An old guy that rides skateboards a lot. Street skating, parks, mini-ramps, and freestyle are what I enjoy most. I was away from skateboarding for 22 years, and since May 2020 I have loved every second I have been back on a board. Join me as I continue to regain some of my youthful abilities and spread positivity. I hope to inspire some to try skateboarding for the first time as well as bring back some who may have strayed from the joy that is skateboarding.
I'm constantly posting on TikTok @MrDadSkates, so give me a follow there as well!

Great video Mr Dad! I am just coming back from a bad ankle sprain after ollying a 5 stair (I had landed it a couple of times before) It's by far the worst injury I have had and although I have been back on the board for a week now I can't ollie or do anything where I need to flick my foot yet! I am really battling with whether I should be skating as a Dad of 2, and I have almost ruined a family holiday in the past with an injured hip that only just healed in time. I never skate without wrist guards and a helmet though... and wear knee and elbow pads as well as padded shorts and high top boots when trying something new on transition. I highly recommend wrist guards for you! But fair play for getting back on the board every time, skateboarding really is an itch that has to be scratched!
First summer me skating again (After 29years as i told u before) i cracked my hand by landing on it, and at same time 2 ribs.. Pebbles Suck! But i kept on riding 😁
I as well am almost 45.I skated from the time I was 9 until I was 18 and haven't skated since. Ironically I shattered my left wrist bad doing a simple kickflip. It was so bad I had to have reconstructive surgery. Well I havent skated ever since out of fear. But shit, your vids are making me seriously contemplate getting back on a board again. Keep making awesome content man, it's truly inspiring. Hope your sprain heals quickly.
I recently got back into skating but unfortunately I broke my ankle at Beech acres last week. So watching your videos has helped kept my moral up. And keeping me excited to get back out there. I’m sorry to hear you’re on the mend too.
You can tell how hard you're pushing it by your injury list! My worst was a broken ankle, missed a grab hitting a downhill kicker ramp on dirt board in 2000. I still catch heat about that from my better half. I think all I need is shin guards to complete my full battle armor lol.
I'm 49, your videos mean a lot to me! I haven't skateboarded for 25 years, but after a terrible relationship and a long illness, I recently bought a new deck. Your videos inspire me a lot!
Looks like fun. Sorry to hear you hurt your wrist. Thankfully you didn’t break it. I tried doing an Ollie while moving a couple days ago and planed out when landed on the board and fell on my ass and elbows. I thought I tore something in left shoulder, but fortunately after and hour all was good. Scared me for second but occasionally getting hurt is to be expected if you’re trying to learn skateboarding again after an extended break. Thanks for sharing.
