this is real simple.. if you want more and more to use linux, Linux is going to have support Outlook, Office, 3rd party applications like Video Surveillance systems and door access control systems like SoftwareHouse CCURE 9000, Point of sale, billing sofware, the office / staff / techs dont care if its windows.. they just want the applications to work they are use to , fix that and linux can be number one.
Great interview and thank you for your videos. I have just surpassed a 30 day challenge i have started with Debian and am continuing to use it. Guess i should make a video 😂
Hey Jay, I have bought a TMux Mouse Pad sometime in Apr 2024, and the print for the commands is not visible. I have asked multiple times for a replacement, and would appreciate if you could help me with the recall.
Great guide! I installed mine on Debian Sid. FYI: The link to the commands and configuration is broken. Anyone else using Nextcloud on Debian Sid? Share your tips!
Having become used to Apple trackpads that are high quality and allow clicking anywhere on them, I have not found another laptop that has a trackpad I don't hate. This is the #1 sticking point for me.
What about the Framework Laptop 16? It is a better competitor to this imo. It has a better keyboard, the keyboard isn't restricted to ISO layouts, the screen is 16 : 10 rather than 16 : 9, the fingerprint sensor actually works in Linux, it supports Ubuntu and Fedora officially, and it is the most upgradable laptop in a LONG time.
For those of you who may not be able to get a Tuxedo A good runner up would be the Lenovo brand E-series/T-series/and finally the P-series. Lenovo supports Linux 100% and you don't have to worry about being locked down to Windows11. Apple cant do that...😆
Simple things like wallpaper slide show from a specified folder for a dual monitor setup with different image om each monitor can take one a whole week to figure out on linux til you give up
I like seeing more dedicated Linux machines , this one just doesn't wow me enough to move away from my ThinkPads. I also do minimal gaming on a laptop as that's what my desktops are for , so I might not the the right audience for this laptop.
Already for 5 years I use Tuxedo laptop (Intel based) with Fedora. There is an issue with Tuxedo drivers and Control Center, because you need to install them from Copr repositories and sometimes after distro upgrade you have to find a new updated and working repository. But since 20 years ago I had my worst Linux experience only with Debian based distros, I avoid them for any cost and same applies to Tuxedo OS. 😀 About keyboard backlight, then it's too bright for everyday use, but you can turn brightness down in Tuxedo Control Center, where you can also change backlight color. One more great feature I recommend if you use your laptop mostly as stationary, then in Tuxedo Control Center under Settings -> Battery charging options, set "Stationary use". It will help to not overcharge your battery.
Hi, can anyone recommend a channel for me to learn linux. I have been a coder since 1973 (CDC 6000) but I have exclusively used Windows so when it comes learning linux I need someone who shows you from the ground up, this channel assumes a working knowledge of linux. Any ideas or shall I stay with MS? Regards David
I really enjoyed your Linux for beginner playlist & you taught me a lot about Linux commands & explained concepts in simple terms. Will continue to learn Linux from your channel. Thank You So Much for making this great content on RU-vid..
Very interesting. How is the gaming performance? I have the InfinityBook 7th and 9th gen. The 7th Gen trackpad is much better, but I'm using an external keyboard and trackball. The 7th Gen Intel is often very noisy. The 9th gen AMD is completely silent!
This one is already a few months available, right? (since april here in NLD) InfinityFlex 14 Gen 1 is newer (and different) One plus for me on the Sirius is the numberpad.
@19:41 In case somebody interested -- LE can verify domain ownership without you exposing the machine to the internet. It could be done with dns01 challenge. Your dns hoster must support this challenge type though. Moreover with dns01 you could issue a wildcard cert. I, for one, use it for my docker machine and my containers are accessible (only in my lan) via their respective names as subdomain.
Out of curiosity, which System 76 laptop and laptop specs (if not base config) are you using for the demo? I have been looking at their laptops and generally like the specs and look.
At last an honest Linux assessment. Good job 👍 Especially about the Linux toxicity and the contempt for anyone who doesn't want to make it all about whose dick is bigger. The worst part is the simple minded, no reasons given, "I hate/I love". And ignoring just how many dead and out of date links get bandied about as "solutions".
Great tutorial! I'm new to working with SD cards and need to create a bootable image of one to send to my team and was struggling with read errors. It seems like there's more reddit threads than real docs on how to do this. You're a lifesaver thank you.
