Just curious, but when you were sewing the ribbon, did you only sew the bottom edge that was near the edge of the felt and not the top as well? Would it be better to get some wide ribbon and sort of encase the raw edge? Like sew the top part of the ribbon, fold it over the raw edge and sew that bottom part as well?

Ah, I also want to ask, what type of ribbon did you use for the hat? There's different types (like satin, grosgrain etc) and I don't know which one to get. Thanks in advance!
I love this tutorial! thank you, it would be perfect for a beginner like me. i can probably can make a sailor hat by using white fabric and blue ribbon :^) Does if fall off without elastic, or is it fine without it? thanks!
That sounds super cool! And it would only need elastic if the hole was cut a bit bigger by mistake but for me it fits great and no elastic was used! :D
