Hey Everybody! I started this channel to showcase my vintage computer collection! Videos will include rebuilds, system reviews, software reviews, ect... Basically anything retro computer related. Hope you all enjoy!
If you have any questions regarding retro hardware, software, systems, etc... or you have a suggestion for stuff you guys would like me to discuss/review on the channel, I would love to hear from you guys! You can contact me via email at: jontech95@gmail.com
I appreciate all the support from you guys, and I hope to keep doing this channel for many years to come!
I think the best thing to do is watch other RU-vid videos and take note of what works and what doesn't. The Northgate will be a decent video, showing some details on the PC, tell the story of the PC/how you got it, what it's issue is and how you fixed it. Some of us just love seeing something broken and seeing it back working again. Same with that Microchannel PC, lots of story to tell about the different cards, how much the hardware is and what could you actually do with the system once it is fixed. Love the videos man! Keep it up! Congrats on the College as well.
I used to have Mr. BIOS on majority of my old PC's from 286, 386, 486 and even 586 from OCTEK They were and still are the FASTEST bootable BIOS even compared to today... I seriously wish they still existed...
Good luck to you with school. I enjoy anything you post really since you focus on retro. A lot of things you can do for example review software or some retro games, showing us the lan parties and of course building retro computers.
Kudos. I went back to school in my early 30s to finish college. My first PC was a Northgate. I still have a Northgate glass mug that was included with my (parent’s) purchase.
Good for you buddy, I went back to school recently after over 20 years so I’m glad you got back sooner. You won’t regret it, I wish I would have done more to better myself and get away from the idea that education doesn’t matter. I’ll keep watching no matter how often you put something up.
Even though i don't know Clint personally, (i would love to meet him one day) when i saw the way Helene was tracking towards NC, i got very concerned for him. Been watching him for years, and im extremely glad hes okay and safe and hope he can get back to normal (and back to LGR) very soon! My thoughts and prayers are with him
Sad thing is that he lives no where near the coast. It’s so rare to have that much damage inland. LGR deserves our support for all the amazing content and joy he’s brought to the community 😢
I was stunned when this popped up on my youtube page, and I had to watch this video aswell his recent video posted a few hours ago. One of my favorite youtubes. Bless him and his family, he said that he and his family are doing well. Thanks for posting this.
Really sad his home was badly damaged but like others I thought it was his health. It's a shame as he done a video about moving to this home. Hope you're up and running soon Clint.
I dont like to rant or bash the dude or anyone but this is nothing new really, his place even without the bad weather had bad rep of people not doing their jobs or doing it badly also seems like the infrastructure is a complete mess or doesn't really exist at times, heavily outdated. So the things like no water, electricity, internet or just being awful quality is nothing new. Idk how people can pay tax for all that and live in such a mess but they did, so I am sure they got use to it, granted this is on a bigger scale. Obviously. He mentioned this in few videos through the years, people who lived there also told these things and shown. Like not having water for weeks, months etc in such a "developed place" is beyond crazy. I think this is the great opportunity to collect some insurance or something out of this and use it to finally move the hell out of that place.
I don't know if he changed things around, but he did, at one point, have his "set," so to speak, in an offsite storage facility. While I'm sure he lost thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars worth of valuable retro stuff, I doubt it was all completely lost. That said, I'll echo the truth of the matter and say, above all else, it is just stuff. Clint and his family are the priority, and their being safe is the most important thing.
Oh shit this sank my heart the second I read the title. So relieved it's only his house.. didn't realize he was in the path of the hurricane. Hope his storage units are all undamaged.. and anything rare and sentimental in his house was saved. Losing your possessions, especially collectible ones you've gathered over years of your life, feels so devastating. But losing people and pets, even your own shelter, that's even worse.
Yea the storm was nuts. :/ our techs have been working on repairing damage in multiple states. If there is a go fund me or maybe it might be a good time to sign up for patreon or up the pledge. It’s weird me and my wife were talking about LGR a few days ago, even our youngest child is a big fan.
Awful news, Clint had not lived in his new home for very long and was just getting it as he wanted it. Thank god he is safe, yes losing property is bad, but it can be replaced, human life can't. Thinking of him at this dreadful time, hopefully he can get through this and come back stronger.
Love him a lot! Well wishes to Clint and his folks, good to hear they are okay but it's of course devastating to lose so much. I don't live there, but it's really horrible how storm ravaged the US has gotten.
Knew about north carolina and ashville weather troubles, little thought about . At least he's Ok ! Last he seperated home and business locations , so ex ept his house wich is your most dear, he hopefully can recover most well !
I have watched Clint for a few years helped me though some low times, i am glad to hear he's safe and family are. Im over in the uk and i can not imagine having the weather you guys can have. The dude is a really nice guy. Peace out brother and try and stay Sunny side up. From me and my dog Max in the UK. 🙂
I met Clint last year at VCF Midwest. Great guy, love his content! I wish him all the best from here in the Netherlands. Hopefully he can start rebuilding his house soon.
