Short bouts of heavy rain might cause some localised pooling of water on roads but rarely any substantial flooding. The steep slopes and fast runoff means most water makes its way into rivers and streams very quickly. Sometimes the waterways can be flashy.
We’ve had slightly less rain and more blue skies this July. Ripening is perhaps one or two weeks earlier than usual. To the east of Sapa, elevation is lower and the rice ripens and yellows earlier. Most of the district is still verdant green and harvesting won’t be for another 4 to 6 weeks.
Yeah. We offer something totally different. We can guess you visited Lao Chai and Ta Van doing the standard trek? It’s pretty, but lacks the same authenticity.
