Hey there! I'm NZR Fan, a Trainspotter! I do plenty of filming with at least one video a month! Featuring a vary of locomotive types such as steam locomotives of the old New Zealand Railway Era and the now modern diesels at Kiwirail. I fired this engine ja 1271 on number one roster ,linwood loco for months. Poor old girl was a particularly "free " steamer. Consequently was left on 143 / 144 for weeks at a time. For some reason ja's steamed better than the j's .from memory they had different spark arrestor in them. I'm guessing not many of us left. Those were the days . In ma 80s now. I fired last kb to pass . A picnic train 4 addington work shop staff. Jimmy dillon drove it. Broke a bearing at Kowal bush returning . Allan james saved us with a dg.
I fired either.peveral / Ivanhoe through tunnel for centenary. Marty wiahapi carried on to (i think ) papanui or rangiora. Ego wilson was driver .from memory.
@@nzrfan608 i joined as a 15 yr old junior laborer 1960 sat boiler ticket with mr railway garry kelly . Left when 32 . Took up professional. Horse trainer then. Hated diesels. Regards woody woodfield.
It’s not a rail tour it’s an excursion. A rail tour is when there is a trip for more than a day which is a “tour” so it really is only regarded as an excursion unless it’s more than a day
