Telling you Vermont is a GOLD MIND. Lake called Hancock in woodford no one ever fishes you smash bass left and right. Reason ppl have to hike or four wheel unless you got a hood Lyft . Trust me you should try this place if around I promise you will not be disappointed. I pulled a 14LB bass this year just two weeks ago out dead serious.
Thanks for the comment on my bass ever around vt hit me up I’ll take you to come spots especially a lake no one touches at all filled with monsters Forgot my wife’s account was linked to RU-vid so lol commented on my 10lb bass I hit a few yrs ago on that fish app❤
Great video. What kind of safety gear are you required to have out there? Are you good to go unless you leave the harbor or do you need a radio and flares and such?
Here's the link to the popper kit I tie. www.jsflyfishing.com/products/hard-foam-popper-bodies-with-hooks?variant=43259556561125&kendall_source=google&kendall_campaign=20466615589&kendall_adid=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwp4m0BhBAEiwAsdc4aIoWh7mkBTdT7vsZrle4eddi8dXyjj9zeyZvX_sM_qx_8A9OwnaeihoCIJ4QAvD_BwE
Hubbard Park is nice but that river is the dirtiest nastiest river I’ve ever been in. It’s like somebody ran a river through a landfill. Milwaukee needs to step it up on the clean up.
I prefer casting my poppers upstream 45 degrees or something straight upstream. Streamers across-stream or 45 degrees downstream. Good luck on the water!
I Have a 8ft 6inch 3 weight fly rod. i like the extra length get the sunfish up to the surface and drag across the surface weeds surroundsing many lakes and ponds. The rarity of the longer 3 weights has convinced me that the more common 9ft 4 weights may be ideal for sunfish still light enough to get a good fight, yet abundant enough to get a good choice of brands and quality. Many fish too big of a bait. A size 12 hook is ideal for sunfish, 10 and 8 sizes work well as well perhaps selecting for bigger aggressive fish. Many an old pan fisherman combined a 9ft fly rod and spinning or spin casting reel for the extra length before crappie rods were marketed and the extra length allows for better recovery of slack line in windy and for float fishing situations. Spin and fly fishing fish the smaller baits when possible, Ice jigs and panfish plastics are great, hand tied 1/124 to 1/64 oz jigs are also great. Great panfish Jig recipes included. Great point. My YT episode this clip came from was 90% topwater, but that short indeed was truly subsurface spinnerbait action all the way. Just updated the title to more accurately depict the truth. 😉
Love fishing that spot. Ive noticed the small mouths arent in that stretch of the river in May. I think they go upstream and spawn in rocky areas. Plenty if gators though
Great video. Excellent fishing. I’m new to this SW FL area and am learning the saltwater fishing from my years of freshwater experience. I did a small amount of fly fishing streams and creeks before moving to FL and learned a ton from your video here that I can apply to my lightweight spin fishing I do here. One question. On your leader are you using straight 25 pound or are you using a tapered leader with 25 pound tippet? I realize this is an older video but I’m hoping you receive this notification. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge here. P.S. Is the fluoro use use regular line or leader line and is there enough difference to justify the tremendous price difference?
Great question. The adipose fin tends to be clipped for hatchery fish, but I have contrary info regarding various strains of steelhead and other species with or without those fins being natural vs stocked fish.
Not much going on in Wisconsin, and certainly not in Illinois. Only Michigan has streams that can produce some fish, and these are probably all Chinook. So all Coho are hatchery fish on both sides of the lake. This doesn't mean the fish caught in Wisconsin were stocked in Wisconsin, the darn things swim around wherever they want.
Awesome video. Thanks for the discount codes. Used it to get a Piscifun reel. They dont sell the Platte anymore so picked up a Sword. Looks like a quality reel. Beautiful river!
Awesome seeing the smallies are starting to get active in the river! I need to get out there asap! Is that KCR 3pc a ML or M power? I've been looking for a 7' ML travel rod and the only real contender so far is the St Croix Avid Trek, but that KCR looks preeeeettty sweet.
How much does that Hobie weigh? I’m looking to buy another kayak for the wife and currently I have the auto pilot 120 which is amazing but it weighs so much. I have a sprinter van so I have to drag it in there (can’t complain too much since I’m in the water in like three minutes)
The PA14 360 is heavy, 125lbs. However, I put it on and off the trailer myself without backing it in the water (while loaded with several batteries and other gear) without much trouble. My Hobie Outback is much lighter and I can carry that with much more ease.
