My favorite artist by far. What a masterful musician and composer. Who else can drift at will so superbly from "prog pop" to hour-long prog instrumentals? Brilliant. On the pop side ranks right up there with the Earth Moving album, Moonlight Shadow, Islands, Discovery . So sad to hear repeatedly that the soon to be released TB4 Intro may be his last music we get to enjoy...... I cannot get his song and Pictures in the Dark anywhere in Canada. Just paid $100 to get The Platinum Collection CD from England....well worth it when it come to Mike Oldfield. I will continue to hope there may be more to come......My first M.O album was Five Miles Out....I remember hearing Taurus II and being blown away....played it five times in a row before I could move on.....there's more going on the first 5 minutes of that song that most bands have in an album, or a career....god bless this man. Thank you Mike for the absolute gift of your music.

Right here you can see where Mick Jagger asked about the Corrs opening for the Stones said "..they blew us off of our own stage." Mick was, being a "gentleman" of course but... Also Bono was quoted as saying this band was the loudest band he ever heard. Tribute to their sound engineer Max Bisgrove.
@@JohnLnyc Absolutely. Their peers from their time seem to have been quite enthralled, and not just because the sisters were very easy on the eyes as you intimated in your first comment. They were/are genuinely talented musicians. (They resurfaced in late 2015 (White Light), with the last live performances in late 2017 I believe - much of which can be found here and there on youtube as well.) It may just be me, but I find their live performances, which are all over youtube if one cares to search, much more entertaining and dynamic than their studio performances. Live, their obvious talent shines, even in crappy phone recordings many times. They seem to have been lumped into the 'girl band' category, or as too 'ethnic', back in the day by some industry schlub, but they are so much more than that. Am still an avid fan to this day - and unlike so many other bands, their music stands the test of time. There are a lot of hidden performance gems out there - along with a few very comical family moments. One just has to take the time search around youtube.
@@jamesperry7876 you are on to something. Good point. Even live acoustic performances are stunning. I too enjoy them more as live performers. Their records for the most part never seem to catch the excitement they can generate live. There is also some confusion in categorizing them (not necessarily a bad thing) but hard to sell to audiences. Good post!

Agreed, I am a huge Dolores fan but I was unimpressed by this one performance. Compare with Andrea Bocelli doing the same piece -- there is no comparison really.
