I didn't know the stand wasn't big enough for the XL model. What do you think of them? My local sporting goods store. Dicks sporting goods, sells a generic dumbbell rack that should fit them. I would try that.
@@nicoshealthtips so far they are great. I had PowerBlocks before so these, as you said, are a bit bigger and need getting used to. I also had troubles putting the dumbbells back onto the stand. But once I get them working, they are good. Hoping that the stand will make changing the weights a bit smoother. I will look into dickies. Do you have a name for the stand you are looking at?
Glad to hear about the weights. The stand I was looking at was made by powerblock. it was around 100 dollars. The stand was large enough to hold the larger fitrx dumbbells.
@laurensmitty5850 i believe it is black. It's rated to hold 90 pound dumbells. Their Powermax stand. vs. their compact one, which is only rated to hold 50 pound dumbbells.
I would check the weights. If one isn't aligned with the others, it may cause the dumbbell to not go in straight out easy. If it only happens right before it snaps down, i would make sure the metal piece on the weight is sliding in well on the dumbell. You can take out the weights and try each plate individually. Use the white plastic button on dumbbell to release it or reset the alignment on the dumbbell.
Thanks for making this video. I'm ordering the 10 to 90 ones for my home gym. EDIT AFTER USING THE 10-90s FOR A LITTLE OVER 30 DAYS: There is a plastic piece on the base that guides the weight onto the pin that allows you to switch weights. This plastic piece broke on one of the bases after about 30 days of use. I contacted the seller and they said they don't offer replacement parts and recommended I return it. I liked these at first but ended up returning them at my local Walmart a little over a month after getting them because of the issue with the plastic piece on the base.
@@nicoshealthtipsI'll let you know. They're supposed to arrive this weekend. I've trained for years at a gym with regular dumbbells, and excited to try the adjustable ones out at home.
@@nicoshealthtips I've done a couple workouts with the 10-90s now. It's my first set of adjustable dumbbells so there is a little learning curve during the first workout, but now I've got the hang of them. And my impression so far is these are awesome. I would recommend them.
I bought a pair of bowflex adjustable dumbbells from Walmart for $400! For some reason I decided to type in “adjustable dumbbells” on google and Fitrx dumbbells shows up on Walmarts website for $99 each. I was like “oh hell nah. I’m returning these bowflex!”. my pair of the fitrx should be arriving tomorrow”
@@nicoshealthtips I absolutely love them so far. I had to replace an old pair of 35lbs I had. They were in my old semi truck before I got rid of it lol. Anyways these adjustable dumbbells were a great purchase. They replace a whole rack of individual dumbbells and they more than get the job done. I wish I got these sooner.
I haven't broken one open. But the weight is a hard plastic. Doesn't seem like metal on the inside. Without breaking it, i honestly don't know if it is plastic all the way or something else.
That really hasn't been an issue. But one time while the weight was racked i had to put it back to 5, pull it out and rotate the handle until i could remove all the weights and rerack it.
Hi! I have had no issues with them supporting my weight. Here is a video I did earlier this year with the push ups while holding the dumbbells. Thanks for watching. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sEYFtyrPKHc.htmlsi=DkDFgIB8_sxp3oMA
@@nicoshealthtipsSo you have had these for a year now have you maxed out on the weights yet (52.5lbs) ? If purchasing again would you have still bought the 5-52.5lb version or purchased the 10 to 90lb xl version?
@paulloren66 for how i use these i don't walk away missing more weight, but i also use a barbell for heavier lifts. If i was buying for the first time it would be hard to pass up more weight, but I'm happy with what i have.
