Vincent Deslandes, also known as “Delz”, is the creator behind Designs by Delz. A self-taught knitter, he flourishes in the face of challenges and embraces learning new techniques as he launches into one knitting adventure after the other. His background as a professional translation editor as well as his love for mathematics and problem-solving, allow him to produce precisely written patterns that are intended for knitters of all ages, genders, sizes and skill levels.
Maxim Cyr (Max) has something of a dual personality: by day he is a childrens’ book author and illustrator, by night, he is a passionate knitter who launched his first pattern, the “For Fox Sake” sweater in December 2018. What he loves most is to insert one of his illustrations into a knitwear pattern which delivers a traditional look with a modern touch.
I'm loving all of the knitting. And yes... Vincent you should redo the wind whistles in your yarn and in black 🖤 I'd be happy to knit the new sample. Thanks so much for the pod!
I didn’t get a chance to chat with you guys, but I did get a quick pic, thank you! It was my very first Rhinebeck and the Bumpy was the first cardigan I’ve ever made…love the pattern and loved the British DK.
What a great trip! We cruised the Baltic last summer, and I bought almost the exact same yarn as Vincent! So curious to see what you do with the Aade-mine is still in my stash.
Oh! Thanks for mentioning it - RU-vid changed the settings recently and we haven't looked. The ads are placed automatically and we can't modify immediately after uploading. We usually delete a few placements!
I'm a bit late to the party. Life was very lifely the last two months. Enjoying your podcast nonetheless while knitting on the Mini Montrealer for my son. Hope to finish it for his 8th birthday on Saturday. ❤
It was nice to meet Vincent at Flock. I made a beeline to your booth in order to get your cute bag. In future, I wish you would use a higher quality of canvas. I saw Maxim but we didn't talk. Your yarn and designs are beautiful! I really wish you still had a kit for the Yeti Cowl!
I’ve been weaving and knitting throughout the summer and also attending CrossFit three times a week. Summer has been great. I always enjoy your podcast, thanks.
I was fortunate to shop your yarn in person at Flock and I am head over heels in love with the silk mohair in "Jonathan's Soft Day". Please tell me the inspiration for that name? I hope to buy a sweater quantity in that color way soon- it's like nothing I've ever seen🥰
Hi Max and Vincent. I Just got done watching the episode and I’m so sad that I missed you at the Flock Festival. I live next door to Seattle and really wanted to go but we were camping on the Oregon Coast. Next year for sure and I hope you guys make it. 😊I would love to meet you. I just got done ordering Mystery Garden. Can’t wait to see it.
My creating slows in the summer because there is limited nice weather to get done all the things that can’t be done in the winter months. I did your For Fox Sake pattern, except I turned it into a poncho. I do want to reknit it as a sweater it was intended to be though. I have to start my Christmas making for my kids so it will be a while before I get to reknit it. I have some crochet toys to get going on. I have been super sick for a week and it was really nice to watch you guys. I order a couple skeins of your yarn and look forward to getting.
Fun episode! Loved hearing about your travels, and the success at Flock. Can't wait to see the colorways in the Mysterious Garden. Every time you release a new Happy Hour, my project queue grows LOL Cheers, Kim
When you come back to Boston, please update us on your plans! I'd love to meet you both either at an LYS or a gay bar. Wish I had known you were going to Gather Here! I would have joined you for a little shop and taken you to my favorite nearby coffee shop for a stitch and bitch.
Hey Vincent and Max! I love that your having retro lemonade from concentrate. I visited your shop on Tuesday and tried on & bought one of the Nightfall kits. Thank you Vincent for your help sorting out the sizing and mods I need when I knit the pattern. I can’t wait to start this as one of my Fall knits. I am doing the tourist thing today so I will finish this episode later.
