It's a shame to destroy such a historic and beautiful building. A Church like this should be saved and used as intended. The community and political leaders should be ashamed of themselves.
@@cherie623 What does the Bible say about foreigners in your country? “When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not wrong him. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt” (Lev. 19:33-34).
I always thought it would be cool to transition an old country church (not a church this size) into a house. That would be quite unique and the stained glass would be beautiful. Glad you shared before this is taken down.
Considering its age and historical value, I'm surprised there wasn't more push to save it or incorporate parts of the old building into the new structure.
Even though I have your videos set to let me know when everything posts, somehow I missed this one. I saw the announcement for Prt 2 and was like 😮what? So, I'm getting extended watch time this morning 🤭 I am just as fascinated by abandoned churches and schools.
What an interesting place. So much history, then poof, gone. To be replaced with a bland, ugly, squat, prison looking building. So efficient yet so sad. I'll be sure to tune in for the next one. Thanks for the journey!
We're not on the farm anymore, but it's a fascinating exploration nevertheless. Also, having to be so careful about your camera lights gives this a fun "sneaking around" atmosphere.
The boxy, brutalist eyesore they're building on the site of the church is hideous in comparison to the character of the church's old school architecture.
5:45 Love the Sheep in the Big City reference. (Yeah, I know that cartoon's title comes from an old adage but, heck, I love that cartoon.) This is def not what you usually do but an interesting change of pace. Pity they're going to tear it down.
Are they taking the organs or the pipes out? Or even the pews. It would be sad if they demolished everything. Wonderful video! Can't wait for the next one!!
Demolition is scheduled to happen tomorrow. It's a shame it couldn't be restored, but the energy bill must be huge; too much of a burden for a shrinking congregation or a human service organization. I fear that we will see a lot these grand old places go.
Farm what was the name of that pipe organ there's a name plate on the front of it like where u zoomed in by the chimes switch either that or it was on the left hand side it looks like it had 7 Rank's up there and 2 manual console..like to know what's goin to happen to the pipe organ are they going sell it or dismantle it for parts it's a shame it's not being cared for there worth a good bit of money..
It had to be bigger than 7rks. I saw a Clarinet, Trumpet, Gambe, Celeste, Diapason, Violon, Subbass, Mixture(?), and likely for the time of this organ, a 4' Harmonic Flute. I could probably find the organ on the OHS database if I knew the name of the town.
@@FarmHunter woo that's out there a ways I'm from Pittsburgh pa.. beautiful church tho whenever you go back film the organ again so I can see a name on it and so I can see the different stops/tabs on the organ..thanks
