Yessss its a great combo. The only thing about the M8 is that it kind of handles MIDI a little weird. Make sure to put some note off commands in your external instrument table, and you should be good to go! At least thats how I've gotten around it hahaha

As for sidechaining on the M8 - I might do a video on it, but so far what I've been doing is putting a "trig env" on the notes that I want to side chain on within the phrase itself, then pointing that trig env to volume in the mod section of the instrument. I put the volume to negative and dial in the attack / decay on the env to taste. It accomplishes it pretty well, but I'm sure there are better methods hahaha Great question and thanks again for popping by!

@@voxmnemonic man, I wish! I have a 4-voice synth by SpaceBrainCircuits that fills that spot for now. I think I’ll be shooting for a Teo-5 in the next year or so… gotta satisfy the Oberheim crave eventually.

The Motor Synth is hilariously awesome, and it is a piece of art. It makes an _incredible_ racket itself, though none of the mechanical noise comes through the recording... so I stuck a contact mic on the back of it and record the motor noise to throw in the mix sometimes. I bet they spent a lot of effort to keep the motor noise out, and this jackass just puts it right back in :). I don't really consider such expensive ones because I would be scared to break them. I learned about the polyend tracker + today and that tickled me a little. Fun video!
Yesss that thing looks awesome, I'd love to get my hands on one too! Expensive synths are pretty scary to work with for that reason hahaha, I guess they're just relegated to the studio unless they're really built to travel.
Awesome video, really hope to see more Syntakt tutorials from you (also soundpack sometime in the future maybe?) Furthermore I want to add that when playing less rhythm-focused styles of Industrial or smth close, another good practice is to do everything the same way, but using FILTER envelope with the HPF instead of the AMP one - this way excessive lowend from the bass is still reduced to make space for the kick, but without the pumping effect
