What's size and type of bolt is that one that was cut?
@TatPeddler
@TatPeddler 3 месяца назад
The proper bolt is a couple of pound from Tesla and is special for alignment so you need the proper bolt

Had to do this my own car. Ended up changing both and drops links and top wishbones. Bit of *itch to cut the bolt. Rip saw the one to use with correct blade.

Surely people who can afford a Tesla can pay through the nose for this to be done by a Tesla Garage. Bit of a pointless presentation really.

@@petergearing4796 I don´t get it. You comment on a vid of a DIY repair for a car you have no relation to? Why? Tesla has a rapidly growing DIY community, and you are way off. Living in Norway, which has the most Teslas per capita, I know... :)

@@trondlysensten1639 Bully for you!!! I don't really care what Norwegians' drive. Mind your fellow country men and women have been used to paying high prices for your fuel and food for years, right down to Mars Bars. My neighbour has one and he told me only the other day that it was now worthless, its not even 5 years old. Happy Days

@@petergearing4796 And because of the expense of it all, our average age car is 14.8y now... Go figure why DIY has its place... Our S is a 2017, has 110k miles to it, newer been to service since I do it all myself, replaced suspension parts and brakes and the PTC, as the have worn out. Just like on other cars. These cars will probably have a great community for DIY online, just like the RR, LC and GE wagons :) Sorry for your friends economic loss, but maybe DIY could keep it alive for him ;) I ordered control arms for our S yesterday @ $300, and plan spending an hour replacing them, rather than paying Tesla $1000 to do it. Hav e a good day :)

@@trondlysensten1639 So tell me and this is an important HEALTH & SAFETY question. What is your plan in event of a fire? I am not saying its going to happen but, if one of your DIY jobs causes a battery fire. How are you going to handle the following: 1. Putting the fire out? Fire Brigades worldwide are finding the only way to put one out an EV is submerging the vehicle in water for 24 hours. 2. Removal of the TOXIC water and remains of the car, once the fire is finally out. 3. Stopping the fire spreading to your garage, HOME, shed or workshop? Because guaranteed, the Fire Services are not going to be able to save them. 4. Will your car, house and content insurances cover the loses, when they find out that the fire was caused by a DIY repair to an EV? So good luck in the future.
