1st of all I am still fuming over the last minute cancellation of the Transport Heritage NSW T3 Bankstown Line Last Passenger Train ride that was suppose to take place at 1.40 am on 21st Sept 24 departing Central on platform 22.
I have blacklisted any of their events from my list of annual places of interest & things to see and do.They have been quite curt with their responses to all my inquiries & not directly answering my questions . I was nice to them on the phone but do not wish to deal with them anymore. I feel that there was more to the cancellation then just due to industrial action. Trains are still running this weekend despite industrial action. There may be some changes to the rail timetables ( not from what I can see on the Transport NSW website Sat morning) but trains are still running .So someone is lying. They blame Transport NSW for not notifying them until 10 am Fri 20th Sept 24 of the cancellation due to industrial action .
2nd I issue a DISCLAIMER on anything mentioned in this video, I'm not a professional trainspotter so I could be incorrect in some of the information mentioned in this video as they are drawn from observation. Also many of my comments of my life growing up in Sydney & my family or friends mentioned may or may not be 100% correct as they are drawn from childhood memories. Where did I actually go to school? In Aust or OS? Do I actually have siblings that live in Australia or are they residing overseas?
Am I actually with a real friend in the video or was I talking to a chatbot or to myself? Were they really a friend of mine?
Who was that person that butted into my conversation & made the comment about the St Peter's skating rink in the 1990s? That was a real random stranger who butted in on my conversation with my friend when we were near Canterbury Station! Ha Ha they are now on my RU-vid channel!
This was actually a lot of fun today where my out of town friend and I both went on a real train adventure out to the Western suburbs where we don't venture out to.
We covered a lot of ground today discovering the many cafe/small restaurants, hidden Asian grocery stores, churches with their unique architecture, the old police station building, pubs on both sides of the station, a walk to Platform 0 ( This is the special separate single stop direct train to Olympic Park Station a legacy train line from the Sydney 2000 Olympics and not a Harry Potter fantasy platform , it's real and is actually platform # 0), an option to travel back on the same T3 line to either Dulwich Hill to take the L1 back to Haymarket or all the way back to Sydenham to catch the M1 Metro back to Central ( we chose this option in the end & there was a bit of a giggle when a group of mainly guys boarded the Metro with one never having been on a train before & just as excited as my out of town friend was!), we had another option to take a much faster train trip back to Central that was via the Inner West line stopping at Strathfield & Ashfield , ( if I had stayed on platform 1 it was a 2 stop express train to Centrail or a train via Strathfield could have taken me close to home all the way from Lidcombe to Chatswood).
Arriving back at Central it was a walk to the Grand Concourse to take the L1 lightrail to Paddy's Market closest stop to where we spent the rest of the evening - Fri Night Chinatown Markets where we had my fav. dim sums ( also known as dim sims) a combination of 5 different ones from the East Ocean Restaurant stall which is really popular & a walk to & around Darling Square where we sat under the Moon Festival lit lanterns listened to music to eat them & finally a walk around the top floor of Market City's 1906 dining district which used to be the original food court now all restaurants open until late. I even got my friend to try a traditional Emperor's Garden lotus paste no egg yoke moon cake. He wanted the large one for $20 each and did not list what was in it exactly ( well not in English anyway, ) after I persuaded him not to, he wanted the $15 one in the same size & I said no I think you should just try the $6 plainer single serve one first. I made it clear I wasn't eating one because I already had 2 different $9 each koko black ones! I don't like ones with eggs in them though! I advised my friend that the single serve moon cake he just scoffed was high in cholesterol because it is made from lard! And he wanted the large 4 serve deluxe one!!!!
A walk back to Central where we passed the Sydney YHA that he had booked the most expensive room for Sat night to stay in. He will be disappointed as he thinks he is going to get a 5 star hotel room - no it's a youth hostel , it may have parking & a roof top pool but the most expensive room with an ensuite cannot compete with the most basic room at a hotel .
He walked me to the Metro @ Central where I hopped on back to Chatswood ( Do I actually live in Chatswood? No) .
Good night. Thx 4 watching!
