'Thank You' for subscribing to my channel - Yours - Robert Lane.
Thank you for this video. I would like to add that, because of the 2 pieces o-rings, the pressure at the breather hole is only ambient air pressure and is not the air pressure within the tank. Therefore, the Hoop Stress in this area of the tube is ZERO and so there's no chance for failure due to the breather hole, ever. (Not the same situation if the hole is for a pressure gauge which implies that there will be hoop stresses involved, because of the pressure.)
What sort of speeds are you getting? This is amazing technology If you can get 750 ft./s with a 300 grain bullet with a one and one twist then this is actually a viable hunting cartridge equivalent to 338 razerback is you have a 1-3 twist
Hóla una consulta tengo un válvula reguladora que traen los rifle de Marca fox se le podrá hacer una mejora para tener mejor rendimiento desde ya te agradezco saludo de Argentina
Unbelievably amazing explanation, I had the concept in mind as logic and wanted someone to explain to see if I am thinking right and here is the golden video. Really thank you for your honesty because everyone saying increase the regulator 🤦🏻
i'm planing to build my own PCP and was thinkin to make a hole at the same diameter as the barrel to keep an even velocity and flow throught the air way. Is that correct or I realy need that narrow path?
I’ve only put one round through it and have had it filled for 24 hours. ru-vid.comUgkxuuTOBP7pzC6RDNNaxoSjjV4-7jpsUjXX No audible or visible leaks so far. It’s definitely loud. I’m impressed with the look, and I have to say that I’ve been avoiding this rifle because of the looks. It feels great to hold and it’s light enough to carry. It looks much different in person. I chose to purchase this one because it checked all the boxes for what I intend for it, minus the look. I’m very happy with this air rifle
I'd advise that you never use a silicon lubricant on your rifles especially if there's metal on metal contact,, it's ok for o-rings but just most minute amount,,,I made this mistake many years ago as an apprentice engineer after relieving the company stores of a new tub of silicone grease with the intention of lubing up the spring and any moving parts on my pride and joy at the time a Webley Tracker carbine "springer" with a factory camo stock,,,, let's just say that I wish I'd been paying more attention at college and not smoking as much weed in the pub next door to the collage on my dinner hours,,,,, my point is that silicone grease/ lubes are the Devil when it comes to metal,,,, it actually causes friction!! And is used in industry for Cold welding or Friction welding!!! let's just say that sound of grinding metal every time I cocked it still haunts me today,, don't get me wrong I'm not having a go as I enjoyed the video and found it very interesting it's just that I've noticed recently that a lot of other videos mention the use of silicone grease/lube and I've been meaning to say something about it but never got round to doing it,,,, it's just that I garentee there's some kids out there that are new to air gunning and it's going to be a shame if they make the same mistake as me back in the day,,,,
I wonder if its possible to add a fuel/oxidizer gas mixture that gets adiabatically compressed and ignited by an inrush of air so it has even higher power without resorting to extremely high air pressures.
Just spent a couple hours following your channel, and I've learnt more than I did in 3 years of messing around with PCP guns. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge here! Guess what: I'm gonna drill that effing breath hole tomorrow =D
Robert, you say all the regulators have remained the same. What is The Piston Head O.D. , Stem O.D. , Stem Bore I.D.? How about the spring itself, what are those dimensions please?
Robert, you mention the springs being very strong. What size is the one you've shown in this video? What is the OD, the ID and the length? Would appreciate an answer please, mate. cheers.
Hello Robert, can you help me out with the size of the spring in this regulator? Simply the OD, ID and length. I'd like to have a go at making my own as my rifles are quite different to the Marauder however the 'format' is very similar. I currently use the Chinese Bell washer regulators but I don't believe they are any good. Your spring system would be much more consistent, I believe. If you would help me with this info, I'd be grateful. Cheers
I'm thinking to myself, wouldn't you want to increase the volume between the reg and the valve throat? I'm probably thinking FAC purposes. But that would be the case, right?
Hello, please don't be too angry, there are so many fucken idiots around, it's not worth bothering with them. Your Reg's are fantastic and you are a great guy helping people. Cheers.
G'day Mr Lane (may I call you Robert?) It seems you are quite open to people experimenting on their own making, or trying to make, ones own regulator. To be honest, I'm an old retired pensioner and would attempt to do that if you can give me some guidance info, especially regarding the spring size (width and length) and wire thickness. The concept looks very nice and I can use a lathe quite well, even at my mature age. So far, I've been using those Chinese regulators available from AliExpress and it needs to be said, they are not a consistent and controlled reg. Your system is far more logical and given some thought, would provide a better solution. Hope you decide to offer me some assistance. Best regards.
May I ask if all your spring regulators have the same tension and then regulation happens via the threaded piston nylon seal? Also, in your expert opinion, which is the more consistent and accurate Reg, the spring type or the Bell washer type? Many thanks
Hi Rob,as a matter of interest and its maybe a silly question.what do you think of the enigma air rifle.would you recommend buy an older version or a NEW one?there seem subtle differences in stock designs etc but are there any internally? i really wouldnt mind one to add to the collection,i like the idea of the take down rifle and it looks well made
