Hey! Awesome tip. Thank you. What is the plant on the other hanging pot?? 9:30

the brown or purple color is just a temporary stress color, and can be caused by thirst and temp changes as well as getting increased sun. it’s not simply “too much sun”…as long as the plant is acclimated properly (especially the pale etiolated plants) & gets enough water (with good drainage), they can take full sun in most places. Aloes are partial to full sun plants, depending on variety & environment. thin, curled leaves are signs of thirst so the “too much light” plant was more likely just not getting enough water for the amount of sun it was getting.

Thank you! I love crotons and have bought a lot of them. The ones with these have done really well and the ones that didn't have given me all sorts of problems, so now I'm to the point of only buying crotons where I can see this around the stem of the plant.

For me, Bonsai Jack's full gritty mix. I often mix this gritty mix with my other soil for a lot of other cacti but for the lithops it's straight

Mine always end up rotting, I’ve tried so many times and had so many failures. Should the soil be kept moist or dry or what am I doing wrong?

Everytime when i am repotting plants they have it and it chokes out the growth and it does not disintegrate. I was told by a greenhouse staff that they use them when making up flower baskets so that they do not overgrow the pots they are selling to you. It allows the shelf life for sale be a lot longer and it prevents a situation where they would have to repot. Basically expect that you have to cut them off and likely have to replant as you will need more soil as these root mesh pods also helps them save on soil. I know this is a very old video but a very good one.

I just got one myself from the 2 dollar rack at walmat. The one i got was super dry though. I put it in a gigh drainage succulent mix, drenched it, and let it drip dry out. Today it still seems fine so after seeing this i am hoping the next few days will be ok. I live in a desert and the humidity of my home is now 26 percent so i think i am going to be okay.

Was searching for a reason I was sent tissues along with a fabric pot purchase. I guess the "tissues" would be useful if I wanted to start seedling this way. This video was so helpful because I'd never heard of this 🙂

I came here because mine was the bunch of straight ones that I picked up at Kroger a couple of years ago but over the last few months, lots of new growth was going on and I wanted to know about separation. I'm very excited about the pups now! The cuttings can go back into a pot together again but I'm really looking forward to seeing the pups grow into the plants they were meant to be!

A lithops pro told me that he spray or water them slightly especially in spring doesn’t matter if they split or not! What do you think about this?

Thanks a lot Ashley, I got a lithops and it is potted in a DIY potting mix, that allows a lot of drainage, its been a couple of weeks and there seems to be no change. When it arrived it had almost no roots. Should I transfer it to an all perlite mix?

What if a new one pops out but the old leaves are still insanely plump from overwatering at the store. I have been keeping them dry for weeks but they haven’t shrunk at all… in those cases would it be beneficial to cut off some of the plump old leaves?

that cooperi deff need some light XD thats why it streched so much. its a balance for cooperi to not giving it too much light that it turns red/brown but also not too little to get a streched resoult

Perfect timing! I got a small ric rac a few months ago at a plant swap but didn't know anything about it. Put it in my (mostly) cactus garden and it's undoubtedly been getting too much sun and not enough water. Will be repotting and repositioning it today!

What kind of light should they have? I know you said windows seal. I didn’t great if it is ok for direct sun. I have one in the bathroom and it doors pretty good.. My first time having them I went and separated them.. so mine are way safer and skinnier but they are starting to fan out but I would love to know I’d they can have direct light or just shaded sun? Ty so much!
