Welcome to Canada and Saskatchewan!! I was born and raised in Sask and love it. Yes, there is about 3 to 6 weeks in the winter where it is too damn cold. But the rest of the year makes up for it. Also, the winters go in cycles. There are a few years where winter gets really cold and then things improve and we have a few years where we don’t have those weeks of real cold weather. Same goes for the amount of snow. A few years there is a lot and then we have a few years where there isn’t much. And you are very correct about getting used to the cold weather. -10 in November is a very cold day. -10 in February and you can go out without a coat. Another thing to point out. It isn’t so much the cold, but the wind. The wind cuts right through you. -40 with no wind is a lot better than -25 with wind.

Finally someone talks about grocery prices.

Thanks for watching, I still can’t get over just how expensive they are! 😭

@@jackincanada163 Try FreshCo its a bit cheaper. But the price is because of the bad logistics: Once food is grown, farmers sell it to truckers who then drive across the whole country until the reach Mississauga, an industrial city right next to Toronto, where they sell it at higher prices to be processing industries: This is where wheat become crackers, potato becomes chips and so on. Then the processing plant sells the processed food to another trucker at even higher prices who then drives all the way back accross Canada to sell it at higher prices again to retailers like wallmart and then the retailers sells it to you at yet again higher prices... This is how its done in most countries BUT there is one major difference: Most countries are way smaller then Canada so less travelling distances les fuel expenses and most nations would use the much cheaper train instead of trucks but thanks to Canada's stupid rich oil industry. Most railways were destroyed and trains were replaced with trucks. All because the oil industry doesn't like competition. So... Yeah, this is why prices are so expensive here in Canada. In the US its still expensive but a bit cheaper because unlike Canada, they have multiple processing centers. And when oil prices are high like right now, all prices jumps up, such is the consequence for having your entire logistical system based on oil fuelled transportation.

@@tusk3260 It is very expensive, I would say Food Basics or No Frills will you give you the most affordable options. A lot of Canadians who live close to the USA border do some of their shopping in there to save money. I personally like going to the less expensive stores and for certain items I sometimes go to the higher end grocery stores for better quality.

@@eliciaeldridge3452 yeah.... Too bad i dont live close enough to the border. Tho the cheapest stores around me are FreshCo and Giant Tiger. Also theres Foodbasics but its a bit far for my house. But lately i find even the prices of those stores to get expensive. Realy i need a place with cheaper rent. Currently 68% of my total "net" income goes in paying the rent. Idealy i'd want that to go down to 30%. So im looking for a new place.

Being from Ontario, we only get 2-4 real snowfalls a year and not many frigid days. I'd LOVE to move to Saskatoon but i don't know if i could deal with the winters. Summer there is beautiful though!

In relationship to the cost of things, have you made the currency conversation to make it a fair comparison?

Hey, thanks for watching! Yes, I’ve found since I’ve moved to Canada I’ve been constantly doing that naturally and with practically everything. Overall I would say, things to balance out but some things are just a lot more expensive than what I was expecting.😊

We could bury the tax in the price but Canadians like to see how much the Government is gouging them and are happy to scream if the tax were to rise.
