"Don't turn your back on me!" You know, I'll defend this movie. It's really not that bad. People throw "It's Not 'R' Rated Around" like that is a legitimate criticism. The direct sequel is, however, absolute trash. Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Karima McAdams. Practical Over CGI Fact: Almost every set in this movie had to be built from scratch (twenty-five to thirty in total). Casting Notes Fact: Except for scenes with stand-ins, Ian Whyte played all of the Predators. He was the first Predator actor since Kevin Peter Hall, who died in 1991. Historical Fact: The Antarctic setting on Bouvet Island is based on the unexplained "Vela Incident" of September 22, 1979, where a satellite recorded a flash of light near the island. It was first speculated to have been a man made nuclear explosion, or a natural event, such as a meteor strike, but this has never been resolved. Cutting Room Floor Fact: It's not clear in the film if Scar (Ian Whyte) was aware that he was impregnated with a chestburster. A deleted scene was to show that he is and that he attempts to stab himself through the chest with his ceremonial dagger before he dies, but he succumbs to his wounds before he can do so. However this sequence was cut.
And for the record, that thing is called a predalien. It's even more of a monster than either of the species. It's featured in a few of the videogames and comic books.
A detail I love about this episode is that in one of Luke's speeches, he talks about cars paaing by watching there headlights hoping one day his mom would show up and at the end when we see his mom her eyes are headlight symbolizing her return.
I know a lot of people don’t like this movie or the next one, but I love them. I’m a sucker for creature features, even some of the silliest ones! Just sit back and enjoy monsters fighting.
I'd not be with that team, yeah, I would leave but that's me, I am not curious enough to go down there and find my own death. So, I'd be on the ship or well flying out of there. I am not sticking around there's not enough money in the world that to convince to check out lost temples and or hidden pyramids.
I can't find the correct time, but it said that the original Alien was to be set in the year 2122, in the far future. But now looking through everything it's not telling me when Alien Vs Predator happened and when it all took place. It just keeps telling me the year it came out. I heard a rumor that said this is where it all started, and that Wayland's origin began, or his Descendants started and it just goes down from there, but I can't be sure if that's correct but there supposed to be connected.
This movie is actually set the year it came out so 2004! It comes up near the start of the movie when the satellites first see the heat signature! But that would make sense for why they are so heavily involved in the future!
Just to help you both out, I think the major Alien films in-universe timeline goes something like this … _Alien_ - 2122. _Aliens_ & _Alien3_ - 2179. _Alien: Ressurection_ - 2381. _Prometheus_ - 2094. _Alien: Covenant_ - 2104. *Upcoming _Alien: Romulus_ - c. 2142.
God this was an amazing reaction. I love this crossover between the two series of Movies. Predators are tough and hunters by nature, but damn the Aliens still carry their own weight in strength and speed, but I don't know if the girl hadn't helped or if she hadn't been there to help, I think the Alien Queen might have survived. Hard choice to say which is best because they both have such high ranks and also their own skills in their environments, they both have that in common they can hunt just about anywhere there adaptable to any Climate. So, it's a hard question to answer which is best, but I have to go with the Predators being just a bit smarter than the Aliens but then again, it's hard to say the Aliens have their own strange smartness too and not much is known how smart they are but there are times we have seen them learn fast and they hold grudges, considering Alien Resurrection, where they did show signs of intelligence too, but there mostly pure hunters and kill by nature or whatever the Queen wants of them. You know the hard thing for me is for these movies? Or this movie I should say. My first time learning about Predators and Aliens was out of context and I didn't even know what their story lines were about. I was younger I remember that, when I was first interduce to this movie, and it terrified me, but I think the biggest part of this movie that gets to me, is the sound effects of the chest burster hearing that bone cracking and crushing sound, it messed with me. I have watched Alien and Aliens and all of them but none of them have ever made me feel scared as I felt the first time watching this or my first time being exposed to this whole Alien universe. I am glad that you chose to react to this movie. I don't think it's bad or good, I think it's pretty badass movie with them mixing with its crossover between these two series. they get gorier than Alien or Predator movies. But the second movie in Alien Vs Predators has its scenes where it still scares me today and truly fucks with the mind and gives a true horror to it all. And honestly there's some stuff you just can't unsee. But I liked this reaction. The Black actor. I can't remember his name off the top of my head. But I only recall seeing him play in one of my old childhood favorites movie slash series. It was called Dinotopia. Hard movie to find but even harder to find reactors to want to check it out.
Hey, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! It's definitely hard to figure out who is best, but in this movie the 3 predators were there to prove themselves so maybe an older predator would have had an easier time? Who knows haha! The sound effects in this movie were great!! The bone cracking was nasty!! So you saw this movie first? It has such a different vibe to the other movies so thats so interesting! Ooh I'll look into that movie recommendation! Thanks!
@RynooReacts that would be nice if someone did it is it's a three-disc series you can either buy it as a desk set there are just three DVDs, so it basically was a 3-day miniseries back in the old days made by Hallmark, but it was still really good and honestly, I grew up with that movie. The story plot line is about these two boys who get stranded who lose their dad in a plane crash and they end up on a Dinosaur Island or a world called Dinotopia.
@@serenitytoepper I think the actor you mentioned is Colin Salmon. It took me a moment to remember, but he was also in the first _Resident Evil_ movie, likewise directed by Anderson.
it’s believed that the predators injected their xenomorphs with an advanced growth hormone so that the hunt could begin sooner. i recommend you check out avp 2 although it’s pretty flawed… particularly with the script and lighting. there’s some cool creature shots and a neat easter egg scene in the end.
Ohhhh interesting, well that would explain it then! I will be checking out the next AVP so I get the complete picture everyone has on these movies! Thanks for checking out the video! 😁
Awesome! Thank you Ryan for posting it at this time; I finally get to watch, like and comment on the very same day! I second everything you said: not really top production or very consistent with other films in either franchises but it offers what it promises, and is quite fun overall. In fact, I said previously how _Resurrection_ works if you think about it with a comic book quality, then maybe AvP is better seen as a sort of video game movie? Mind you, I think the original two _Alien vs Predator_ video games actually came out before this film (albeit there is no similarity in plot and setting whatsoever) and the director, Paul W. S. Anderson , is notorious, haha, for adapting other franchises, both _Resident Evil_ and Mortal Kombat_ I think. Don't get me wrong - those are very fun and enjoyable films! I think somebody else also mentioned _Event Horizon_ which is another film by the same director and you should definitely check it out as well; think, a haunted house, but IN SPACE! Eh, my advice would be to skip the next AvP entry, as it adds really nothing to the story but I'll be sure to check it out if you do. And I am sooo looking forward to both _Prometheus_ and _Predators_ reactions!! Oh, and lest I forget; best jumpscare, Lexa surprising dr. Miller before the penguins showed up, and the best (funniest!) line has to be "They gonna have a kiss?" Oh, that gave me such a good laugh! Keep up the good work, Ryan!
Hey! Thanks for checking out the video, I appreciate it as you previously mentioned you weren't the biggest fan of these! Yess Event Horizon has been mentioned and it's on the list now haha, haunted house in space sounds great! The director definitely made a creative decision with this one haha! I'll be checking out the next AVP movie with the same outlook of not taking it too seriously just so I get the complete picture by the end of the franchises! But I am looking forward to checking out the prequels and new Predator movies!! I'm glad no harm came to the penguin haha!!
@@RynooReacts Hey, like you responded in another comment, Ryan, I am here through the good, the bad and the ugly, haha. Even if the film is bad, the reaction will likely be a hoot!
Charles ,,Bishop" Weyland owner of the Weyland industries. After his death his family member Peter Weyland born in Mumbai made Weyland Corporation he died in prometheus then was Weyland-Youtani when genius employer Michael Bishop has design Bishop android and there was alien movies with Sigourney Weaver as Ripley.
YOU MUST WATCH THE BETTER ORIGINAL MOVIE, "THE HAUNTING" (1963)👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 THIS MISCONSTRUES THAT STORY!!😵😵😵 I RECOMMEND SERIES OF POE'S INSPPIRATION "THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER" INSANELY GOOD!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😬😬😬😬
Fun fact: Mike Flanagan is married to Kate Siegel, the actress who plays Theo. She has always loved his work and played different roles within it, but this role held a special place in her heart and soul. They welcomed their own daughter to the world, and rightfully named her- Theodora.
Cool reaction Dude! One thing I don't completely understand about the Yautja honor code is given that they avoid killing, Children, beings with growing fetus in womb, and those w/ health issues. Except in self-defense. Cool! How do those relate to the no capture/ self destruct rule. It seems like blowing oneself ul w/ nuclear bomb wrist gauntlet would might take out elderly, children et cetera. Unless it's something rather bizarre like, "because there aren't any children, infirm beings around me, ( or I don't see them), I can destroy myself w/ the nuke." If so, I don't quite understand the reasoning. What are thoughts from others on here who know the lore?
Hey, just to help you out (although I don't consider myself some _huuuge_ loremaster here, haha). I always thought that was a semi-safety precaution so that their "prey" doesn't get a hold of their advanced tech ; in such instances, it outweighs any other personal decision and/or conduct during that particular hunt. And after all, they are aliens so their overall morality or mentality is very different from ours, even if understandable sometimes.
@@mariopenavic8573 that's a good point you put forth! I know in some of the other movies mainly this one and the Predator w/ Olivia Munn but more the books hint at murky government groups working w/ Weyland-Yutani to get their tech. Makes sense Yautja would want to protect tech! Thx!
Hugh both sees his wife's ghost and imagines her as part of a coping mechanism. It's the imaginary wife talking (aka Hugh himself) when she's giving Hugh all the good advice, which Hugh ignores. There's a reason why he ignores the good advice, but I can't explain it, now. Hugh and the kids all see ghosts and have for years. The ghosts are real, but that doesn't mean the entire family doesn't also suffer from PTSD because of their experiences at Hill House. Of course, we know Steve refuses to accept he sees ghosts because he thinks he and the whole family suffer from mental illness. I also think the whole family has "psychic" abilities, although not necessarily manifested the same way. Remember how they all woke up when Nell died. Shirley knew Nell was in the "red room," and Luke knows Nell didn't kill herself and so does Hugh. Aunt Janet is Olivia's sister and after Olivia's death she went to court to get custody of the children. Somehow, she prevailed in that. I guess because of Hugh's behavior after Olivia supposedly killed herself. Hugh wasn't held responsible for her death. This is why there's bad blood between Aunt Janet and Hugh. This also seems to have caused some of the resentment in the children towards their father, especially in Steve who was very close to his father as a child. Another cause of friction between Hugh and his children seems to be his unwillingness to detail what happened exactly after he returned to Hill House to fetch Olivia. That's clearly one of the central mysteries, those 3 hours. And now we know Hugh is lying about an aspect of those 3 hours because we see he entered the "red room." We already know the role Olivia's ghost played in Nell's death, so it's interesting her ghost tried to pull Luke into Nell's grave and went after Theo. Note how Hugh held onto Theo, then, as if to save her. As far as the police and most people are concerned, there are only two bodies: Olivia's and the body behind the brick wall, aka the "other' or 'second' body. And, yes, Hugh is always trying to "fix" things, but some things can't be fixed.
Thanks for taking the time to write all this out! Super interesting and definitely helped link some of the stuff that has happened already for me! This show has blown my expectations out of the water and I appreciate you checking out the video!! 😁
Hey, Ryan! So glad to see your channel growing, especially with the number of great comments for this reaction! I swear I wanted to make a comment earlier but just could not find the time during the working week. Regardless, top notch reaction, you really looked grossed out in all the proper scenes, haha. _Resurrection_ is my guilty pleasure, I have to admit; far from the being the best in the franchise, but it has very much a 90s comic book quality to it, with the director’s unique visual style, oddly quirky humor and some over-the-top characters like Johnner, dr. Wren or even Ripley 8. And one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise must be the underwater sequence, which shows the xenomorphs as surprisingly good and terrifying swimmers! Also, I agree that xenomorphs look most slimy and off-putting in this film, especially the somehow equally disgusting and goofy Newborn, haha. To answer your question (and something that confounded me for quite a long time too) the blood samples from which Ripley was cloned isn't the blood splattered around during the climax of _Alien3_ but the blood Clemens (the character played by Charles Dance) took in the prison infirmary, which makes more sense. Anyway, best jumpscare, I guess that pipe bursting behind Elgyn (his actor, Michael Wincott, just has a naturally gravelly voice - check him out in the original _The Crow_ if you haven't seen the film!). Best line, ''Is she giving birth to another Ripley?'', haha. Looking forward to that AvP reaction (even though like that other commentator, I don't really consider them Alien films proper, and neither does the studio apparently, haha)!
Hey, thanks so much! 😁 Thats such a great way of looking at it - "a 90s comic book quality"!! The underwater scene was also a favourite of mine!! Although the water was oddly clear haha! Ohhhhhh that makes SO much sense about the blood samples! Thank you!!! I haven't seen the crow so I'll add it to the list!! Thanks again for taking the time on this comment! I appreciate it!
Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the remaining episodes. This series is great for rewatching as you get to see the details and tie everything together better but still get the same chills and goosebumps. :)
Hello, check out a movie called, 1492: Conquest of Paradise. Adventure/Drama (1992). It stars Gérard Depardieu, Siqourney Weaver, Armante Assante. It portrays a version of the travels to the New World by the Italian explorer Christopher Columbus and the effect this had on indigenous peoples. Directed by Ridley Scott. Thank you, Chris.
A human who has managed to kill a Predator in single combat or has fought alongside one is usually spared by the deceased hunter's comrades of his kind and given a gift (often a rare or exotic weapon) as a sign of respect.
Worthy game must fill the following criteria: Can defend itself and/or is able to kill the hunter himself, of age (killing children and the elderly is considered highly dishonorable), not linked to other lives (so that removing the prey will not doom another, e.g. pregnant women), and not weakened by diseases.
If you look closely at the Predator wall, you can see a bunch of skulls that it's collected you can see the Alien's head or the Xenomorph head mounted on the wall. If you look closely enough.
The Predator Honor Code is a set of beliefs and values that guide the behavior of the Yautja. These beliefs are deeply ingrained in their culture and are passed down from generation to generation. Yautja warriors are expected to conduct themselves with honor at all times, even in the heat of battle. The franchise gave fans a deeper look into how the Predators choose their prey as well as how their hunts are conducted. One thing that has rung true from the very beginning is that the Predator's code of honor which states that a Predator must only kill worthy prey.
AVP Does happen on Earth but in a different time considering, AVP is supposed to have come before Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 and Resurrection. But yeah, it does take place on Earth.
Those poor cargo people had no idea, and their ships were sent here, they had no idea, they were all sacrifice by these sick bastards. And everyone said the Aliens are monsters, humans are the worst monsters of the world. Blinded by greed and power and to control whatever they want, got humans are so messed up. In this series. All though humans are bad I can't lie.
They never learn their lessons. They all just keep making mistakes and messing with shit they don't understand. Ripley's back and I have to admit this one wasn't horrible compared to alien 3. in my opinion.
If I remember correctly through, Whatever the face hugger attaches itself to, it takes on the traits of its host, or the alien mixes with it, and since this alien came out of a dog it's acting differently than the ones that came out of humans.
@@RynooReacts I don't know I can't remember which version is which I think it's the other version then this one, and it shows a different death instead of the dog.
@@serenitytoepper Hey, just to help out, that is indeed Fincher's Assembly Cut version you mention, which the studio decided to edit and trim down for budgetary and effects purposes. It's hard to say which flows better: the ox version is better edited and makes sense because of the size and symbolism (the xenomorph is seen as a "demon" by some inmates and is birthed from a horned figure), whereas the dog version works faster, gives the viewer a more deserved emotional punch and explains it unusually agressive behavior a little bit better ( Imagine if the chestburster mooed in its birthing scene! ).
I am not a fan because it sorts made Aliens almost like what's the point of anyone surviving this last time. We get attached to Newt and we lose her. Plus, I wasn't the biggest fan of the Alien's design it looked more like CGI instead of someone being inside of the suits. I don't hate it, but I also not hundred percent liked it either. Especially the dog scene that just messes with me.
Not great compared to the first 2 but finally a happy ending for Ripley, she gets her ship, crew and little girl back and finally makes it back to Earth.
H R Giger was the artist behind "the Alien" creature. It was inspired by nightmares that he would sketch out upon waking. Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. AND YOU THINK THIS IS JUST A MOVIE ? Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. REMEMBER THE SCENE WITH DALLAS SAYING "KILL ME"? 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
