Hey, does having a reserach internship background from a notorious research lab count as research experience i.e. for into core categories? Thanks in advance.
Your supposition may be correct as to why you were rejected from UMich MS Engineering program. However, you were not a naive high schooler who misunderstood the two documents should be distinctly different. 15 people in my family in the last 3 generations have attended UMich, including me (BS Mathematics, MBA Finance). Let me add to your comments. The admissions officers at most universities (including UMich Engineering) are more than happy to provide guidance on what they are looking for in an application and their website provides contact information. So there is no excuse for not understanding exactly how you should prepare your application essays. One of the most critical aspects at the elite universities, especially UMich, is if you cut and paste an application to other universities you WILL NOT be admitted. You MUST discuss the very specific reasons why you want to study and be successful at Michigan and the first round readers can spot a cut and paste job from a mile away. I met a young woman who graduated from UMich CoE with a BS in Climate and Space Engineering, who had excellent grades and test scores but not at the elite level. Her essay discussed her childhood dream to be an astronaut, but was crushed when she discovred she had a heart murmur, which would disqualify her. Instead of giving up she wrote that she was determined to become a space engineer by studying at the UMich program. She told me her essay "was on fire" as she described her passion for achieving her goal of becoming a space engineer. BTW one of my granddaughters is studying chemical engineering at UMich and is entering her senior year with a 3.9 GPA. But she was not accepted at Purdue. Go figure, right?
I am stumbling while working with reading comprehension questions in verbal section . They are very daunting. How do I improve it?? Please give some tips and resources which can guide me properly.
Hello! I have 2 year gap after completing my graduation. I was wondering if this gap would have a negative impact on my chances of being accepted into masters program?
This is great info. I was trying to open the link for all the universities and it doesn’t seem to work. If you have a link for that list, that’d be super helpful
Hello, thanks for the videos. Are Headsets allowed during the GRE test at home? I mean in a situation where your computer does not have an inbuilt microphone.
IOT exams are crap. So many spelling mistakes, errors in the question itself, grammatical errors, some questions are not even there etc. But apart from that, the website is great. Wish it had more proof reading done on the questions.
