You asked what language the song towards the end was when they are all leaving the rule of the Pharaoh and it is Hebrew. I'm so glad you enjoyed this and hope you looked at all the actors.. amazing. 😊
*Sorry in advance for the long response* First of all, Billy I love it when you sing because I'm usually singing right along with you lol. Secondly, I've been wanting you to watch this for years now! Thank you! This is probably the most accurate version of this story so far....and God I really hope no one ever makes a live action version of this because they could never do it justice-- the West End theatre version was good but not the same. Thirdly, Ramese's father, Seti had a nightmare when he became Pharaoh, that one Hebrew baby born would be born and be responsible for the fall of his empire. Seti couldn't have that so he ordered that all baby boys be ripped from their mothers and thrown into the Nile to keep the prophecy from coming true. That's why God sent Moses to Pharoah's daughter(even though it's his wife in the movie)....to keep him safe. And lastly, I love all of the parallels in this story because the Bible is FILLED with parallels-- the basket that Moses was put in as a baby was first painted with a substance that was also used to keep the water out of Noah's ark centuries before, the fact that Moses left the herd to go after the one lost sheep is what Jesus says about those that are lost, he goes to look for them to bring them home, the water turned to blood in the Nile(you were absolutely right!), it was the blood that Ramese's father spilled, the plagues on Egypt were all specifically against the Egyptian gods to show the Egyptians that God is all powerful and their gods are nothing even close, the sacrificed lamb and blood on the door(it wasn't about the amount btw it was that it was done at all) was a parallel to Jesus(the sacrificial lamb of His people) and the vertical and horizonal lines of the cross where blood was spilled. One of my favorite scenes is ''Playing With the Big Boys'' because you think that it is a matter of Moses vs. Pharaoh or even the two wise men(who did have powers btw) or the Hebrews vs. the Egyptians....but it wasn't. It was a public showing of God vs. Satan. All of it. That scene, the plagues, everything. God hardened Pharaoh's heart so that He could prove His might to the world and generations to come. So glad you enjoyed as much as you did, we all knew you would. God bless you Billy.
30:44 Another detail in this movie I love that isn't actually stated in the Bible, is when Moses turned the water into blood but the water surrounding him is clear
Considering that I grew up watching this movie almost every year, it's embarrassing that it took hearing Billy mention how he was glad the animation changed for the massacre of the firstborn for me to understand WHY they changed the animation into something even more kid-friendly. I always just accepted that Moses fell alseep and started dreaming about history because he fell asleep in front of the wall
Fun Fact- the voice of Rameses is the same actor that played Voldemort in the Harry Potter movies. His sister is voiced by Sandra Bullock. And his wife is Michelle Pfeiffer.
Fun Fact: the voice of God is actually voiced by most/the whole of the cast. They just decided to make Val Kilmer's voice (Moses) louder. If you listen closely in the burning bush scene, you can hear the rest of the cast in a whisper.
They,re speaking Hebrew. Also, Ofra Haza who voices Moses’ mom sang her part in 18 different languages. And the voice of God is by Val Kilmer, who also voices Moses. I grew up on the french version of the movie so to me, it’s better in French. But the voice actors they got in English are just so great.
