I recently discovered a second Aldi supermarket in Chatswood in Victoria Avenue , however the complex was called Chatswood Place. This was almost opposite Chatswood Chase . Chatswood seems to have a history of multiple retail outlets under the same name . At one time there were 2 Target stores , 3 Franklins and even 2 Grace Bros stores , as well as 2 McDonald's !Now there are 2 Coles supermarkets , 2 Aldi and 2 TK Maxx outlets !
This complex I am talking about in my video is called "Chatswood Place" but also called "The Mix ". The original Aldi is in the Westfield before the 2nd Aldi opened up in Chatswood Place. Why? Probably because people don't like shopping in Westfield and prefer The Chase across the road on Victoria Ave and distance between the Westfield & The Chase. There are 2 Coles - The smaller more expensive Coles Local in Westfield and the larger one in The Chase. Love the one in The Chase but the Westfield one is closer to the station hence more convenient ( I actually hate shopping there). Yep 2 KFCs one in Westfield other at station entrance, 2 maccas but only one now near station entrance, A kmart in the chase but a target remains in Westfield but the Target is now selling less and less Target products and more and more zk mart home brand products - why? what is the point? Only one Myer now in Westfield thank goidnesd and separated away from DJ which is in The Chase. How about 2 NABs one near the station and one across from the Chase? I think all other banks only have one branch in Chstswood but 2 JB HIFI one at Westfield one at The Chase, 2 Telstras or was that 3 at one stage? 2 in Westfield the other 1 in The Chase on different levels . Thank goodness there is one only in Westfield now because their customer service is so bad! Yep Chatswood the suburb of duplicates . Only good thing in Chatswood the duplicate train system normal trains verses Metro trains! Chatswood need more then just a tiny Woolworths Metro located near the station. And guess what is coming back to the Northern suburbs Losurdos!!!!! I remember shopping there when they were located at Macquarie Shopping Centre when the Franklin's was there and when they were in Greenwood Plaza before the IGA supermarket was there. I think they are replacing the old Fruiteze but in a different location in The Chase which again were located both in Westfield & The Chase! Talk about duplication!!! Oh yeh TKMaxx again duplication in Mandarin Centre now in Westfield . Why? I missed one Kiiki K also in both Westfield & The Chase
@@dulcinealee3933 You have certainly done a most comprehensive job rounding off the list of duplicates in Chatswood ! Regarding Woolworths , a similar situation exists in Castle Towers , which is also dominated by Coles . I suspect that there might be some sort of monopoly or stranglehold ! 🤔. I also remember Woolworths variety in Chatswood , which had a mezzanine level and a delicatessen counter .
@@murraykitson1436 I assume woolworths variety is before Big W and like similar to the Town Hall Woolworths before they out a Big W on the top floor to replace the Woolworths - how I loved shopping there before the Big W - always loved the surprise finds at the old Woolworths such as shoes clothes souvenirs all sorts of stuff etc
Woolworths variety began in 1924 , Big W in 1964 at Jesmond, Newcastle, and Woolworths supermarkets in 1957 . Most prominent suburbs as well as country towns had Woolworths variety , and Coles also had their own version which probably came first , in Melbourne , and this building eventually became David Jones men's store and has since closed down, as has Sydney's. This is such a complex story that I have just touched on the basics, however I found relevant information which may be interest to you. I felt tempted to send the links , but was not sure whether that would be appropriate . These include; Googling Woolworths variety and Chatswood CBD Willoughby Historical Society . There was a Big W store in Chatswood in the former Benjamin's department store on the west side of the railway. BBC Hardware began in Chatswood as Benjamin's Building Centre at the lower end of Victoria Avenue. I could go on and on , and this is the reason for the delay, wondering where to start 🤔. PS : The suburban variety stores were similar to Woolworths Town Hall, Coles had a city store which ran from George Street to Pitt Street beside The Strand Arcade.
Thank you for watching my shorts. I had no idea a simple video of a new product would generate so many views and I'm not even sponsored by HP I just like HP products
It's not at Circular Quay. Nowhere near it. Go to Martin Place where the big tree is watch that light up to the sound track before you wallk up Martin Place towards Macquarie Street. Walk across the road to Hyde Park Barracks where Noel Sydney trail starts and follow the crowds along Macquarie Street towards The Royal Botanic Garden Gates. You have things to see along the way before you enter the garden gates.Hope this helps. You need around 2 - 3 hours to enjoy everything including a snack or drink. Wait until 16th Dec as there is meant to be a drone show which was not on when I went.
Glad you liked our projection, if you would like to see the whole show at high resolution ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xZvyCia2t3E.html
Hi Kynjara, glad you liked our exhibit, we will be releasing the full remastered soundtrack on Sunday :) Be sure to follow us on @oasisatvivid on Facebook and Instagram for the announcement.
No it was not surprisingly. I thought it was going to be a miniture catwalk of one of their collections using several dolls but only one doll came out onto the catwalk and it was actually part of the exhibition as there are dolls used throughout the exhibition. Maybe a different doll comes out onto the catwalk every 15 to 30 minute intervals - I did not stay to find out sorry.
