6:20 - Just scroll over on your side imaging screen and mark the actual location of that musky instead of guessing. Use your electronics to their full capacity! Silly Chase!
I fish by myself from Canada to Florida Keys. Always have your own Hook Release Gear including 16.5” Channel Lock Straight Jaw Pliers, De-Hooking Gloves, Water for rinsing wounds and your own complete First Aid Kit. They also make “finger cots” which are like little condoms that help keep a bleeding finger wound from messing the boat up when you still want to fish but have to keep the wound clean. I have had to help many fisherman due to hooks. I have removed hooks from hands, fingers, calf, back, leg and a little jig just above a little girl’s eye! The hook to the hand was the only one on my boat and the hook in a finger was me when fishing a smallmouth stream! Funny thing is they ALWAYS want a photo before I remove the hook (except the girl and me)! Glad Gavin was able to tough it out. St Croix Rods rock. Probably have 15 freshwater spinning and baitcasting rods of theirs. Be well. Enjoy the videos.
Hey thanks for the comments and views! Yes we have the tools and the first aid kits as well. Unfortunately Gavin got hit with an open mouth full of teeth doing the damage. Nasty one but came to a full recovery haha. Even though he isn’t fond of his own blood. All good now.
Chase, i had one jump out of the net while still hooked, had to fight and net a 2ed time! Throwing a single hook bait is heavy heavy cover so no trebles to catch the bag and pin the fish in. Good lesson learned.
Those super natural baits are awesome. Try showing the musky actually grabbing the matlock on livescope. That would be some crazy footage. Keep up the great vids. I enjoy and learn some valuable info from them 👍
Awesome season; my favorite one yet! Chase mentioned you guys like to run 12” headlocks at 31’ back. Looked like you were using mid pin and 80lb braid too, correct?
I’ll be honest I don’t remember what the water temps were but a week away from freeze up. Trolling speeds around 3.2 and 3 after dark. Thanks for the questions!
Hey thanks for the question. We both use single strand wire for all baits. Wire has way less chance of failure and muskies don’t care about leaders. Hope this helps answer your question and thanks for the view.
Well when we’re filming the verado is way quieter so we don’t run the kicker. Audio is always an issue so that’s why. Thanks for the question and support!
Which rod for the Quad Brad? Blue Ox? I know if it is a prototype you are sworn to secrecy, hoping for a 9.5 or 10’ version before my 10 day LSC trip late summer. These grasp seats really help with the tennis elbow.
Haha great question. The blue ox is a great rod for heavy rubber so that would be the go to. I was using the new prototype and it will be the way to go in the near future. Hope this answers your question and thanks for the support.
Just left the show at Wausau, and this is on. Good thing I probably would have had more on my shopping list. Great video, cold weather fishing is rewarding. I caught my personal best Brown trout river wading in 0 degree weather. Things you do when you are young and dumb! 😂
Ah bummer but the good news is tro has free shipping on show weekends. Way too many great custom baits and other goodies to even decide. Thanks for the support and comments.
Great break down on using the electronics. Even the EVIL Livescope! 😂 I really think Chase might turn out to be a good fisherman someday 🤣 Great show you guys are hitting it out of the park this year. Or maybe hitting it into the net might be a better term. 🤔
I commented the other day that I didn't have the attention span for these long videos. A few hours of viewing time later and I wish they were longer lol. I'm hooked! Great stuff
LEARNED TONS from Matt! TOP FISHERMAN even though we've never met" All the OG" videos from VDL and SUPERNATURAL and THORNE bros. TOO BAD MOST ARE long gone off the internet? When MATT TALKS I STOP AND LISTEN! JUST LIKE ON THIS VIDEO" IDAHO TIGER'S ARE MORE LIKE 25,000 CASTS!
