I often wonder how much more Dunn would have been popular or noticed had Alsttot not been on that team. I believe he was overshadowed by Alsttot. He was a very good person off the field.
I like the Jim Eisenreich mention. He had a beautiful swing. Moreover, I liked how Harry Caray pronounced his name with "Ei" being so throaty. But that was strange seeing Dutch and Eisenreich in teal. But also, glad they won a ring. Thank you so much for the comment and thanks for watching the video.
Seemingly, he was on his way to great career numbers before the injury issues with the Orioles. Nonetheless, I still think he's a Hall of Famer. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching the video. Enjoy the MLB postseason.
Hey here's a video idea for you to consider. Who were the best left tackles of the 90s? I feel like that time had so many great ones in the league. Roaf, Ogden, Walter Jones, Pace, Bruce Armstrong, Richmond Webb, Lomas Brown, Gary Zimmerman, Tarik Glenn, etc.
Always great to hear from you. The first name that came to mind was Erik Williams. I have been thinking about doing a video about him. I think you named some great LTs. Yes, there were so many. However, I have to admit and always want to be honest, but analyzing offensive line play, is not one of my strengths. When growing up watching football (and even today) my eyes naturally gravitate toward the QB and skill position players. That's why I like instant replay and listening to John Madden announcing games because he always liked to give love to the O-Line. Interestingly, when he was in college, I thought Lincoln Kennedy was a special LT. But anyways, thank you so much for everything.
Great video on Warrick Dunn. He had an excellent career, and is truly one of the most thoughtful people the NFL has ever been blessed with. I also remember his remarks on Bobby Petrino, along with a few other Falcons players. I also thought at the time "Damn if Warrick Dunn is mad with you, then you fudged up bad."
I was just rewatching the 1999 NFC Championship so this came out with perfect timing. I was also an Eric Rhett fan growing up in the 90s but I quickly became a bigger Warrick Dunn fan (this was before the Bucs destroyed my Raiders in the SB and I used to cheer on the Bucs for the NFC). And as far as who I hated with a passion but respect so much now, without question it’s Tom Brady.
Thanks for the comment and thanks for being a sub. I also might have to go back and watch that 99 NFC Championship Game, which was something. That Bucs D (in my humble opinion), was the best defensive performance I ever saw in a game. Although it was low-scoring, I thought it was a great game. Interesting that you mentioned Tom Brady. Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching the video. Yeah, he left right when they won the Super Bowl. That story about his mother is so heartbreaking. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the NFL season.
I enjoyed your video on Warrick Dunn 90s Sports Nostalgia also I am glad you highlighted his NFL career as a Buccaneers and Falcons player. Also I'm happy that you liked him even though you didn't like him at first but we all have that one player we disliked but overtime we will respect the player so without that being said i hope you have a great week and I will look forward to seeing your next video whenever you drop it.
Thank you so much for everything. The next video will be about Andre Rison. I hope I can get it finished on Sunday Sept. 29. Hope you are having a great September. Thanks again for all of the support.
Thank you so much for your interest in this video. To simply put it, Warrick Dunn is a tremendous human being. Who was an NFL player you couldn't stand growing up, but wound up really liking later on?
Once upon a time in the 90s had Mark Brunell not sure if Kurt Warner was there long enough but he was there as well .and I believe Matt Hasselbeck not bad among other talents at the position
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for watching the video. You're the 2nd person to mention Ironhead from Super Tecmo Bowl. I messed up. Instead, I used a screenshot from Star Tropics. Great comment. I enjoyed reading it. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for watching this video. Don't forget to subscribe. NOTE - I apologize, around the 2:23 mark, the footage is blurred because of ownership of the material. I apologize for that.
I remember him being talked about as ~290lbs in his playing days. His acceleration was absolutely insane for a guy with his build and weight. Freakish athlete.
So in 1987, that was kind of the first year when I began watching college football. Hence, I was not old enough to experience the Ironhead years at Pitt. But the point is, I really enjoy Pitt football history and I wish I was old enough to experience those Ironhead years at Pitt. It sounds like you had a great time. I wish I could've been part of that crowd. Thank you so much for your comment. I really enjoyed reading it.
Should have won the Heisman in 1987. He was an absolute monster in college. Pitt had no quarterback play in the late 80’s and teams knew they had to stop Ironhead, couldn’t do it. He ran for 254 yards against the 1986 Miami Hurricanes. They knew what was coming and couldn’t stop him.
I used to love IRON HEAD. ( But iron head wats with thingy) Lol Zesty commercial all time classic. I have a request. I would love it if you would do a Barry Foster video. Steelers all time record for RUSHING YARDS in a season.
Thank you so much for the request. I actually did complete a Barry Foster video maybe about 2 years ago. It was about his quest to get the rushing title in 1992. The title is - Barry Foster in 1992 with the Pittsburgh Steelers / Foster vs Emmitt Smith for the rushing title. Thank you once again and enjoy the rest of the NFL season.
MY GUY USED TO LOVE IRON HEAD. Remember the commercial he did. LOL. I got request. I would love to see you do a Barry Foster Video. Steelers all time record for RUSHING YARDS YDS in a season.
Thank you so much Tony for everything. I actually did do a Barry Foster video about his 1992 season going against Emmitt Smith for the rushing title. It was released about two years ago but here is the link if interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8JaGhqvrbdI.html It was one of my favorite videos to make. Barry was awesome in 1992. Thank you once again for all of the support, but most importantly, enjoy Week 1 of the NFL season.
