"Abandoned farmhouses and rural buildings have always held a special fascination for me. As odd as this seems, I see poetry in these buildings that lean against the landscape, that view the world through shattered lenses.
I often wonder: Who lived or worked here? Why was this farmhouse or barn or outbuilding or schoolhouse abandoned, left to decay in the elements? I feel a certain sense of sadness knowing that once this building stood strong and proud.
But, yet, I manage to see the beauty in the bones that remain-in weathered boards muted to soft shades of gray, in crooked doors clinging to rusty hinges, in roofs that sag under the weight of time. In my mind, I have personified this abandoned building, given it new life, through my photos and my poetic thoughts."
I follow you on here and Insta. you're doing what a lot of us wish we were free to do. Please keep the narration up. I wouldn't know what a MMR was if I didn't learn it from you. Things are a lot different up there and you're the only way I'll know wtf some things are. Hell, we don't even have basements down here.
I agree, I wish there was an explanation as to why it's abandoned? Did the owner(s) die and no children to inherit? Did they simply move away due to financial reasons? The latter can happen sometimes, but why would they leave their photos, documents, and stuff just behind completely. It's sad if people lived alone and died alone in those houses. Being single isn't particularly a good thing (unless you'd be in a toxic relationship and then it makes sense being single would be better given the context).
Great house and video the only part that I had to skip over was the poor animals 😢 It’s truly sad and so sadistic ppl go around torturing animals.. maybe Karma needs to teach them..
I’m surprised they are not more stripped out. Something to think about, windows usually have date codes on them somewhere, it can give you an idea on when the house was built or new windows were put in. In some of the videos I have seen of this place, the suspicions are, all of the cars are stolen and dumped there.
They called it, cheap and affordable housing with an emphasis on cheap. To be honest, I thought they were double wides when you first walked up. I’m surprised they are not more stripped out. 3:20, they had a name for this type of plywood, but I can’t think of it off hand. Something to think about, windows usually have date codes on them somewhere. 19:40, I think this was a building, you can see where the floor tiles were, the cut outs were the walls. 22:00, Water Tower??
Thanks again for going places I would never dare! I was worried when you went upstairs. Glad the stairs and floors held up! Looking forward to the next part.
Breaks my heart to see so many of these great old places just sitting empty and falling apart. Would love to have a farmstead like that. I'm glad though that this one still remains rather than being demolished. They are silent memorials to past lives and should be allowed to endure.
I live in New Hampshire. Cant go out back to the creek for two minutes without having to pull five of em off of me... They have become " real bad". Lord knows what diseases and illnesses they will cause. Ticks& Leeches by TOOL is a great song, check it out if you have not..
Great explore! Have you ever felt any spirits there? I have a feeling that they will owners linger around their home. I have a feeling they're there with you abd are glad somebody came to visit. Just my opinion. How to sub to your channel.
Thank you! I can almost see what life was like in these houses. I can vividly imagine the house full of warmth and love, food cooking on the stove. Laughter, tears, joy, sorrow. Childrens footsteps. Abandoned farmhouses really give me a feeling like nothing else!
The picture window and the front door with the three glass panes in a diagonal pattern both seem very 1950's-ish, which could be when the owners renovated the house.
Ive seen countless cases where it was clearly a young family living in one of these old farmhouses and they always paint the walls bright colors. Mostly in the bedrooms. One last cosmetic renovation. Definitely makes me feel sad...
9:42 Ooh' Rainbow D2 canister vacuum cleaner (minus the water pan and roller dolly,, but probably in there). The Rainbow D4SE is hands down the best vacuum cleaner ever made. For upright vacuum cleaners I recommend the Hoover Concept 1 self propelled. Don't like the water (Rainbow)? Get a Filter Queen Majestic.
