We don’t want bigger, we want smaller cruise ships like the old steam liner ages. A nice sun deck, promenade that wraps around. Not to be crammed in with thousands of people ready to spread viruses.
Your right! I just noticed the waterline on this monstrosity. Floats more like a barge with its weight pushing down . In the Atlantic Ocean running into a hurricane would not be enjoyable. Why do you build a ship which floats like a barge , then throw 5000 complainers on it and then throw in some monster swells . I’d be interested to hear the idea behind the build.
Compared to icon and upcoming star of the seas, symphony is nothing. 236,000 tons to 250,000 make icon and star just under 7% bigger. Symphony remains (as of 2024) the world’s fourth largest ship and will be fifth when star comes out in 2025
But symphony still isn’t small, and only three of her running-mates are bigger. No other shipping line has managed to build a bigger ship than any of the oasis class
These are basically just floating bathrooms. People pay money so they can live in an enchanted world where they can s*** drink, funk and sleep without any responsibilities. God bless them all

While in the Navy back in the day, I actually was able to go down on the floor of the drydock in Long Beach Calif. and look up at the Destroyer Everett F. Larson DD 830 from the bottom, and that was awesome. I can just imagine the feel of seeing this huge ship from the bottom.
