What's interesting is that the original wording tells you to draw X card, but only put one into your hand. If it kept that wording, it would work with effects that want you draw a lot of cards
I'm running it in a colourless cascade deck running Zhulodok as my commander. Turns the high cost into an advantage and helps me dig through the deck for what I need.
This makes me wish either removal was more expensive or creatures were sturdier. All these creatures sound amazing, but the're trash, 7 mana blown while your opponent has 3x 2 mana removals in hand
Also, as an American... Metric is better for distance, weight, and most other things. That being said, Fahrenheit is a better temperature system for human scales. 0 is a damn cold winter day, 100 is too damn hot, 60-70 is a nice day outside, and if you go not much farther above 100 or below 0 you get to dangerous temperatures for humans. So the thing with Confetti Orb that you guys didn't mention is it's a fun reference to an urban legend where someone in tournament play tore up a chaos orb and sprinkled it onto their opponents' field. Dexterity cards in the vein of Orb/Star were for sure a mistake though even some of the newer versions like Devil K. Nevil (which is fun) can be a bother to play with. Also as a British Australian dual national I've never been so offended by a take I 100% agree with.
Fully agree!! If you and your play group wanna have the silliest game of commander absolutely. These definitely are the kinds of cards that rule 0 was made for. - Gramps
jeez i mean it's really unplayable. you would need some sort of way to cheat it out since you will almost never pay 10 mana for that and even then there are so much better targets for cheating out artifacts. and even if its onile i would much rather play an b b x draw x cards spell than that

So I feel the need to point out Bolas's Citadel is a card, also Artherflux Reservoir and Sensei's Top. These are all artifacts two of them cost less than three. Not counting the casual choice Blight steel but also I'm looking at cards that ALSO cost three that are either stax or Combo. Tinker IS NOT A STANDARD TUTOR. It's banned for very good reasons, leave it removed from the game.
Lmao guys cmon if you are tinkering up a sol ring, you are using tinker wrong. Its brokeness isnt its strength as a tutor, its brokenness is that it puts whatever you want ONTO THE BATTLEFIELD for 3 mana. Cheating mana costs is the most powerful thing a player can do
I can see this being an unban for cEDH but still banned for casual. Mainly cause let's say in cEDH you get the current best artifact. The one ring. Off of sacrificing a treasure from your dockside. And then spending 3 more for the spell. It's basically casting the actual card. And cEDH has the tools to deal with this.
I mean if cEDH has the tools to deal with it, so does Commander with the same restrictions. I definitely see what you’re saying though! And it would absolutely force a place style if this were unbanned unfortunately, making a meta of a metaless format. - Gramps
Let's not forget that treasures, clues, food, etc. Are in fact artifacts, and those are nearly free these days. Tinker's banning is justified, IMO. But rule zero exists so... *shrug*
time time first first. Green tends to have a lot of "fair" versions of this effect of sacrificing a permanent to get another similar permanent (Like birthing pod). Their balancing option of forcing the searched card to have a cmc tied to the sacrificed permanent (either 1 more or less) feels like it would still be powerful while not enabling turn 1/2 Blightsteel (on turn 2 also having the angle to throw a red instant at it to give it haste with Expedite or Crimson Wisps). tl;dr: fix tinker, make it red, and unban it. My Daretti, Scrap Savant deck would appreciate it.
Tinker should stay banned, but at most power levels most tutors should be banned. The fixed version of this is Beseech the Mirror, and that is too powerful for most casual power levels.
I will be honest at most times Beseech does feel like a more balanced tutor until you realise that mana value 4 or less and the cost of a bargain combined isn’t really that much of a downside - Gramps
I use voltaic construct with basalt monolit/grim monolit/ mana vault [any 3 mana producer works] then use karn, silver golem to animate the mana rock and infinite.
Paradox Engine being banned barely matters for Time Vault. Manifold Key, Voltaic Key, Clock of Omens, and Tezzerett the Seeker all give you repeatable untaps, for example

time long first time, I think if you're looking to "fix" time vault, just giving it "shroud" would be a good way of limiting how many ways you can go infinite with it without completely ruining the fun of going infinite. There's quite a lot of effects that are "take an extra turn, at the end of that turn, you lose the game" effects that I think it'd be a disservice to Vault to give it that specific ability
@@fernandob2275 original printing is the printing they discussed. The time counter mechanic was an errata afaik and even that has issues before it was perfected with Magosi I was new to the game but I remember the flame fusillade infinite combo back when the signature card came out
It’s always wonderful when you’re reminded or rediscover older cards. I was sorting my bulk recently and found a bunch of old slivers I forgot I had and refreshed the deck. - Gramps
