I have lived in Saskatchewan my whole life. I'm thinking of moving to another country but it's not because Saskatchewan isn't great, it's because the Canadian government sucks
As crazy as real estate prices have become in Canadian cities like Toronto and Vancouver, they remain a bargain compared to London. Worth noting that in the past, millions of Brits made the move to Canada following the World Wars. Many British children were moved to Canada during the wars for safety. Canadian infrastructure was never bombed and post war recovery was much quicker than Britain and provided more opportunities. My English mother came to Canada as a "war bride" after marrying my father, who was stationed back and forth between England and Holland throughout the war with the Canadian Infantry.
3 months to get a health card. 8 weeks to get a doctor appointment, nearest clinic is 2.5 hours away, asking for a tetanus shot is hilarious to the staff. Come back in 3 hours. 4 types of water, farm, industrial, household and drinking. I am not a cow so I have to drive 20km to haul water. -50C here last winter, warmest winter ever. Crime rate, local figured cops should arrest what she thought was homeless man. No. Tired tourist on that bench. Everybody is scared of what? Why? Everybody is a capitalist waiting for the wealth of the rich to rain down on them. While driving an $800 000 piece of equipment. Quebecois provide excellent service, super polite by comparison. Here they stab you in the back with a big fat grin. Fat! I have no idea where I will find new clothes. Lazy Slobs, see tetanus story,.from overworked staff
This province isn't that great, if you want to walk downtown in any of the cities and be harassed by homeless junkies, the potential to be stabbed or shot just walking down a street. There's a growing chance for home invasion.. not to mention the cost my power bill for a tiny 1 bedroom apartment and I don't own a tv is between 100 and 130 a month!! Cost of food is ridiculous, I'm in Edmonton for the week and the price differences at the two different Walmarts I couldn't believe how much cheaper things are here! Sask has gangs and drug violence on the rise that no one obviously wants to talk about or even admit it seems.
Hi Jack, great video! I have lived here now over 10 years, and I totally agree with you. I first moved to Northwest Sask Battlefords and loved it, the small rural communities were my favourite, lifelong friends made, met my partner and married in 2017, 3 kids and four cats later, bought our forever home, went to teacher's college at the UofS, now teaching Gr.6 Homeroom my second year in PA. I visited every province except Labrador and Nunavut Territory. But everytime I passed through Saskatchewan, it was my favourite, and just knew it was home. I lived in Nova Scotia 10 years prior, and it was wonderful too, the people are so wonderful too, but traded the ocean for the Big Living Skies and haven't looked back. I was born in southwestern Ontario in small farming communities, so Sask feels so much like home, and IS, but so much more laid back and simple! ❤ Hope our paths cross at some point, we have much in common 😊
I plan to move here 🙂 I am lucky enough to work remote and can relocate in Canada. I'm in Ontario and I'm so over the expensive house pricing as well as how busy it is. I want small quaint, drama free and making my own oasis. Is it cold? The roads and the cold don't bother me, I'm trying to be in the middle of nowhere lol
Be glad you don't live in Ontario. I'm not knocking Ontario, which one of two of the biggest provinces, which would take you a couple of days if not more to drive. Especially once you get closer to the Greater Toronto Area(GtA).
Hi, May I share the most important news you will ever hear in your entire life? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
This is so interesting thank you! I was born and raised in the UK, my mum is English and my dad was Canadian. There doesn’t seem to be a way but I’m still curious if anyone could help, so my mum and I want to move to Canada in the near future and I was wondering if being a Canadian citizen, she would have any rights to permanent residency through me? She’s a nurse so can get other visas, I’m an adult too so I don’t think there is a way but it’s a shame as I wouldn’t move without her
Think carefully about coming to Canada. Everything is unaffordable. Born Canadians are leaving the country in droves. There are no European areas. Canada is often called India 2.0. There are Indians everywhere. They are unskilled, uneducated, rude and barely speak English. I'm a Dutch migrant and I'm seriously thinking about leaving. I have an Aussie passport as well, but again Australia and also New Zealand are overrun by Indians, Chinese and muslims. Personally I now have my eyes on South America. Lots of Germans are moving to Paraguay. I'm contemplating about Mexico or Argentina. Mexico has lots of Americans and Canadians who were fed up with Trudeau's government and moved south.
The census is wrong. But I too wonder if there are any Indians left in India. Almost all of rural Canada is European or rather a western culture. The large cities, with Montreal a possible exception, are bland cultural wastelands overrun with non western immigrants.
@Buckshot99 Hey man, thanks for that. I have a German friend in Torronto who has recently moved to Montreal. I'm a skilled tradesman, but I hear the pay is not great in Montreal compared to Torronto?
@@Buckshot99Hey man thanks for that. I have a German friend in Canada who recently moved from Torronto to Montreal. I'm a skilled tradesman who works in construction and read the pay is not great in Montreal compared to Torronto? Edit: india's population in 1 of 2 countries in the billions and has over taken China's population now. Indians are everywhere, and the UK has the highest population of Indians in the Western world and then 2nd highest is in Canada. All the working class Brits have moved out of London all you mostly see in London is Indians. Diversity is good when it's balanced, but it's too over crowded and out of control now. All our rubbish government cares about is bringing in cheap labour so they keep encouraging it. It's all about money and greed over preserving heritage and British culture.
Hi thank you for your video. I greatly appreciate your videos. My husband and I are moving to Saskatoon from Toronto on May 29th and I am so anxious about moving because a lot of people are saying it is not safe there. Safety is my major concern and 2nd is the job opportunity. We are moving to Evergreen, Saskatoon. Do you happen to know by chance if Evergreen, Saskatoon is really a safe place to live? And how is the job opportunity there in Saskatoon in terms of administrative/office jobs? Your answers to my questions/concerns would be greatly appreciated. Thank you once again for all the videos you made. You have no idea how many people you have helped with your videos :)
Born and raised Saskatchewan man here. Thank you so much for this bud!! Open invitation to you should you want a tour guide to some of the most incredible things this province has to offer
I really love the genuineness of these videos. Sask people being super friendly is a huge plus because Ontario is somewhat friendly, Ontario is on the downhill.
This video just propaganda, first point talks about ‘adventure’ Like anyone cares when you don’t even have free speech in Canada, it’s one of the few places worse than the UK for free speech Cost of living in Canada should be cheap, they have more natural resources than the US with less people… but I bet the energy prices rose there too out of corruption Canada is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and it’s a massive shame that they have treasonous politicians running the country
Been here all my life and after travelling around canada more ive noticed how boring saskatchewan really is. Most the parks are run down or simply not running anymore. More investment for recreational activites were in the 1960s with most companies leaving saskatchewan all together. I dont see this province getting any better anytime soon, with some of the lowest grades per province. The cities have become worse and worse and the people are Wayyy less friendly than they used to. I remember back then having lots lf random conversations with people, now you talk to a stranger and they look at you like your crazy!!!! 😢 its so sad to see how this province has become when you seen what it used to be even in the 90s. Had indoor roller blades and we were all strangers just hungout and talked, at the arcades and such.
Also been here all my life, and honestly, I understand people not being very friendly and leaving. Got to say it like it is, Saskatchewan is a s---hole. There isn't anything to do, no hiking trails or sights to see, and the weather is horrendous. The only place in the world to get Florida summers and Antarctica winters. I'm finally leaving this province this year, I just can't do another winter.
Finally someone said the truth. Very tired of hearing the one Saskatchewan “I have all my family here” pov. People who move here are very miserable. They don’t have families or the right support system to do well here. Plus like you said most people aren’t as friendly compared to back then.
UK is significantly better in terms of housing ( commuter town to london or mid/ north or UK, better bigger job market, better healthcare (as per me), no heavy snow/mild tame weather, less druggies, better education, better unis, better public transport, cheaper grocery and cheaper WiFi n phone, similar utilities (you just use lesser heating and AC in UK), richness of culture, closer to Europe, better pubs and curry, infrastructure/shops/walking culture and not a bland car based north American infra, better employer rights (more leaves) and better work life balance... UK benefits are better than Canada. London alone has more tech/finance/white collar roles than whole of Canada combined. Check linkedin by changing location. Canada has higher gun crime too. UK has it's own culture whereas Canada seems to copy the US blindly. UK has it's issues too but currently Canada is suffering severely. I've lived in both. Wages are similar, except for few professions. Medicine, nursing, academia and govt roles will pay higher in Canada. Finance can pay higher in UK. Rest is all similar. UK just has lot more interesting roles and a significantly bigger market. Canada, apart from tech, has a very small outsourcing/back office/operations type market, that too very tiny. It mostly has a very small white collar market...
@@Abhsjsjdn Thanks so much for sharing! You make some excellent points. London is an incredible city, and you are right about the commuter towns. One thing I miss is getting a 30-minute train ride into the city.... what I would do to have that here. The pubs, curry, and ability to walk are certainly things which I think are better in the UK!
@@AbhsjsjdnTrue but UK depends a lot on other countries like exports and doesn't have natural occuring resources like energy that comes from Europe and Canada has it all
@@nozmulm Canada has natural resources, but with heavy extraction/transport fees and high levels of bureaucracy that keep the oil from being sent/exported/benefit locals. That doesn't make it profitable like gulf and it's harder to extract. Canada couldn't even answer Europe demand for fuel during Ukraine - Russia war. Ultimately it's about being able to afford a living, a decent career and a house and a life. I've found all harder in urban areas of Canada than of the UK. The over increasing immigration to Canada made me leave it. I find UK still more peaceful than Canada. Canada is surely very well marketed and Canadians speak very highly of it too. Whereas UK has lot of bad rap due to Brexit and the locals are self deprecating and under confident/whiners... But on ground level, the average Brit has it easier than the average Canadian
Haha, I know what you mean. Before moving here I didn't know much about the province, apart from driving through as a child (until I met my partner of course). There is something about this province that is just amazing!
