Yeah i felt the same, that the Game is sometimes way to easy, but For me the anomaly Expansion completly fixed this by adding the Challenger cards, maybe thats an Expansion that would make the Game Even more fun for ya
I noticed this in the last video, but sometimes the monster whiffs actually help you more! like at 30:51, you would have gotten to give the Faraviata an extra d6 of damage according to the stat block, although it didn't really matter here. In the last video, i think you would gotten an extra attack and avoided some damage if I remember correctly.
What kind of marker do you use on your Chessex mat? I got wet-erase markers for overhead projectors, recommended in the instructions, and unless you wipe it off immediately they do not come out. Great video. This looks really fun.
So just tried to start this last night and have to admit was fun but extremely frustrating because I didn't print out any Tables on where the tables could be found. That was 100% the worst part. The ones you are using the 2 sheets of paper that are front and back printed. Where in the PDF did you get those? For tonight after work I only printed out the Loot Tables sheet as well as lvl 1&2 tables. Seems like it should be enough but the ones you have printed reference A LOT more from what I can see on the video of them.
Great play! I was wondering how the Rogue's exploration ability worked. You never used it (and the other playthroughs, they weren't very good unless you played with more than one person I believe), so can you not use it to skip unfavorable cards/rooms and use your combat ability? Is that why you never used it?
Dude? I just wanna say that I love your vids - other youtubers go on for about 1 and a 1/2 hrs about - er - stuff before they play the game. I watched - well, skipped forward alot - one youtuber, 1 hour 40 mins in a 'playthrough' vid and they didn't even start an adventure. So 1 hour and 40 mins and who knows what the game loop is... But yours? Here's where you buy it, here's the cost, here's how to role a character, now lets play. Beautiful. I was in two minds over D100 or 2D6 but I've decided on D100 first (might get and play 2D6 later, or maybe 4 against darkness?) because of your vids. Thank you man, you've done me a solid, you really have. And believe it or not? But I'm not going to buy the pc software... There's something about looking at tables and seeing that Spider Queen or Vamp bats or weapons or armour before you roll? And the geography or search tables? (should I run this for the quest or just get loads of drops, bail and, because it's half the cash but the items retain their value, search every room and hope for items...? Sell them all and look for more armour pieces? Then go hard for the Quest? Ya know?) I haven't even bought it yet and I'm already invested. Thank you buddy, seriously, thank you. And yes, I'll keep my combat tracker going till it's full! :D
Hi there. I'm really enjoying this series. I can tell you were too. By the way, is there any place I could have a look at your set up? It is sick and I am thinking about doing something similar as I really love solo games! Thanks a lot ❤
Hi, very interesting video! Where did you find the manual you are using during this game? It's not the default manual inside the original box. Could you share it?
I love your videos! You explain things so well it's both entertaining and educational. I finally beat my forst game of final girl after watching your videos. I already had this games PDF for the entry to try but was a bit intimated by it but after having watched you I am ready to give it a try.
It's infectious watching someone play something and have a good time. It makes you want to have the same experience. Great job showing off the game and making it fun for others.
You're 100% right, I guess I just missed the best thing that could have happened that round. Good catch! :D For clarity, from the FAQ: Q: Flipping a die with the mage in group combat. How is it handled? A: After a hero has rolled his dice, the wizard decides if he wants to flip a die of this roll. He can flip only one die in a combat round. A flipped die can be combined with a helmet. boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Legends_of_Andor_FAQ
Are you looking for this link: drgames.co.uk/2d6-3rd-party-licence ? drgames.co.uk/dr-games-online-shop/ should have everything (first party) currently available. If any 3rd party stuff is being made, it's "online, somewhere".
OMIGOD it runs so laggy just to start I've had to manually kill it each time because it literally mungs up the screen and it heads into GOD ALONE knows where program loop. Oh, this is gonna be FUN
Just purchased from Drivethru… I was under the impression that this was an introductory/ simple roll-and-write but it’s actually quite complex! It really caught my interest!
Well played!! You played the dungeon on "medium", that's why you started with an extra camping gear and luck. Also, you get +1 to ability checks and combat. So you noticed that you passed a couple of checks where the roll was 1 above the ability. And For the monsters, they get 1 less AV than normal. Also, you were trying to figure out how to get those Boots of Agility on the Trader, one thing you could do is let the trader discard the Boots and then use your Forge Armor to get it for free.
@@CeePhour I feel like the 2 & 3 D10 solution is just soo much better to scale difficulty. Wish we had thought of that previously. It actually came from a suggestion on a 1e review video.
In your bag of player pieces, what mix of pieces have you built up? I was thinking of doing similar and wanted an idea of the range and numbers of pieces you have.
There wasn't a lot of thought behind the numbers, mostly "did someone model these pieces and could I potentially use them?" It's a healthy mix though. imgur.com/a/9PfF9ok
First time watching any of the vids. long time listener of gamer finally seeing the face behind the voice all these years later. Looking to get into some good tabletop gaming and this game looks interesting
You were asking about the Wolfsbane, you would in fact get the 3 XP in addition to the 1 XP for the Wolf. I think you didn't get the 1 XP there. You did the Flute (eventually) and Magic Mirror correctly! I think there was 1 XP missed on a Holy Water somewhere.
I came prepared! 😆Being able to exploit the Fireball scroll with the Book to reclaim it from Discard was too good! Having played this a few times now I definitely feel there is a balance to not getting too wrecked by the regular enemies while you build up an arsenal for the boss. I have been slaughtered on floor 1 quite a few times. I also lucked out with loads of weapons this run.
@@HybbanI wish the Steam version had the 2E rules, but it also adds a campaign, which I have barely looked at so far but looks super fun. Unfortunately it does look look like it may only receive art updates and no mechanisms. Also, it plays just fine, the 2E rules aren't drastically different in a way that makes 1E a poor experience. It's a blast AND plays fast! I just started playing the campaign and am have a great time. steamcommunity.com/app/1822640/discussions/0/7625232196034816896/
Not sure if anyone has said this before, but as far as oil, food, and picks go instead of marking them and erasing, can you just mark them as you go along? Also this video is making me buy the pdf to start playing.
I think the easiest thing would be to draw yourself a tracker on a note card and move cubes around. I had a whole dry/wet erase thing going and it just worked well to not have to manage cubs as well as pens.
Great gameplay video! Although so far at 19:24 I noticed that you played zero cost cards and then just added them back for your next action when they shouldn't have been available until the next planning phase. Common mistake though.
The only bad part of this game is if you dont have a big table you gotta play floor style 😂 but this game is very fun and hard when you have to go and delete 3 farmers on tile 67 and remove 3 runestones or smth while 5 gors are already near the place you need to protect
after we rescued all the civilians by round four, maybe was round five if I remember we lost interest it’s like why are we still playing this and we still had half the game to go still which was gonna be another two hours?
Nice! For anyone who wants tips: Don't be afraid to take 1 damage from traps on level 1. Especially when your hero starts with 6 health. Try to avoid using luck to reroll in general. Use it when it's guaranteed to change the outcome. You can spend loot to pass checks after the roll, so on the maze, roll first and you might keep your loaf of bread, same with the lockpick on the prison cell. On the maze, you had 2 intellect, so there's a chance you roll a 3 and actually draw a loot card instead of taking damage. You really, really wanted to trade for the wise man, if for no other reason than to save your sellsword from the sirens. I would definitely use a shield scroll before using gauntlet of power as a strength hero. You might have forgotten you had the scroll. You can use armor or the shield scroll or even (as of 2nd edition) a henchman to block trap damage. When you camped on level 4, not only like Albert said you were safe because of blessed, you could have walked back to the stairs to ensure you didn't draw a monster. I love that you ended up with a complete set of armor for a two-headed hero at some point. For the boss, you might have been better off spending your XP on luck and maybe hand of god than strength.
Excellent! These are all great insights and hopefully anyone seeing your comments remembers them. They make perfect sense and would have made things much better for this play.
