Hey there, I'm Danny - your DIY troubleshooter! I've made all the mistakes, done the endless research, and I'm here to share the best solutions for your house and lifestyle projects.
I guess the risk is you’d want to avoid a darker spot, which if you add more tinted varnish it might happen. My advice is to look closely and see if sanding brought the surface back down to the wood. If not then just the light coat of poly should do.
I am using Minwax polyacrylic on a large bookshelf I just painted. Using a brush, it's streaking like crazy. If you can't spray it (I can't, because I live in a small apartment), I would use something else for a larger piece of furniture.
Did you try sanding with super fine grit sand paper in between coats? I would also recommend using a fine hair paint brush and not standard hardware store chip brushes.
@@DannyTimes Yes I sanded in between. I used a nylon/polyester brush for the first two coats, then switched to a foam brush. The foam brush gave me nice even coverage. I didn't have any problem with bubbles. The key with a foam brush is waiting a few seconds for the poly to absorb into the foam before applying. I could not get even coverage with the nylon brush no matter how carefully applied it. I have no idea why I couldn't get the nylon to work well. I think your cabinets came out great, BTW.
Got some Samba Super on the way and was wondering about this - and now I know. Great to see comments confirming how well it works too. Ordered half a size up so should have plenty room to play with. Thanks for the hack 😁👍
@@DannyTimes turns out I got such big feet the tongues are in proportion. 😂😂 Bought 2 pairs - 1x2010 Kangaroo skin, immaculate condition, size 11 and 1 x 2019, also immaculate condition, size 11.5 as apparently they're tight on wide feet, but both are now my new favourite trainers 😉👍
@DannyTimes Yeah! My family is obsessed, I made 6 jars and they are almost all gone now. People get too bogged down with the semantics lol, this was a great recipe regardless 👍
Great idea! I’m going to try this immediately Last season, also here in the Catskills, was terrible slug season for me. I’ve spotted a couple today and plan yo get ahead of them this year. Wish me luck!
A brilliant idea. As I was watching the video I had an idea. I just wonder if this remedy would also have any effect on preventing the squash vine borer on the stems of squash? I may give it a try.
Sand, diatomaceous earth, torch ,aluminum foil ,frogs, toads, use everything , overwhelm them. They stick to cotton gloves with a light touch, wood ashes, lime ,ducks ,upside down clay pots, cardboard, shingles ,copper wire and mesh .this is my quick short list. There are probably a lot more ideas
Fantastic! Just followed your hack, and it worked like a charm! Although, I think the tongue looks more natural if you go up FOUR lace holes before lacing through the tongue. Perfect length. 👌🏼
Gorgeous cabinets! Minwax polycrylic is a wonderful product. I painted my island after de-glossing with a regular Behr paint, and put the polycrylic over it for durability. Worked like a charm, fairly easy to use, and dries super fast.
Omg this is the best tip I’ve ever seen! I spent a ton of money on copper over the years and it was the only thing that worked. Thank you for this tip! I know what I’m doing today!
you want to get rid of snails and slugs - Here is how I do it. get a pie pan and fill it with beer and put it in your flower bed or garden in the evening - the next morning - if there are slugs in your flower bed or garden, the pie tin that was filled with beer will be filled with slugs and snails - I tried it and it works every time. You will be amazed at how many slugs and snails are in your flower beds and gardens, especially if they never have been treated for them.
This is IT! Such a brilliant idea. I'm battling snails on my strawberry plants...headed to the dollar store ASAP... Thank you and howdy from your new subscriber in Texas! 🤠🤠
Man finally I find a video about this exact type of wall. Do you think concert screws "tapcon" would've worked? There's a bit of brick to bite into on the other side, is the plug really needed? But, thanks for the lesson, plastic screw plug, not the go.
Glad to help! Not sure about the tap on style screw, but the plugs do a good job of expanding teeth into the brick hole and provide grooves for the thread to turn into. Let me know how it goes!
