I'm a British gamer and lover of strategy and FPS. Currently playing Escape from Tarkov, and I love helping out new players understand the game.
I started creating content for EFT at the beginning of 2020, with the aim to help those new or learning to get into Tarkov and be successful, as the learning curve is very steep for newcomers to the game.
Be sure to stick around for more EFT content, as I'll be putting up new videos regularly!
Some of the most important information you need to know to avoid dying in Tarkov distilled into a video under 15 minutes. Perfect! Thank you for doing what you do.
The only time I think raising or lowering your weapon should ever make any noise is when you're red bar on arm stamina as your character would more likely drop it with less control...Absolutely hilarious that tilting your head can be heard from 23 meters away...Tarkov universe youd get a noise complaint for nodding your head in an apartment
Sounds in this game is literal garbage. How they have been in beta for so long with the sounds being so bad is just beyond me. How can enemies hear me but I can't hear myself make a noise? Why are my own footsteps so loud? Why am I unable to determine if someone is above me or below me? Why do I need to stay still to hear people over my own breathing/footsteps/aiming in sights? Why does aiming down sights give away my position? Just unacceptable joke in a game that argues realism whenever they do something.
why in the world can ADS and gun manipulation be heard from so far away?!? they should just make the sounds realistic and then adjust from there was better gameplay needs instead of whatever the heck they're doing now
i think all headsets should just be EQ filters. like some reduce gravel sounds or make audio more base-y. stuff like that. otherwise i think headsets are not needed at all with all these audio issues
Hey I need advice as i cant hand my gun into the trader does anyone know why? Ive checked multiple guids and done it exactly how they said too and it still doesnt work! There is no ammo in the gun or mag nor is it below 80 durability! Ive even tried it with fresh guns and it still doesnt work 😢
The wind and ambiance is just insanely loud for no reason at all whatsoever. Can even hear wind indoors, as if it's always storming. This game genuinly affects my hearing inrl in a negative way. Being outdoors for too long really ''hurts'' my ears.
turn your ingame sound down to around 70%, the last 30% is mostly increasing ambient noise. also look into an equalizer/compressor program that lets you adjust the decibels at different frequencies and also make quiet sounds (like footsteps) louder and loud sounds (like gunshots) quieter. steelseries has a program with these features built in that works well if you mess around with it or find a profile someone has made specifically for tarkov
hot take. they cut those numbers in half and make the headsets more of a equalizer than advantage gear or at least not the advantage comtac 4s give rn.
Totally agree. If anything it should be a very very slight buff to no headset, and to make it more of an attractive option to use maybe make it so a tinnitus effect plays when you fire or some shit
Seems like it, assuming you mean the binaural audio footstep pop thing so you hear someone coming long before they hear you. Grenades and gunshots can still have a similar pop effect, but that is not as consequential.
I really don't understand why crab walking is quieter than slow walking. Have you ever snuck out of your parents house when you were a teen? If so you'd know that it's way easier to be sneaky while standing up.
I agree completely with you that walk should not be as loud as it is now. IRL running is much louder. Also, thanks for all your work on this, it's much appreciated!
"I think it should be further apart" No no, I really don't want to get heard past those ranges anyway. They're almost unrealistic to begin with and I do not want it back to the old Bullshite
@@Gigabeef Okay... i get that then. Its still weird that things like ADSing, aiming, zeroing and magnification have a sound you can hear from more than 5 meters away. That shouldn't isn't loud IRL, and has no place in game other than to gamify some bullshit
I really don't understand why BSG doesn't realize that one of the main reasons people play slow is that if you ARE moving then you just can't hear anything. You're own footsteps are so loud and overbearing on all but one terrain (soft grass ig?) that you just HAVE to stay still to know if anything is around you. I just really wish they would tone it down.
@@antoniohagopian213 covert movement does nothing to help you with the issue in the main comment. If youre stomping around in dorms you arent very likely to hear anyone else unless theyre also sprinting just cos of how loud your own steps are
I know this will probably be a lot of effort but... how hard would it be to check: - volume of all the primary sounds relative to some baseline - frequencies of all the primary sounds we hear the most Volume would be important because headphones seem to have different EQ in this game and things like how loud gunshots and wind relative to footsteps are would impact how loud you can make your in-game volume. For example, if 2 headsets have equally loud footsteps, but one of them has quieter gunshots, then I can boost the audio of my game more when I'm wearing that headset without hurting my ears. That will result in louder footsteps just because my overall can be made is louder without hurting my ears. Frequencies could be useful because things like footsteps may become easier to hear if their frequency is sufficiently distinct from wind or gunshots. Also because humans are more sensitive to some frequency ranges than others so headsets where the footsteps fall in those ranges may be better.
Gonna tell us about anything new you will use to kill mass amounts of players with untill it gets exposed in patch notes? any audio pops you gonna tell us about this time maybe?
Everything BSG does us always after we tell them. They literally don't know how to make a good game. How long was the reserve alarm dangerously loud? How long were headsets unrealistically OP? It jusr doesn't occur yo Nikita what he should do to make thr game good, ever.
60m~ though is irl hearing range for running with headsets on. a yt vid did the tests. just a month ago. reloading (aggressively) also. though ads can't be heard until standing right next to the person
Have you ever worn electronic ear muffs? They are hearing aids. It makes quite things loud and loud things quite. Mine are cheap so if it's windy I can't hear much but the wind, but they still work like Comtac 2s.
The way i see it stances should work like this : * Walking is for hiding your audio profile * Crouching is for hiding your visual profile * Crounchwalking is just a silly way to drain stamina while being really slow and loud, it borderline got me considering if moving while crouchwalking should have the same aim penalties as trying to ADS while moving with a broken leg (seriously, try to aim with just your fingerguns irl while crouchwalking. its stupid) Why did crouch ever become the "sneaking" position btw? Is it just some Skyrim thing? I never understood it (Also bibageef <3 )
It's a holdover from classic RPG games, like Morrowind, Oblivion, etc, continued in Skyrim, and literally hundreds of other games. I think Morrowind was one of the first to do this, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Crouch walking is so you can hide behind boxes so when the guard scan cone (sight range) at your area, they don't see you.. very sneaky (might be from metal gear solid)
Yeah crouch walking and sneaking around is a stupid video game thing. Wish bsg would implement as little video game logic in eft as possible. They really need to make adsing inaudible unless you're right next to the guy and slow walking standing up make the least amount of noise. If you rock your foot from heel to toe while walking slowly you can be very sneaky irl. Crouching puts to much strain on your legs and makes it more difficult to move silently.
there's a yt vid that did the sound tests in real life. 1month so. running is about 60+m, and aggressively reloading too. but ads is silent, until right next to the person and constantly doing it
