I did like NYC when I visited as a solo traveller. But when I visited a friend in Ontario we drove up to Montreal for couple days and I loved it and it felt a lot like my home city of Melbourne Australia, except for the duo language of course. Bonjour hello 😊
Look into "hump jumper" for thick/ many layer ease of sewing. I made my own and use it frequently even though my machine sews through many layers easily. It really helps even out the seams. Fun episode, congrats on Soup.
Thanks for the tip! I got a walking foot (I don't know if I've mentioned it in the episode? I forget!) and that helped a lot, but I love getting more tips 😊
Ohhhh I am so happy! I am new to knitting and your show came up on my feed and I am so glad! Looking forward to bingeing your episodes! With love and fuzz, Samira 🧶🦄🐹☘
You too are too sweet!!! ❤. Loved meeting you Max and Tanya. Cant wait to meet you Vincent. Next time, here on a beach 😉. I’ll get working on that, stay tuned…. Vincent - safe travels to Yarndale!!!
Love you guys! 🥰 Any interest in making The Yetis Cowl kits with your new colorways? I’ve just finished knitting Yetis Cowl with my leftovers from LAST year’s Holiday Mystery Box. What a great pattern for using leftovers! Thank you for yet another great pattern!
Cheers to both of you! I love seeing your creations...so talented. I just finished my Once in Floral sweater. Loved knitting it and know I will wear it often. Its my second colorwork sweater. Looking forward to your new colorwork design. Have fun in the UK Vincent and safe travels. See you in 2 weeks!
So nice to see you both. Great haul from VKL, and both WIPs look fantastic. That blue is to die for! I got the Mysterious Sea subscription one minute after it went up (that's how long it took to put it in my cart and pay) and I can't wait to see the colors you've come up with. In the last couple of weeks I've finished a shawl, finished a pair of socks and cast on another, continued working on a throw, and cast on my Rhinebeck cardigan. The pattern is STOLT and it's full of cables and twisted stitches, both of which I love. I,too,am a tight knitter and had to go up two needle sizes. Safe travels, Vincent, and have fun at home, Max. See you in a couple of weeks.
I love Buffy so much, and have been rewatching the series again. Also, Fireweed Fiber Co has a Buffy yarn club going on this year. The February yarn is Drusilla inspired, and I love that character.
Hello Max & Vincent! I’m always happy to watch your podcast. I have not made it to vogue knitting, live yet, and hope to in the future. I just finished Time Trades by Kaitlyn Hunter. I’m currently finishing up my valentines day Sophie shawl, and getting ready to cast on the Kraken cowl for Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. I’m also definitely planning on another year of going to Rhinebeck in the fall. Have a fun trip Vincent.🧣🥂🧶🤗
Hey All! I am watching this while I knit a certain fun test knit! I was excited to see this Happy Hour pop up on my phone! Was hoping to see you guys announce a second installment for the his dark materials club!
Went to VKL. It was fun, sorry to have missed you. I am with Vincent, no musicals...they drag out for too long..hahahah. I love Jinx so bet that was fun! Great podcast guys!
Was it the time hotel?? I JUST stayed there haha! Chicago was right outside my window and Book of Mormon right next door. LOVED the hotel- perfect for anyone looking to explore the shows!
always great to see you guys. Vincent, not sure how you feel about blueberries, but I tried something in Maine called a Blueberry Gin Fizz... it was 1.5 oz of gin, 1 oz of blueberry syrup (not like pancake syrup, but maybe like coffee flavoring syrup? I bought some from a local brewery but they don't make it anymore), shake over ice and top with seltzer. serve with a couple of blueberries on a stick. It is DELICIOUS. And I agree with you about NYC... I'm close enough to drive in for a day, but usually it's just to go to a museum or a show. I get really burnt out from it quickly. But, if you can see Book of Mormon, do it. It really is a good show.
Vincent sorry you missed our Saturday dinner (even if it was in New York!) Looking forward to seeing you both in Bermuda! 🤣 (I just messaged Beth to tell her to get organized.) ...and Soup 🤣💕 -Kate
Such a fun watch! Love the bag!! ...about Brooklyn Tweed, i think it is a woolen spun, which is why it has the warmth factor, as I understand it...can you speak to the reason that attribute is not often listed. Would love to know this when deciding on a purchase. Thanks for these shows. :)
Yes, Shelter is indeed woolen spun. We're not sure why it is not often listed! Maybe because it's rarer, or that people who know about the difference can recognise it by seeing the yarn in person? (They didn't account for all the online shopping nowadays!)
Vincent - what’s your favorite gin? I keep getting Bombay Sapphire because that’s the first G&T I ever had, but am wondering if I should try other gins. So glad you’re doing the podcast regularly-I really enjoy watching! You’ve both inspired me to learn to weave-I’ll be starting lessons on a harness loom next week and if I enjoy that will probably invest in a rigid heddle loom.
Bombay Sapphire is a classic choice! We have a great neutral local gin I would say would be my favourite, Portage, but Hendrick's is definitely up there as well!
Awwwwwwwww hamsters!!! I used to raise teddy bear hamsters..fun pet! Soup is a perfect name!! I'm so excited for the new club!! I actually set an alarm!! 😂😂🤣 I'm always jealous when people talk about LYS's, the closest one to me is a 3 hour drive away (Jimmy Bean's wools is a 4.5 hour drive).
Super apologies re: my sweater race comment. Always lighthearted teasing only meant and I think I’m funnier than I am. As I usually cast on 5 new per one finished, my reason and logic seem to have a hiccup. Love all the things and congrats on the family growth :)
I tried to watch this episode but there were just so many adverts. I just skipped on that was 35 minutes long to be greeted with another ad not 20 seconds later. sorry guys, would have loved to watch the whole episode but after 18 minutes and roughly 12 adverts. I had to move on.
The two most mispronounced Finnish words are: sauna and Laine Magazine. As. Finnish Canadian, I am here to set the record straight. Sauna is pronounced “sow-na” and not “saw-na”. Laine is pronounced “lie-nah”. I know that you were only talking about the magazine, but I had to throw in the other mispronunciation. 99% of the world pronounces it incorrectly, and I just wanted to share that here. It actually makes my brain hurt when people pronounce it incorrectly. Cheers 😊🇨🇦🇫🇮
English is not their first language…it’s natural to want to pronounce Laine with a french twist, as Laine is also a french word that means wool for us. Also, in french we also say « sow-na » but again, they make an effort to do this podcast in english. They don’t have to, they could do this in french and it would be much easier for them. Everyone can’t have the same generic accent in this world. 🇲🇶
@@dominiquebilodeau2225 I speak French - I know what the word means in French. They were questioning the pronunciation, and I was just telling them the correct way to pronounce it. I always pronounced French words with a French accent, and I always pronounce Finnish words with the correct accent.
