Long road for a short cut!! Put on the trouser on a shoeless foot, when you put it on, hem to heel length, when your foot is in a shoe it's perfect fit
I'm using a Bernina 1130S with the zipper foot #4. When I move the needle left or right, the machine goes into zigzag mode. Do you have any suggestions? There is nothing about it in the user's manual.

Our newer videos (see ru-vid.com) usually have spoken instructions anyway and no or only very soft music. In the case of the video above, please simply mute the video or your device. Because of the fade-in texts you will still be able to follow the instructions.

I am just dreaming right now, I am a Native American Quilter, elder, and local artist in Pine Ridge SD. I have been quilting for 8 years now and learned on a few long arms, but never owned a long arm, I want one i am watching this video and it is solving all the questions i have had, I wanted to combine both embroider and quilting into one, this is it..OMG,,, i hand stitch and it is awesome but the clientele here is getting hi for the demand of machine quilting, I am small business owner, but i do not have a machine to grow my customer base for my quilts. I am a Native vet, a local artist, a tribal memember, an artist, and quilter. I am trying to keep making my quilts, I DO native star quilts., Not Lonestar's, but native star quilts, on my reservation. With all this i am homeless, living in my van sewing my star tops together. I made it work for me, I am 52 years old, and my quilting is my healing. I will continue to dream of owning my own BERNINA LONG ARM., I found a BERNINA out to the local landfill on my reservation, it is a BERNINA 1008 , i am cleaning it up and trying to find a foot feeder and cord to see it run. I have wanted a BERNINA the first time i saw one Today i have one it needs so much love, This trashed BERNINA 1008 will help put together my Star Tops. I can send a picture of both my BERNINA I found out the the trash, and a star quilt of mine. I love BERNINA, yaaaaaah so excited to watch this video and dream of the day, i can get one. I do a lot of star quilts for the Unci's on my reservation and in my community. I hand quilt or tack, or use my Singer Patchwork which was donated to me, so repaid it and it works great. But i want to get my BERNINA going, I hope it runs as smooth as the day it was manufactured. I love Your BERNINAS. I cant wait for the day i can use one of your long arms BERNINA. Bernina should really start a rerun of making and selling the vintage 830 and the 807. They would sell these with ease! And there is definitely demand for them. I absolutely love my 807 and 830 both still stitch beautifully and are so reliable I will never part with them as they are fully serviceable and will out live me. They hold their prices because they are great sturdy full metal bodied machines. Unlike the new computerised and plastic part machines. We Sewists, seamstresses and tailors don’t need hundreds of different stitches most of use solely use straight stitch and zig zag and nothing is better than the vintage 807 and 830. Please Bernina see sense and start re making and selling these machines again and their spare parts. There is a reason there are so many of these amazing machines still in use and still hold such demand.

The 830 record alone was produced hundreds of thousands of times in the seventies and eighties and is still appreciated by many seamstresses around the world today. As you may know, BERNINA had a similar model in its range until a few years ago, the BERNINA 1008. Demand for this model has steadily declined and, in the end, was so low that we had to stop production. Fortunately, our current machines are also extremely robust and by no means made of plastic, as can be seen in the video above. They also offer a wide range of creative possibilities and are clearly superior to purely mechanical models in this respect. If you are looking for an 830 record or any other BERNINA old-timer, you will find it on second-hand platforms. We really love our old machines, but as a company we have to move forward technologically and change with the needs of sewists around the globe. BERNINA stands for Swiss quality, but also for advanced Swiss engineering. This was already the case in the eighties. If we hadn't developed since then, BERNINA would no longer exist.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. You can adjust the playback speed by clicking on the cogwheel icon in the bottom right corner of the RU-vid player and set it from "normal" to half of the speed or less. As there is no speaking in this video, you can simply turn off the sound.

An easier way would have been to just cut to the desired length minus 3cms, turn a double hem of 1.5cms and topstitch the hem with jeans thread or heavy topstitch thread. When the jeans were next laundered it would have the same appearance
Ich habe mir den Koffer 2020 angeschafft und nutze ihn überhaupt nicht, weil er den Zubehörteilen keinen Halt bietet und alles in den jeweiligen Abteilen herumfällt. Gute Idee, aber schlechte Umsetzung. Das gleiche Problem habe ich beim Zubehörtäschchen meiner 475 QE, die ich mir für Reisen angeschafft habe. Völlig unbrauchbar. Von Bernina hätte ich mir mehr erwartet.🤷🏻♀
Hallo Mary, vielen Dank für das Feedback. Es tut uns leid, dass der Zubehörkoffer Deinen Ansprüchen nicht genügt. Vielleicht magst Du als rasche, pragmatische Lösung ein Gummiband drüberziehen, damit die obere Schaumstofflage die Zubehörteile zudeckt? Bei neueren Koffern sollte bereits gewährleistet sein, dass die Teile halten. Was die Zubehörtasche angeht: Magst Du uns mitteilen, was genau Dich an dieser stört? Ich leite das Feedback dann gerne an die zuständige Abteilung weiter.
@@BerninaInternational Auch in der Zubehörtasche bleiben die Nähfüsse und andere Zubehörteile nicht an ihrem Platz, sondern fallen beim Transport und beim Öffnen der Tasche aus den Fächern.

Hi, I like the design and features of this machine. I currently create designs in illustrator, digitize the artwork in Embrilliance and run them on embroidery machine using small size spools. Will this machine require a change in my workflow or the transition to this machine will be smooth? Thank you*

The best thing to do is to contact your BERNINA dealer, make an appointment and test drive the machine with your designs and spools.
40 years that we use Bernina's sewing machines in my family (mostly my mother and i, more recently with a B475). I love my machine, it's a real gem and a joy to work with. Cant wait to test this one ! Cheers from France !

As someone who worked for BERNINA in Steckborn in the RND department back when we "made" the Model 1130 a lot has changed in terms of layout in the working space. The great part is that even back then we had a climate-controlled "fridge" where we "froze" the machine and tested the life of it. So it is great to see that some testing is still the same. I am not excited about the new "look". All the past BERNINA models had a "timeless" look. You were able to spot a BERNINA from any angle across the room. Now the 990 looks like a low-end Singer machine where everything is round. Thanks, BERNINA for keeping the width and length buttons!!! It was always an argument I used as a dealer to show an "old" BERNINA user that the new machine has the most important functions still in the same place!!!
I remember touring the factory in 1993 when they were still making the 1130. I purchased mine in 1987 and taught a few classes for my dealer. I was happy that my husband was fluent in German. He and the chief engineer really enjoyed discussing the machines and the assembly line. Glen, being an engineer was familiar with the machines that preceded the home sewing machines. I was impressed with the workmanship and dedication right down to the person applying the label at the end of the line.

Yes, a lot has changed since the 90s, but a lot has also remained the same, including the climate testing (although we need a larger "fridge" now 😊). Continuity is important for BERNINA. This applies to the layout of the buttons and knobs, the position of the screen and hence the use of the machine, and it also applies to the design. Compared to the straight lines of the artista series, the recent machines were already rounder. This development was continued with the B 990, also due to its enormous size. Yes, other brands also have round machines, but fortunately it is quite easy to distinguish the B 990 from an entry-level Singer ...

Not crazy about the looks. Nice to see Bernina catching up to other machines. The camera, pinpoint placement and scanning I have had on my 10 year old machine. I do like my Bernina 830 LE and now that the 990 has some of the features of my older machine I will be looking at purchasing the 990. Great job caching up Bernina!

There are so many great new new features, like the BERNINA Integrated Stitch Regulator BISR, the size of the GIANT Hoop, Jumbo Stitches, the space to the right of the needle, etc. The BERNINA 830 LE was and still is a great machine, but the B 990 takes sewing, quilting and embroidery to a whole new dimension in many ways.
