Thanks for checking me out Heya! My name is Brittany, and Im a character designer/redesigner I'm very into historical fashion or fashion history in general and a big believer that character outfits should tell you who your character is just by there outfits I believe world building should be your top priority in story making as it's what makes the story interesting and helps keep the Continuity I am a independent contractor for my local theater I make costumes and sets, and I still learning how to animate on my own I have big plans for this channel so i hope your all ready for that :D
FAQ: "What programs do you use?" Photoshop and adobe animate
She sooooo cute also like the choice that you made with her human skin so it looks similar to her mermaid scales also, why the heck they didn’t went with the other option for her top in the movie were so much cuter I swear some of Disney first options are so much better than what we get in the end it like wish all over again also, I love the idea of Eric just being like she’s scary but she pretty I love you so much. I wish we got a version like that.
I didn't get to watch the movie cuz it just... didn't caught my eye. Like, the visuals were so dull that I had no interest in watching it in theaters. I'm sure it would've been eye-catching and magical (like it was a fairytale which it is supposed to be) if it was given the same treatment as Avatar there like you said in the video. Also, now that I've think abt it, your version of The Little Mermaid gave me the impression of it being like a reverse Beauty and The Beast and I'm here for it-
Firstly, I LOVE and ADORE the redesign of Ariel with bith her forms! She just looks so darling and pretty!! Also, I love how you bring up the noises she could make, why Tritan was so hesitant and worried for Ariel to go out in the sea(Maybe his Wife could of lost her life because she got too immersed in the other world, which caused her passing), And situations that would make Ariel and Eric become more closer with each other through out the movie! Like, I can just imagine how clumsy she could be, And Eric helping her out to walk better(Possibly thinking she fell off a ship and is water logged from it. Or just shaken up from it). Makes their love story feel so much more and make people want to see them get together in the end! Even rise up the stakes!
I remember watching that movie in the cinema with the intent that it would be a so bad it's good experience with my friends. It was not. It was a so bad we all wanted to die type of movie. Emma Watson is no Belle and I disagree that she looks pretty close to Belle. She doesn't. She is a pretty girl, but in a different way. She is not Belle pretty. Belle has soft round features. Emma is very angular and has some pretty harsh features that are fantastic for modeling but not for playing a character like Belle. Also, Emma had an entitled me me me attitude, which does not fit with Belle's character. But it generally seems that Disney loves hiring entitled, insufferable Karens to play the live action versions of their princesses. I agree with your entire dress rant. It is pathetic that Disney tries to push a narrative that women and girls want to actually be men and that all feminine traits and interests are shunned as a bad thing because modern feminism is about hating the feminine and celebrating the masculine. Your design a thousand times better than the live action design cancer. In case you haven't, I recommend you check out the French La Belle Et La Bete from 2014 if you are hungry for some great dresses. That movie was like "why give Belle only one dress when we can give her 6 or 7? Why not one in every color of the rainbow while we are at it?" That movie, while not having the best cgi and script, certainly makes up for everything in style. And the Belle in that movie actually looks like Belle. Soft features and intelligent eyes.
Freakin' beautiful man! Great job!! For real. (IF I EVER CATCH MY SELF WANTING TO COSPLAY ARIEL......OGNFJCN This was awesome frfr! lmfaothe belch from the depths of hell emerged and made me jump! I HAD MY HEADPHONES IN AS WELL. Very demure. Very Classy. 💖
I heard Ariel's OG voice actress literally had her vocal coach in the recording booth with her, coaching her through every line of the "Part of Your World" song. Of course Live Action Ariel wouldn't get it "right." Nobody could because it's hard to match the scope of the OG actress.
FIRST OF ALL..IM FUCKING SCREAMING I LOVE IT! i love that you made her more...non human! ❤❤❤ also the first design of what they were gonna do for ariel...ATE...I LOVE THE PINK SO VIBRANT...the hair seemed to look better to! As for how you felt about halle's voice i can understand. She could have sang the song kinda the same as the original haha. But hey🤷♀️
I love these redesigns so much!! The variation in scale color (and countershading being kept in mind for her mermaid appearance!) translating to look like vitiligo in human form as a reference to the mermaid appearance is amazing!
Also I love that you decided to go for a more sea-creature look for ariels mermaid design, I really think that they should have gone that way with the remake so when she becomes human it's more of a shock.
That sounded bad, I didn't mean to say it would be a shock to see a black woman I meant it as in it would be a shock to our inhuman looking mermaid suddenly looking like a human woman. Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone.
I understand your dislike for Ursula tbh 😅 to me she was kinda boring and I didn't really care for here and her human version did NOT make it better (i thought her human form was kinda ugly in my opinion 😭😭) also i love you're Ariel design she's so pretty
Omg, Ariel looks so beautiful and stunning!! You really outdid yourself with this design of The Little Mermaid, and this is now one of my favorite re-designs of Disney princesses 😁👍❤️🧜♀️
Monster fucker Eric was not on my bingo card, but I’m taking it. I need it. The eyes are so pretty too. Ariel’s hair in the movie had the same problem G3 Clawdeen had for a good while there: the hair’s just about the same color as her skin/fur and they forgot its contrast or bust lol.
Actually i do agree that the costumes arent very 1830s to us …. But its set in the carrabians thats why is more flowy, those dresses are basically just the 1830s chemise a la reine so while yeah theyre boring low key they are somewhat realistic since the climate is way hotter in the isles…. So yeah
I saw of the outfits that where worn and there still pretty close tot he shape just a little less fabric my only true issue is hers wasnt fancy enough it can still be simple but like she needs more shes the main character and a princess a bit more drama couldnt hurt
The designs are so pretty! I adore the mermaid design and the ideas behind it. Honestly I would love to see you redesign Ursula, Beast form Beauty and the Beast and pretty much all the characters from Alice in Wonderland or Maleficient, your ideas are so cool. Movies like Beetlejuice, Lisa Frankeinstein, Labyrint and original Hellboy have spoiled me with practical effects and I wish Disney would use them more. Gaaaa I can only imagine how would this movies look with practical effects, so cool, so fun.
I don’t understand why theses companies do just go all out with the dresses and costumes?? Like I know it will cost a lot of money but my god it would be worth it and it would look much nicer
She looks so pretty in both ways ❤️ Love you made her more accurate as a fish like creature and kept many of those traits in human form, really helps tie it all together
Wonderful redesigns as always! ✨️ I think the most devastating change in the remake for me is how dialed back Tritons acting was. The lack of emotion compared to the original made me sad. Hes a loving father who cares about his daughter but can loose his temper. The lack of emotion just made ariel running off less impactful
A big issue I had with the remake is that her sisters looked so much better than her. A HUGE misconception with the story is Ariel had body dysmorphia, disliking her appearence. While I love your mermaid redesign, I do think that'd be a worry for me if they made Ariel look drastically different.
Eric and Ariel getting more time to bond and having a common interest in collecting objects was the only thing I liked about this movie, me an my cousin saw it in the cinema and we both really didn’t like it at all. Why add extra runtime if you’re not going to add something extra?!
